((((CHINNERS FOR LIFE))))

This morning I did the step combos from Imax 2 and Cardio & Weights, then did the cleans and played around with the windmills from Providence, then did the floor stretch from Tamilee's Stretch DVD. Workout was !:14 and burned 568 calories.

I preordered Amy's new DVD's this morning!:D:D:D:D:D:D

Finished up my 1 rep max tests for upper body and did a few for legs. Not sure how accurate all the numbers will be as I became fatigued and had to lower my weight. I assume it is still just a guideline of where to start weightwise and will have to adjust depending on my strength that day. I'm really getting pumped for STS!:)

JJ

I just finished Providence a little bit ago. Did most of the work with my 12kg bell, but a few things with the 8 kg bell. Did a TGU on each side with an 8 kg bell afterwards. I am pooped!!

Linda, what new dvd is Amy working on?? How did you feel about doing the WMs from Providence?? Inquiring minds want to know :D

JJ, good for you for doing your 1 RM!! I haven't even thought about it. I am afraid STS is gonna kick my butt. But I don't know when I'll do it

Catherine - Amy has a new Kettlebell workout and a Kickbox workout. The KB workout is only 12.95 and today includes free shipping! :D:D:D I thought windmills were very difficult to coordinate!:p:p:p:p I look forward to doing a full KB workout, me thinks it's going to be a whole new experience with lots of DOMS;););). Hey are there any exercises on Providence that really hit the triceps? I'd like to hit them and maybe could add that to Saturday's cardio.

Linda, there's one round where Anthony does "triple crush" it's a curl, raise the kb over head into a tricep extension and repeat. It hits the triceps a bit, but not a super burn or anything. I have a hard time with the windmills myself. Maybe I need to lighten the weight

Had a great workout this morning. Looking for some good music to workout to. Any one got any good ideas? Nothing to obnoxious please:p.

Superset A
BB Squats
12/12/12 - 87's
One Arm Over Head Press
8/8/8 - 26's

Superset B

Static Lunge
8/8/8 - 36's
DB Pullover
12/12/12 - 42#

Then interval cardio at 30/90 ratio for six rounds going over step w linge backs. Then did the stretch from IMAX 3. I also added a few more upper body stretches, while I made DS's breakfast.

Hey ladies!! I took another rest day yesterday. I was due cardio, but my neuroma was still acting up a bit :( I guess I could have done yoga, but alas I didn't LOL! I have a session with Katie this morning. Seems kbs don't aggravate it too much. Thank goodness!!

So we finally got a ship date on STS!! I still have to figure out where/when I will fit it in. I don't want to give up my kbs!!

Linda, that inverted row on the stability ball sounds TOUGH!!! Is that like a renagade row on the SB??

JJ, how is your obique doing?? Did the doc give you any extra stretches to do??

Linda, that inverted row on the stability ball sounds TOUGH!!! Is that like a renagade row on the SB??

Yes, except your facing up hanging from a bar and using both arms to pull yourself up.

Not much sleep last night so I was exhausted this morning. Let the kids sleep with me last night and DD beat the heck out of me in her sleep. Finally left at 2:30 am and went to sleep in her bed, but then hands were acting up. They have been really bad recently.

I did Step Blast and Stretch w/ the Stability Ball #2 from Cathe's Total Body Stretching . Workout was 1:11 and I burned 511 calories.

Today is day 2 of CleanMax and I've got 3 rooms left. I was going to say no workout yesterday or today but scrubbing out 2 shower stalls, 2 bathtubs, 4 toilets, 5 floors and throw in some dusting and vacuuming should count for something!

Catherine, my oblique/hip issue is better especially after my massage. My therapist said she could feel spasms in my obliques, psoas, and hip flexor. She got them to release, OUCH, and it is definitely improved. Sorry to hear your neuroma is still bothering you. I can totally relate to taking extra rest days! Have a great session with Katie. What have you been working on?

Linda, I was trying to picture those inverted rows in my head and came up with nothing:confused: Thanks for explaining it....they sound tough! Sorry you had a sleepless night. It kinda sets the mood for the whole day. Take care!

JJ

Hey gang!! I had a good session with Katie this morning. She even complimented me on my squat thrust/front squat combo. Which meant a lot to me because my squats have been so quad dominant I really have a hard time doing a proper squat. I am getting there but still have some flexibility issues. I will take small improvements. Oh, I actually successfully did a renagage row today. to say I just couldn't figure it out before. Couldn't get started But today it clicked.

Linda, now I got what you were doing  Don't think I"ll be doing those anytime soon. Sorry to hear about your sleeping woes. I am still impressed with your stretching!!!

JJ, glad things are improving for your oblique. That's a lot of clean max you are doing  The workouts with Katie are going well. Today I happened to ask her (inspired by reading the kb check-in) what her opinion of doing 200 swings per day was. Well, guess what we did today. Yep 200 swings  In sets starting from lightest to heaviest using 8,10,12, & 16 kg bell. Otherwise we are working on just standard stuff swings, dls, clean and press, squats, snatches,... mixed in with corrective strategies. She usually makes us do TGU or a variety there of. Which are apparently good for my squat issues. She ususally has us doing circuit stuff. She mixes it up quit nicely.

Oh and I cleaned and OHP my 16 for Katie today- she made me ;) I did 3 reps R and 1 L with another bent press on the L.

Sorry to be so long winded.

In case my description wasn't completely clear.

Catherine, did you get the minute of strength #95 email from AOS? I thought of you because it is all about shoulder packing and the OVP. I can see how this makes all the difference when trying to press heavier weight. The strength comes from the lats and core with minimal shoulder involvement. I usually do it this way but it really takes focus and concentration and sometimes I find myself getting sloppy. There is also a clip on shoulder packing and TGU's. Plus, I need to make sure my elbow is only there as a brace and not being used to help me get up.

It sounds like Katie likes the idea of doing 200 swings. I'll have to start adding that in once I start back. I'm giving my hip one more week and then it BELL time!

Linda, thanks for the visual. I get it now and they look tough!!

JJ

JJ, yes I saw that MOS and I totally agree. KBs have taught me so much. And shoulder packing is one of them. I know Cathe would always say in chest and back work to retract the scapula and I heard it but never really did it so to speak. At least not properly. I can really tell a difference.

I really want to do a strict KB rotation for a month, but am afraid to stop my traditional stuff LOL!! I know better, but you know how it is. Really I am only doing 1 traditional upper body a week and no traditional leg work. So I should really give it a go. Just have to figure out where to fit the chins in ;)

Linda, hope you had a good weekend!!

Morning Maniacs,

This week four of Phase 2 of TT for Abs. Thinking I might take a rest before starting Phase 3.

Superset A
Reverse Lunge
8/8/8 - 31's
Decline Spiderman Pushups
9/9/9 - **Up 1 rep on first two sets and 2 reps on the last set :D***

Superset B
Pull Ups w/ knee ups
5/5/4 ***one more rep on first two sets***:D
Stability Ball Leg Curl
20/20/20

Superset C

AB Wheel Roll Out
10/10/10
X-Body Mountain Climbers w/ hands on ball
10/10/10 per side
Straight Arm Side Plank
30 sec. hold x 3

Then interval cardio at 30/90 ratio for 6 rounds going over step w/ lunge back. Then Floor Stretch from Tamilee's Total Body Stretching. Then DD made me run around with her some more. Work out was 1:26 and I burned 600 calories.

Got a late start today so kids were with me, and after the intervals I run around my workout area, well they were running with me. They just thought it was a blast.

JJ - When you are done Clean Maxing your house you can come do mine!:p

Catherine - Great job on the KB workouts. I think you should to a KB rotation, maybe I'll join you.

Linda, great job on those pullups!!!

I have decided that I have too much to work on right now and to just be happy where my chin/pull up numbers are. I need to focus on getting my lower body working correctly and then maybe I'll push it again. I will keep doing them and will not lose my ability, but will not necessarily try to improve my numbers if that makes any sense.

I did Newport today and almost hit puke factor several times :eek::eek: My gosh this w/o is so fast paced. Used my 8 kg bell for all moves. I can not keep up with Anthony, so I go at my own pace. I also can not do overhead lunges or sots press so I modify those. I did over 3 mins of the snatch test at the end.

Then,........ I did chinups :eek: can you believe how insane is that :p
5 sets of 4 and they felt strong. They were all bump my head on the ceiling and sternum to the bar. I was not pushing to failure. Maybe could've done 1-2 more reps per set. But I've read somewhere not to go to failure all the time.

So there you have it. I wonder why I am so tired

Oh and my DH now wants me to teach him how to swing LOL!!

Catherine, great job on Newport! I haven't even viewed that one yet. I think that is a good plan on the pull and chins. Sounds like you had a good strong day. Are you going to have to fight DH for your KB workouts?

Are you going to have to fight DH for your KB workouts?

LOL, I doubt it. He never does anything for very long. He will do something for a while and then stop.

I really felt good about today's w/o. That's I think the 3rd time doing Newport and it is tough!! I do modify a few moves but still get one hell of a w/o
