(((((((CHINTASTICA)))))))

Took yesterday off except for an hour walk with the dog. Poor DH is on crutches as he cannot put any weight on his leg and is really getting frustrated being helpless. Simple things like getting dressed, shaving, carrying a cup of coffee, getting the newspaper or mail, getting into the shower then standing on one leg...etc. You get the idea:confused: I've been feeling stressed with having to do EVERYTHING so I think a heart pumping cardio is needed today.

Linda- I hope the party for DS went well and you are feeling better.

Catherine- Hugs! It sucks when you don't feel like yourself. Been there so I understand. Just keep plugging away with whatever workouts you can get done and don't put too much pressure on yourself. It will come in time. Vent and whine all you want...heck, I just did;)

Good morning ladies. Well it's almost afternoon, but anyway,... I did GS BSB timesaver yesterday. I still have some wicked, wicked DOMS from Friday's leg workout  This morning I did CCPP and it felt great!! Well except for the burn in my legs

Judi, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for the both of you. I hope a good cardio session gives you some stress relief!

Linda, I hope you have shaken whatever bug seems to have plagued you ;)

Judi - Sorry for your poor DH and all the added responsibility you have had to take on. Can only imagine how stressful it must be. Well, actually no, I guess I have been there, DH had back surgery like 10 years ago and was laid up months before that. Fortunately it was before kids.

Catherine - Nice job on the workouts. How's the leg DOMS?

First let me just say that DS's party was a huge success. He had a blast and I even heard some of his friends telling him "that this is the funniest birthday party they had ever been too".:D:D:D

It was completely a non-stop weekend. DS's party Friday night, left 8 am Saturday morning with friends for a trip to Delaware returned 5 pm, at 6 pm went with family to Boardwalk, Sunday morning to church, from church to boardwalk, from boardwalk back to church for choir practice and evening service. And this chest cold is still bothering me.

Saturday morning I did manage to do Kimberly's Combat Cardio Bootcamp. Was only 40 minutes and pretty easy but that was all I could handle.

This morning was Meso 3, Disc 34 Chest and Back. My last week. This workout you go back to 85% but increase the reps to 8.

Now I am suppose to be 5% stronger but not sure if I am, as I am doing weights I did before but just adding one rep to each set.

CHEST & BACK ROUND 1
Warm up Flat Bench Press
12/12 -55/60#

Flat Bench Press
8/8/8/8- 95#
Barbell Rows

CHEST & BACK ROUND 2
Chest Flys
8/8/8/8 - 30's
One Arm Row
8/8/8/8 - 49#

CHEST & BACK ROUND 3

CHEST & BACK ROUND 4
Incline Chest Flys
8/8/8/8 - 30's
One Arm Horizontal Row
8/8/8/8 - 47#

Workout was 1:08 and I burned 525 calories.

Linda, wow what a weekend!! Oh and regardless of if you are 5% stronger or not your workouts are impressive ;)

I did GS C&T timesaver today. I am still mentally not wanting to w/o. Don't know why. Physically I am feeling better. Anyway,..... Oh and the leg DOMs are STILL there

Judi, whatcha up to??

Yesterday was Disc 28 + no equipment abs and it went pretty well. I spent the next 5 hours working outside while we had a short window of no rain. Put away all the furniture, cut the grass, raked, started on the pool closing process, cleaned out my flower beds and pots. Going up/down the ladder to put things up in the rafters, stacking all the furniture etc. and by the time I was done, I was a hurting mess.

Disc 28
W/U Barbell Press 50/55#

Barbell Press
7/7/7/7 75#
BB Rows
7/7/7/7 87#

Chest Flys
7/7/7/7 30#
One Arm Rows
7/7/7/7 38.75#

Incline Bench Press
7/7/7/7 65# (kept this lighter because it bothers my shoulder)
Deadlifts
7/7/7/7 90#

Incline Chest Flys
7/7/7/7 27.5#
Horizontal Rows
7/7/7/7 32.5#

Linda- I can't say I was 5% stronger across the board after my first round with STS but I am struggling less with higher weight and can do more reps than before. That is how I am measuring my improvements. Glad the party went well. Sounds like you had a very busy weekend.

Catherine- Hope your workout mojo returns soon. It really sucks when you don't have any motivation. I'm glad you are feeling better physically and "woo hoo" on the leg doms!

Off to do some cardio..................

Judi - Sounds like you are working hard, try not to wear yourself out too much. Also those are some nice numbers on Disc 28, especially 30# for Flyes.

Catherine - Whatcha doing?

This morning I did Tracey Staehle's High Intensity Step Mix 2, but only through the 8th interval. I ran out of time at that point. Workout was 1:05 and I burned 552 calories. Then later I went for a 5 mile walk with my client and we shaved 20 minutes of her time (apparently I was walking faster than I realized:p)

Today was my last Plyo Leg workout, Disc 35. I can't beleive I only have one workout left and then I am done STS. I can honestly say I enjoyed it. Except for Plyo Legs just about killed me this morning. Because of this stupid virus by the end my chest was burning and I was coughing my head off. Workout was 52 minutes and I burned 470 calories.

I still have a battle going on in my head about working out. I didn't w/o yesterday so I am counting that as my rest day. Hopefully it'll be my only one this week. I really tried to talk myself out of working out this evening. I had no excuses so I did it. I did CCV6 on the stationary. I wanted to quit after the first part of challenge 1 then again at the end of challenge 1 but I made myself finish all 3 challenges. I am glad I did. Tomorrow should be GSL. After last weeks DOMs I am scared

Linda, my how time flies when you are having fun :p

Judi, I was tired just reading what all you did yesterday :D

Catherine- Good for you for sticking it out and finishing CCV6!! My head often tries to talk me out of working out...sometimes it succeeds and other times it doesn't. Take it one day at a time and don't look back on the days with no workout. You've been through a rough period with surgery and a slow recovery with your foot, an ulcer, family health issues etc... You'll get there! Good luck with GSL:)

Linda- Wow..looking back, doesn't it seem STS went fast? It seems daunting when you first start but it goes by quickly. I'm glad you enjoyed it and hope you made some strength gains. Now you just need to get rid of that virus and start feeling better. What do you plan to do after STS? That was always a quandary for me.

Yesterday I did the second plyo legs W/O and for some reason it really kicked my @ss:confused: I had to pause the dvd a few times and burned about 90 calories more than the first plyo workout. What's up with that? I do think there was more jumping off the step with 4 risers/side but that doesn't get me as much as those 180 turns...seriously, I almost didn't finish and I only used 8#. I'm afraid of the next one with the one legged squat thrusts:eek:

Cardio is on tap today and thinking of Amy's ITR....I really like that one. Have a great day!

Well, I changed my mind and ended up doing BM2 Cardio Blast premix instead. I figured with all the punching in ITR, I didn't want to chance sore arms tomorrow for Disc 30 shoulders/bis/tris. I did it on an 8" step and I don't care what anyone says, the intensity is quadrupled. My HR was in the upper 160's to lower 170's and I had to pause a couple times just to catch my breath. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea after doing plyo legs yesterday:confused: Anyhoo, I survived and burned 550 calories which is alot for me on a 60 minute w/o. I might need a nap today;)

Catherine - Way to go on sticking it out through CCv6#! Hopefully you will find your workout mojo soon!:D

Judi - Wow, BM@ on 2 risers the day after Plyo Legs! You go girl. And I can honestly say I hate, I mean hate, one legged squat thrusts. I think my HR hit 189 on those yesterday.

I over slept this morning and DH let me. I managed to squeeze in 4DS BC. Figured if I only had 30 minutes I better make them count. Workout was 35 minutes and I burned 302 calkories.

Judi, I always find anything the day after a leg w/o to be tough :p Nice job on plyo legs!!

I did L&G modified a bit this morning. I do thinks like kb squats (as low as I can go) and deck squats to sub for the lunging moves and plyo lunges.

Oh and I bought some MBTs. My sister has been wearing them for a year now and loves them. I however am balance challanged anyway, so I am finding them a bit weird. But they do feel good on the bottom of my feet.

GS BSB timesaver done. I actually added in a few other exercises to make it a bit longer. I just didn't feel up to doing the whole thing.

I'm taking my brother to his f/u appointment with the neurologist this afternoon and hope to do something on the stationary bike afterwards. If not at least I did the wt work already.

What's on tap for you ladies today?

Morning! I just finished disc 30 shoulders/biceps/triceps, skipped abs because I need to get to work on the pool. It must be cleaned and drained before tomorrow as we are only supposed to be in the 30's for temps. I sure as heck don't want to be working on it then:confused:!

Catherine- How is your brother doing? Great job on GS BSB! BTW, how are you liking your MBT's? I thought about getting a pair to see if they would help with my posture. I'm glad to hear they feel good on your foot.

Linda- What's up today?

Catherine - Can't wait to hear your review on the MBTs. Hope all is well with your brother.

Judy - 30's does not sound like fun. I am not ready for it to be that cold.

It is Finished!! STS that is!:D

This morning was Meso 3, Disc 36 Shoulders, Biceps and Triceps. Again you alternate the exercises resting a minute between sets and doing 4 sets total of each exercise.

It was all suppose to be at 85% of 1RM but I said forget that and decided to push it to the max. Which started out good but I paid for towards the end.:D

Workout was 1:05 and I burned 486 calories.

12-40# (these are up 10# from what I had been using)

Barbell Curl
8/8/8/8 - 60# (up 2#, I have never curled 60# for 8 reps before, but like I said I think I paid for it later)
Flat Bench Tricep Extensions

Incline Curls on SB

Cross Body Kickbacks
8/8/8/8-18# (left was failing like mad, did additional reps on the left for the last set)
