Garance I think our last frost this year was April 10th. That's pretty normal.

Deb I think you mentioned about the workout card. You can now put in the weight you actually used on calendar and it will change all future
cards.

I just finished Disc 2. I think my muscles feel better now than before I started. Imax 2 bothered my knee so I think I will do lowmax instead of kbc tomorrow.

It's Thursday, almost the Weekend!

Good morning!

Just finishes STS disc #9 ( Legs).

Garance, Joan, I swear I will never be able to do those exercises where you use the plate and pick up weights, or the same with the ball against the wall and you pick up weights. I just do it without that part.

Well good news on Kelsey's leg, it is not another torn ACL...just a stretched ligament..we need to treat her just like we did when she was revovering from the surgery, no stairs, no jumping on anything etc, but at least no surgery.

Joan, like Garance mentioned, your area is probably a little warmer at this time of year, we still are in the 40's at night. I can't put any seeds directly into the ground. Doms are good! Thanks for the tip on the workout cards. I will do that before I print the ones I need for next week.

Josie, did you get to go spinning last night? Check your e-mail.

Garance, I think you are right, I will wait at least another week before attempting to plant the zinneas. It will probably rain this weekend anyway. Did you bring the other half of that sandwich home? :eek:.

I will be walking tonight plus abs and lunges. No wo for me tomorrow and the same on Saturday and Sunday. I have a dentist appt. on Saturday and I'm not looking forward to that. I need the deep cleaning this time. I think that I will take my DM to the casino for mother's day. Just the 2 of us no men to follow us aroun.

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie, and Joan--

This morning I did disk 21 for back and bis a second time (60 min.). My biceps are fried. I did the double wave barbell curls, starting with 30, then 32 1/2, then 35 lbs. The double wave on one arm rows, I did 17, then 20, then 22. For deadlifts and barbell rows, I used a 45 lb. barbell. I am still using my bands for pullups and chinups, and doing a couple without any help.

Josie, if you decide to go to La Boeuf a la Mode, it's really easy to get there by subway. If I remember, it's the one that goes uptown on third avenue--maybe the 5 or 6? You should ask your concierge. Also, if you go there you are a couple blocks from this big walkway next to the Hudson River (I used to go jogging along there and walked my dog there). If the weather is nice, it's a beautiful walk--lots of people and very safe neighborhood (Yorkville) because close to Gracie mansion. Gee, I am beginning to feel nostalgic for NYC!! I wish I could recommend a good Chinese restaurant, but they change so fast down in Chinatown. We used to go to this one place where they had a big sea bass done Szechuan style. MMMMM. Then the owner/chef lost the place because of gambling. We also had a favorite place in Little Italy, but the last time we went there it wasn't so good. Pizza everywhere in NYC is wonderful.

My favorite on American Idol was voted off last night. Allison Iraheta. She reminded me of Janis Joplin. Now, I really don't care who wins.

Mother's Day with my MIL. DH and his sister are going to put a meal together for us. Since my sons are coming the following weekend for a big sports banquet (the younger one has been voted into the local sports hall of fame), I won't be seeing them for another week.

Thank you very much for the information. My DH is from NY knows his way around.
I told him that I wanted to go dancing while we are there and shopping. I know about the pizza and the baggels. My favorite thing to do when we arrive is to have dinner at the Garnagie Delli and I usually have the lox with baggels and cream cheese.

Hi,

Just a quick note...

Joan, I entered all my actual weights used in the workout cards for the last 3 STS workouts I did, ( 7,8, & 9), then printed 10,11,& 12 but the actual weights did not show up...there really was no change at all, except for the calc for the 1RM ( which is now 70% instead of 65). I guess I don;t see the point in going back and putting your actual weights used in the program...unless I am missing something?

Had to switch to basic step instead of KPC.

Deb you only need to put in actual if you changed amount of actual lifted and it was different than 65% of 1rm. It would then go in and change your 1rm. There is a change 1 rm button to the right of where you put in actual.

No nap for Elliot today and I was exhausted. She wasn't.

Just finished an I-Tread...wow I am glad tomorrow is a rest day. :D..I really hope we get some nice weather so we can do some work in the yard, DH has an awful cold, so he may want to just rest completely. I don;t blame him. He better not give it to me.:mad:

Josie, Does your DM like going to the casino? If so she will love the plan you have for Mother's Day!

Garance, I can't believe how strong you are getting with STS! I am still doing BB curls with 20 lb BB. Your DH and SIL's plan is so sweet! Is one of the sons that are coming the one getting married in Thailand? Where will they live after getting married?

Joan, Did you have to switch due to DOMS or too tired? thanks for info...I am stuck on the calendar, I can't figure out how to delete a workout. I did not see a button to change 1RM. Is it shown when you add a workout, or when you check it off as completed? Once I put workout in the calendar, you can't get back to it...is is really frustrating!! Kids are so full of energy, they make me tired just watching them!:eek:.

Anyone have any fun plans for the weekend?

When you are on calendar, your wo name should show to the right. There is a box that says show details. On an sts wo it will show a sample of wo card. That is where you will change 1rm. There is also a spot to delete wo. I changed wo because of knee pain.

Happy Friday Ladies,

No wo for me today. I will be getting my hair cut after work and then going out to dinner with DH.

Tomorrow I will only be able to take one spinning class due to a dentist appointment, but will try to take 2 on Sunday.

Deb, My DM loves to go to the casino and since she lives about one hour from Palm Spirngs where there is several, she and my DF go there often. One of my DB's lives near one of the casions and they pick him up on the way. I love going to the casinos with my parents because those two can hang. We can stay up all night.

Garance, You are getting so strong with the STS workout.

This morning I did Kelly C-M's Kickbox (53 min.).

I am going to try to change my cardio next week. I have two new workouts from Kimberly Spreen and Amy Bento. I will have to preview them some time this weekend and choose one of them to do with a different step (probably the combined step routines from 4ds) and a different walk (probably 4 fast miles with Leslie).

I received a gorgeous bouquet of flowers from my sons yesterday for Mother's Day. I won't be seeing them, though, for another week. I may go to a matinee of Star Trek tomorrow, and tomorrow night SIL and her daughter (my niece) are staying with us and we will be going to a musical in which another niece is singing. Sunday DH and SIL are planning something for MIL and moi.

Don't worry, Deb, about the plate exercises. First, you will get better, and second, you don't have to pick up weights when doing them in meso 2. You will be doing 12-10-8 reps in meso 2, so I bet you will increase your weight. Oh--and you also have a minute between each of those reps to refuel (O2 and H20). Don't let DH give you a cold!!

Ahh, Josie, nothing better than H&H bagels, and lox from Zabar's. Or, just ask for a shmear on your bagel. Are you going to any plays? Not that shopping and dancing aren't enough.

I just finished disc 3. I don't know why but I had to pause three different times. I just felt more tired. At least I got it done.

Garance sounds like a good weekend. Ds brought flowers for me today. They will leave noon Sat and be back noon Sun, so we are babysitting Elliot.

Saturday, the day for chores!

Good Morning, ( well it's almost afternoon)

Today, being a rest day for me, I did stuff around here, then went to breakfast with DH and did some computer shopping. It's time to put this old thing to rest. It;s so confusing on what to buy now. We also had to make sure that the components fit into the computer center that we have, so we had to measure everything. We will go back later and finally make the purchase.

Joan, I did finally "get it" on the workout and calendar issues I was having. Then I started having printer issues, and that is what got us out today to look for a new printer as well as the computer.

Josie, how did the haircut turn out? Are you happy with it?

Garance, yes I will be happy with Meso 2. I think I will do what you did and skip the "rest" week. I got my band yesterday, and tried it. I could get my knee in it, and did 3 assisted chin ups. I was barefoot do I did not want to try it with my foot in it. I will wait until I have sneakers on.. I think it will be good. I am almost wondering now why I ordered the tower..oh well.

it's Monday

Good Morning

I did anI-Tread this morning, and the core work from the Fit to dance or whatever it is called.. I like that core section a lot.

I am using DH's laptop so it is difficult to type and I keep making mistakes etc, We got the new computer last night, I hope when we hook it up, I can find all my stuff on it. We paid the Geeks at the Geek Squad to do a data transfer for us. They only transfer documents, no programs, we will have to load all those back on..ugh. At least it will be faster.

I hope everyone had a good Mother's day celebration!
