Hello! I work at home listen to podcasts (and NPR) for most of the day. Anyone want to share their favorites? Right now I'm into these podcasts:

RadioLab
Point of Inquiry
Veganfreak Radio
Uhh Yeah Dude (just found this one, it's hilarious!)
Savage Lovecast
This American Life
Stuff You Should know

Thanks in advance!

Amy

I love This American Life.

I used to listen to the Pacific Coast Hellway podcasts on the Adam Curry Podcast Show on Sirius. I haven't listened in a while...definitely adult entertainment...not for everyone.

I'll have to check out some of the others on your list, Amy.

Thanks Gayle! I'll check out the Pacific Coast Hellway podcast. Several of my faves are also rated R. And Savage Love, well, it's a sex/relationship-advice podcast by Dan Savage (who also writes a syndicated column) so as you can imagine it's not for kids, or faint-of-heart adults. I love his podcast because I think his advice is really sincere and honest and he's so funny...but he does throw around a lot of profanity.

I have no tv connection, so I do a lot of podcasts. The ones I can think of:

Fresh Air
This American Life
Driveway Moments
Story of the Day
Wait Wait Don't Tell Me
The Moth
Dr. Fitness & the Fat Guy (they're going to try to get Cathe on)
Beyond Diet
Reasonable Diet

Uh Yeah Dude sounds promising ;)

I know! Doesn't the title just grab you!? ;) And it really describes the podcast perfectly.

Thanks for those suggestions Beth. I'll check them out. It will be so cool if Cathe does the Dr. Fitness one! :)

Let me guess though, being relatively unsophiscated with such things, that they are only available to iPOD users through iTunes, correct? I'm a sansa fuze kinda chick...;)

They are available on iTunes, but you don't need an ipod to listen to them. I usually just listen to them on my computer with iTunes. Sometimes I'll put some podcasts on my ipod for roadtrips but otherwise I don't. You should be able to download iTunes for free and get tons of free podcasts. Sounds fun huh?

I am going to sound like a foolio, but how do podcasts work? Do you just plug your ipod into your computer every day and it downloads?

Hi Sugarbean - You can subscribe to them through a podcast client, like iTunes, and they'll automatically download to your iTunes library (I think). Then when you synch your iPod, it downloads to your iPod.

Also, as Amy mentioned, you can just listen to them on your computer with iTunes, too.

I've also just downloaded them individually and added them to my iTunes library, like with music.
