Worlds Best Ukulele Player

Completely inspiring!

There are quite a few instruments that seem to earn a lot more jokes than other instruments because they seem kind of silly to us - tubes, accordians, recorders (more than just "Hot Cross Buns"!) etc. It's super when someone comes along and can show the true capabilities of that instrument.

I think I like this version better than the original.
 
I really enjoyed this...this guy is John Scofield of the ukulele...or maybe the Jimi Hendrix (without lighting the ukulele on fire of course).

It's rather ironic that George Harrison loved ukuleles - according to Paul McCartney, at parties he would pass them out to the guests and they would jam! How fitting this recording is in light of that!
George would have loved it!

I knew without looking that the "World's Best Ukulele Player" had to be Jake Shimabukuro. He is a local boy from here in Hawaii and he's only 19 years old.
 
Thanks for that info! I googled him and he has a web site and CD's! He brings out a new one in September, and he tours, but nowhere close to me for the near future.
