Hello Ladies. Sorry for not posting lately. I had a Klondike bar today and it was so good. We are still in the process of finishing our basement. We are on a budget, so the last few days we have been trying to decide on the final details. We started on the basement a few years ago doing a little bit each year. My husband also wants to purchase a new tv for the basement. So instead being on the cathe forum, I have been mostly reading about TV. We are totally unsure about all this latest technology. LCD don't come in anything larger than 52 inches and DH wants something larger. Not sure if we want to go plasma. Rear projectors are thinner than they used to be, but not as popular. Rear projector/DLP offer more screen for your bucks though. As you can see, we got a lot of research to do.

Affirm, we have a DLP and I like it, but the lamp is only good for so many hours of use. I forget exactly how many. It's $300 to replace the bulb. Our bulb went out before the first year was up. Thank goodness it was still under warrenty and we didn't have to pay for it. I would check into that before buying one. Ours is at least a couple of years old and they may have improved since then. HTH!!

I think we are learning toward the DLP. I like the fact that they come in larger screens. They are much lighter than the old ones, so that gets DH to take a look at them too. I have done quite a bit of reading lately so hopefully we will make a decision in the next month. The basement should be done in about 2 weeks. We should be ready to purchase TV sometime in March.

Hi ladies. I have a horrible migraine today (ttom is very near so it's definitely hormonal). I had another migraine yesterday which means I have not exercised for 2 days. I took my meds almost 4 hours ago and just *now* they're starting to work which is a little bit frustrating. I'm going to sit down and relax until I get some relief and hopefully I can do a light Firm tape tomorrow. Wow my diet has been incredible lately I have to say. I'm sticking to the one cheat day a week plan and the rest of the week I'm eating pretty clean so I'm happy about that.

Affirm - It's a good thing to do some research before buying a new big screen TV. Read reviews on best buy, walmart, etc. even if you're not getting it from those stores. Recently my RCA died and I was shocked because I thought that big screen TVs lasted for years and years and that one had a little bit over a year. A friend of my dad repaired it for less than $100 which is a bargain, but he said that RCA tvs are not the best quality. I wish I knew that before I spent all that money. I also read some reviews and RCAs have very bad reviews. When I can afford it I'll probably get a better brand (I'm thinking Sony Bravia) even if it is smaller than the one I have.

Catherine - I hope your DH feels better soon. Please take care of yourself as well so you don't catch whatever he has.

Rose, good for you on a tight diet!! Mine has been some better too. But certainly not where I want it to be.

Affirm, how exciting to get your basement finished!! Do you get your own workout space?

Just finished heavy upper body and I am pooped!! DH is still pretty sick. I am washing my hands LOTS!!!

I walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes this morning. I managed to make my way to it.

Fitfairy, we have been working on a basement a little bit at a time over the last few years. The plan was for me to have my own workout space. However, DH purchased this huge used weight machine (got it for really cheap)with benches. That along with my treadmill takes us the workout room. A matter of fact, we didn't get a chance to have the floor done before he got the machine, so it is just concrete. The machine is too heavy to move. It is nice though. As I said, it was so cheap and I was excited that he just wanted to start exercising a year ago. I didn't complain about it because but the room will still be used for exercise. However, I can just continue to use the same space (den area in the basement) for my aerobic workout. Just now it will be finished with a larger TV hopefully. However, I will just store everything in the workout room.

Speaking of the tv Rose. I had an old 20 inch RCA for 16 years before it finally went out last year. I purchased it right after college and it was in my sons room until the day it died. I replaced it with another RCA. I have been doing a lot of reading of reviews on amazon and various forums about tv's.

Affirm, I think 16 years for the life of a TV is pretty good. It'll be nice to have a larger TV in your workout area :)

We got snow and ice last night and our office is on a 2 hour delay. I am so glad, because I know that the patients on my schedule, esp the older ones, won't be making it in early this morining. I am planning on cardio later today maybe 4ds BC??

Today was 30 minutes on the treadmill. Walking will be my form of exercise until I get back to my usual space.

Affirm, nothing wrong with TM walking!!

Rose, are ya still doing ok?

Today I did PS legs (standing portion) and chinups. Tomorrow is a rest day ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Do you all have any plans for Valentines Day?? It's my DH's birthday. He's still sick, so I don't know when we'll celebrate :(

Hey ladies. Wow I'm so much better! Today I did Low Max on a 6" step (not on an 8" yet but it's okay). I did the whole thing! I'm not going to work tomorrow (medical appointment which I scheduled it on purpose to avoid all the chocolate) but I still couldn't avoid the chocolates lol! I had two boxes of chocolates on my desk after lunch. I wonder who left them there hmmm. Whitman's and Rocher chocolates oh man. So I went to mom and dad's and we all ate the Whitman's one (it was a small box but I ate about 200 cals in chocolate!) so I had my cheat day today and tomorrow I'm not going to work so no temptations whoo hoo! I hid the Rocher box so I can eat some of them next week on my cheat day, but somehow I'm balancing the extra calories because I'm eating a big salad with tons of chicken breast and a glass of water.:p Oh and I had a couple of messages on my voicemail for job interviews  (remember when I was sending my resume like a maniac a couple of months ago?) so tomorrow I'm going to check on those calls in the morning so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Affirm - I bought RCA because my dad has one that's 10 years old and that TV is still up and running, but I guess they've changed the quality in the last couple of years. I think that you shouldn't set your mind on a particular brand or model. I suggest that you make a list of the ones you like and read reviews online so you know what to expect.

Catherine - I miss my Cathe strength training workouts. I'm probably starting a PS rotation (with lighter weights) next week. I don't have any plans for V-day. I'll come home and do a Firm tape, wash my hair, and watch some movies. I guess no chocolates for your hubby huh? I hope he feels better tomorrow. Last year I was sick for my birthday and it wasn't fun at all. I hope you can do something for him to cheer him up.

Happy Valentines Day!!

Rose, I am so excited that you've got a few calls for interviews!!!! I am crossing my fingers, toes and anything else that will cross!!!

Eating has been baaaaaad today-lets just leave it at that-K? Today is a rest day and it's a good thing. I am pooped. More brain fried than physically. Not sure why.

Affirm, so do you have a verdict on your TV??

We don't usually do anything special for V-day. It was the typical take the kids to sports practice, etc. I did enjoy 1 piece of small chocolate and it was good.

Rose, I am glad you are doing well with your one cheat day.

Fitfairy, I hope your DH feels better soon.

No verdict on the TV yet. What I would really want is a 58 inch LCD, but they don't make those yet. Which makes me kind want to think of going plasma. New TV's usually come out in March/April, so I am hoping to find some sales on maybe an last years clearance. DH actually has spent less time researching this, so I think I am more knowledgeable about this than him right now. I will definitely update you when I finalize my decision. Basement is coming along, but still have at least a week left. My dog is not liking this as the basement is his hang out area with the kids.

Poor Max is losing his hang out area :( :7 I really want a new TV for my living room which is where I workout. I think I'll get an LCD or put our DLP from the family room in there and get something else for there :+

I am planning some form of upper body today. Not sure what. Also getting hair cut and colored later. I always dread getting hair colored because it takes so long.

Have a good day!!

lol! My one cheat day went down the drain yesterday. I ate pizza and ice cream and some chocolates (yes I know bad). The pizza was with veggies and cheese only and on a thin crust and the ice cream was vanilla and orange sorbet which is about 100 cals per serving. So I tried to make wiser choices even though I knew it was cheating anyway. :p When I added the calories on my journal I was only about 150 cals over what I usually eat so it's not that bad, but today I'm cooking some orange roughy fish (girls you gotta buy this one at Costco it is delicious) with brown rice with veggies and tons of salad. I had a horrible migraine after I got home from the doctor (which by the way was impressed with my quick recovery) so I didn't exercise, but I'm doing a Firm tape today. Another thing, I have three job interviews next week!!! I'm shocked! You're the first ones to know because it's lunchtime and nobody is answering their phones.:p Now I have to talk to my boss and ask for a couple of days off. He knows I've been looking for a new job so it won't come as a surprise.

Affirm - Poor Max! I'm always impressed with animals. It seems like they always know what's going on.

Catherine - How's DH? Is he still sick? Ugh the salon...I have to go at the end of the month. I stopped coloring my hair when I was about 22 and let my natural color grow out because it took so long. Both my mom and dad started getting gray hair in their 50s so maybe I won't see grays for awhile, but when I do I'll start the process again. You'll look great after they're done so don't worry.

Have a nice weekend ladies. I'll make an effort to check-in but I'll be a bit busy doing some reading and preparing for my interviews. Keep those fingers crossed for me.

Rose, I am so happpy you got 3 job interviews!! And don't worry about your cheat, you have been doing great!

DH is slowly getting better, thanks for asking. I didn't workout yesterday. I had planned on it, but got up with a dull headache that turned into a migraine. I took some aleve and some phenergan and took a nap. The headache was better in time for my hair appointment. But I do not exercise on days I've had a migraine.

Affirm, hope you are doing ok.
