Did you use the "insert image" button (looks like a yellow square with a mountain) or just type in the link?

i just did a copy and paste of the link

That might be the problem.

To insert that image, click the "insert image" button, this one:

and paste your link in there. That should work.

ETA: I just tried that with the signature function and that button isn't there. Try pasting your link in the spot where is says "Enter the URL to the Image on Another Website "
