Anyone else gonna freestyle it with STS?

I'm now reduced to counting the hours (literally) before STS is in my hot little hands, and I have actually scheduled a vacation day for Fri. 02/06/09 to stay home and do a day-long preview of the series.

However, I have no plans in the foreseeable future to do STS in the structured manner that Cathe has laid out; I just want to do all these cool new drills whenever I want to!

Is anyone else looking at STS the same way - as a great addition to their own self-styled program?

Me personally, I can't wait for the Plyo Legs and Ab Circuits workouts especially!

I am going to try to first do a CLX rotation, then STS, then P90X. However, I am not so good with sticking with rotations, and I am so eager to try all of them, that I may just do that. I will certainly do that with all of them after I have completed all three rotations. Just use whatever I want to accomplish whatever I want in a given time period. I really don't know if I can stick to a rotation when I just wish I had more body parts and needed less recovery time so I could do more more more!

I'm also doing a CLX rotation before STS (with probably a week of something else in between).

I will be previewins STS upon its arrival, and then decide what to do from there.

I might switch the order of the mesocycle, or decide that meso 1 is nothing that I couldn't get from the workouts I already have, and get rid of it pronto, or decide to shorten the Mesos (or some of them) to some degree, or decide to do it as-is.

I'm leaving all possibilities open for now (as I find it hard to imagine getting back into workouts that are an hour long or longer, after being 'spoiled' by CLX's time efficiency---while previewing, I will be looking at STS with the view of shortening some of the workouts, maybe reducing sets--especially for smaller muscle groups).

I'm also doing a CLX rotation now (3 weeks each phase) before STS. I'm really liking the leg work every day, so I'm considering adding on some of Cathe's bonus leg work to the two days I'm doing upper body work -- it may depend on whether or not I have the time to, but that's what I'm hoping to do (hopefully Cathe didn't just shudder somewhere at the thought).

I'm not doing CLX or any of the P90X stuff but I'm thinking I just might do all of STS as Cathe has laid it out, just to see what happens. My only thing is I'm getting really weird about doing ANY direct ab work because I've been reading a lot about how doing so can result in a thick mid-section (NOT what I'm after). Still, not ALL direct AB work needs to be avoided so, with my limited knowledge, I need to make decisions about what ab exercises would benefit me and what would not.

I think it will be tough but I'm on board. I just wonder how much in this series will be about compound moves. I hope most of it is. But yea, I think I'm going to go for it. Of course, I haven't seen it all yet so we'll see.

I really hope you're not disappointed -- I'm pretty sure Cathe said Sony promised the disks to SNM on the 27th give or take a few days. That caveat has convinced me to try to not be too surprised or disappointed if we don't hear on Tuesday that they are in SNM's hands. It would be even better if they were delivered to them today and they are early!

I usually make up my own weight training sessions based on exercises Cathe has taught me and stuff I have picked up from pt and reading, books, etc.

There are certain aspects of STS that I am most looking forward to and I will take them out of their mesocycles and do them whenever. Principally the Ab/core work I shall do whenever and all the leg work, including the bonus footage. I am most looking forward to the comprehensive nature of the core work and the leg work, especially meso 2 leg work and the bonus leg work. So, at some time I may do all three mesocycles as planned by Cathe, but I should think that 80% of the time, I shall do bits and pieces whoever I damn well please!!!!
