STS D16 is done.

Diane Sue - sounds like you had lots of activities going on this weekend. Hope you feel better soon. I am not sure if I will get Cathe's new workouts? I have more than enough. Heck, I still haven't done all the original ICE workouts :( I will wait until I see clips. Even her last few low impact were not really low impact workouts. Like Doreen said, I always can get them for a month OnDemand. I really don't want to buy more workout dvd's, since they are going away. Talked to my kids this weekend about it, they all think I shouldn't buy more dvd's.


Doreen - I am with you on hearing more about the new series. I hope she brings back Loraine, Cedie and Amanda. I also want to do more youtube workouts. If I keep buying more dvd's I will never get to the YT workouts. Yvette is similar in style and it's all free.

I will be back tomorrow after my doc appointment. I am seeing a specialist for my knee.
 
Good Morning!

This weekend I had a chance to play with the Roku streaming stick I had bought a few months ago for a TV we have in our bedroom but wasn't hooked up to cable or anything! I tested it out with the Cathe On Demand free trial (I had to set up a new account) and it works perfectly! So I think I'm going to swap the streaming stick out for the ROKU 2 that I currently have in the basement workout room which won't play OnDemand or Cathe Live. And that means I'm all set up for OnDemand when the new series comes out! Yeah!

Bonus is that I now have 7 free days of OnDemand. So this morning I did STS Total Body. I only did 50 minutes of it as I ran out of time this morning. I realize scrolling through OnDemand how many of Cathe's older series I don't have!!

Doreen - glad you all set up for OnDemand. I probably will sign up for a month once the new workouts come out. I really don't won't to buy anymore workout dvd's. I may change my mind once I see clips and get more details on the new workouts.

Hi everyone.

Saw a Orthpeaedist today. He took more X-rays of my knee. I got a shot in my knee which should help for the pain. If the shot doesn't help I need surgery on my knee. I hope the shot will help for the pain. I can't get surgery with Brawler. DH also needs surgery on his knee, he tore his meniscus two weeks ago. We are doing really well, lol. Brawler weights a lot that doesn't help either for us. It is what it is, right? He also wants me to continue to keep everything low impact, which I have been doing already.

Late check in. I am tired. I did not sleep well. My daughter came over after my workout and we took the children to the library. This morning I did Ripped with Hiit, Low Impaxt 1 and 2 combined, met 6.0, 331 calories,50 minutes, 3,810 steps. I then did Ice Low Impact Seat workout # 1 no warm up, 23 minutes, heart rate average 129, max 173, 147 calories, met 5.8, 1,373 steps. I did 15 minutes of Sarah Beth Yoga on you tube for back pain (it was supposed to be 30 minutes) and stopped when my daughter called to get my bath and put together. That was 33 calories, met 2.0. I did get 10,127 steps so far today. Total workout time was 88 minutes, 511 calories. Tomorrow is a major errand running day for me. Yesterday was family birthday celebrating and I came home and mowed the back and did yard work while husband organized the garage.
Not feeling so well today. My back and hip hurt and my neck is stiff and throbbing. I just iced it and drank some tumeric with coconut milk. Hoping to sleep and not still hurt in the morning. I have no idea what is causing all of it. Maybe all of the weekends sweets set it all off.

Belinda, it depends on the area and how far in the miniscus is torn. If it is an area that can get blood flow it may heal. I am not sure if they know how bad though till they get in there. They just repaired mine. I had to have one steroid injection for the pain that was not going away after surgery. That is too bad that you are both having knee pain at the same time :( That would be a good way to check out the new workouts with OnDemand.

Doreen, I have two Roku Streaming sticks, one that I got when we signed up for a streaming service and prepaid. We also have a Roku 3 on our main television. We want to get a Roku 4. The sticks are handy though when you want to move it from one room to another. I do that for the grandchildren at times so it will go from the sunroom to the guest room. I did have it in my workout room, but my blu ray player streams, amazon, netflix, vudu, and youtube, so I have not really needed the stick in there.

Diane Sue - the meniscus is torn :( I got a one steroid injection for the pain yesterday. My knee hurts worst than yesterday? Weird! I hope it will get better the next few day's. Hope you had fun with your DD yesterday. Be careful with your neck, back and hip. I am not sure if I will sign up for OnDemand? I will wait for reviews first before I decide to buy/or steam. I was really excited about Cathe's last series, they sounded good :) My friend is out of town and gave me her Fit Splits workouts. I can't get myself to do them, the music is horrible and her background exerciser had really bad form not to mention the funny face expressions. Like I said..I will wait for clips/reviews first before I buy.

Doreen - do I need a Roku stick? We have a smart TV.

Belinda- Weird that your knee hurts worse after the shot1 Hope it settles down soon. I don't know about the smart TV - can you add apps or you just get what is preloaded? You might have to contact Cathe's support to see how to stream her OnDemand on a smart TV.

Today I did Party Rockin Step #1, 54 minute, met 6, heart rate average 141, max 177, 357 calories, 4,958 steps. I then did Tracey Long Core Movements, segments core and more and mobility stretch, 16 minutes, 44 calories, 106 steps. heart rate average 98, max 138. I finished with Sarah Beth Yoga You tube 21 minute yoga flow, 51 calories. Total time was 91 minutes, calories 401.

Belinda, I have a smart tv and my blu ray player lets me save some stuff. I can get on the internet with my dvd player and pull up Cathe, but it takes so much work and I am not sure if it would work with the on demand. A Roku stick is low cost so, probably a better way to go. When I streamed, I hooked my cell phone up to the Hdmi with a cable I purchased and streamed that way. I need to try screen mirroring with the tablet. I have not heard anyone mention being able to do it with a smart tv.
I am sorry about the pain being worse. If I remember right I did not get instant relief. I remember the surgeon telling me that in a couple of weeks I would not feel any pain at all and if I did come back. But, this was after surgery. I had the surgery and two months after was still having pain that felt pretty much like before surgery. I only had one injection and I still got some pain here and there when trying to get back into working out. I was too afraid that having no pain would make me think I was all healed and push harder than I should, you know what I mean? I was hoping maybe yours could heal on it's own. The music in most of the newer workouts is not good. I liked the music in the ones that came out with party rockin step, Rockout knockout, etc.. Fit Split has grown on me. I still find Cardio Shred, not a very friendly workout for my knees unless I do some modifying. I still want the new ones though the idea looks good to me. I knew before I got Fit Split that the cardios were much shorter than I was hoping for. I really like the kickboxing one.

Doreen, I saw that there was a free 7 day On Demand. I have the workouts so it doesn't do anything for me. :)
 
Diane Sue - OnDemand sounds complicated. Just to stream I didn't realized I needed to buy/add more gadgets :) The surgeon told me yesterday, some people feel a relieve right away, some feel better a few day's after the shot. And for some people the shot didn't do anything. I will wait an see it may take a few day's to feel no pain. I like the music in XTrain and like you said. Cardio Shred is the one were she is growling around the floor. I am to old for that, lol. Fit Splits isn't a popular series. I am glad I didn't buy them. Like I said have them sitting here and can't get myself to do them. Didn't Fit Split sounded good too ? I probably will not get this set. I will wait for clips/how she puts the premixes together and reviews. It doesn't make sense if I buy more dvd's and not use them. Still haven't used Fit Tower dvd's :( I still haven't used all the original ICE workouts. I need to use what I already have. I was thinking doing KCM workouts next. She has some rotations posted on her website.Maybe I will change my mind and end up doing something else after I am done with STS. I have so many dvd/sets I have never used. I also read that Leslie Swanson is coming out with a new workout series. It's a 15 mile walk :) Good job on your workouts today.
 
Belinda- I would think if you can get to a url on your smart TV you should be able to get to On Demand. Either that or if the Smart TV has the Roku app.

This morning I did the first couple combos of Step Blast and then did a couple combos of Cardio Kicks. I've never done Cardio Kicks before - it was kinda funny to see the old set and to see the young Cathe and Brenda!! I'm not even sure what year that was released to be honest.

I did another Low impact workout from YT plus SBF Spring into the Summer rotation D3 Quick Tabata + Back target. I am really liking YT workouts.

Doreen - I am not very technical when it comes to streaming. I don't need a app for SBF streaming. I don't like using an app on my phone it trains the batteries. One day I will try her free trail. Yeah, those are old Cathe workouts. I found a few old VHS tape at the Goodwill this weekend when Cathe first started out. You talk about young Cathe. Lots of whooping :) I think one is Rock Bottom than the others where Step (I think it was Step in Motion (?). I only paid $0.50 each.

It took awhile to decide what to do for a workout. My grandson came by after the first few minutes to use my printer again. More forms to print up for a job :) My neck is much better, but the back and hip still hurt. What I don't get is both hips feel like I did a tough glute workout> I keep looking over my notes to see what could have set it off. Anyway, I started with Kelly's body design warm up and cardio bootcamp, heart rate average 132, max 167, 110 calories, 17 minutes. I then did X10 low impact only (no w/u or stretch), 12 minutes, heart rate average 138, max 167, 79 calories, I went on to do Kelly's Total Body kickbox workout 1 since I knew it was not a lot of jumping, 29 minutes, 200 calories, heart rate average 147, max 176. I finished off with the Sarah Beth Yoga from YouTube for low back pain 31 minutes, 68 calories. Total time was 90 minutes, calories 457.
I was a bit worried about my low back when carting groceries and the big packs of water around yesterday. It feels better after the stretching and workouts. My neck feels way better, but I could tell with the tiny bit of weight work in X10 that I am not ready for much yet.


Doreen, I used to do Cardio Kicks and the Circuit workout that is on the same dvd a lot. It seems I may have had those on VHS at one time. I had replaced all of the Cathe VHS with the dvds. It was nice that she put a new workout on the dvds with the older ones. Power Max was my first Cathe vhs workout. I have her classics dvd and another one that is 3 older workouts. I picked those up later.

Belinda, when I used my cell to stream I had to plug it in with a charger plug. I really had purchased the cables for my tablet from AMazon and they said it would work for my Samsung tablet, but it did not. It only worked with the phone. I finally used my laptop and an hdmi cable to stream it to the television. I haven't tried it since I got the smart tv. I think I could fairly easily mirror from my tablet to the television, but unless I have it I can't try it :) I hate wasting my time trying to set up something like that when I am ready to work out. IT is a problem when using the phone and you get a phone call.
 
Diane Sue - I am so sorry your back/hip is still bordering you. Take it easy or take a few days off from working out. I will try the HDMI cable if the streaming doesn't work through my tv. Thanks for the tip! I use my phone for SBF streaming when I travel. I just deleted all those extra apps that I never use. It's just draining my batteries.
 
Belinda, so many of those programs have permissions that let them run in the background all of the time. I have Avast security on my tablet and I can stop all of the running apps and many soon are back running again. I can also check and see which ones are draining it the most. I wish that there was a way to stop Facebook running constantly. I don't get on it that much and I stop it running and it is soon back running. It can use a lot of battery and has way too many permissions. I have some shopping apps and they seem to be following me around :( It makes me mad. When I can remember I shut the wifi off when I go shopping except sometimes I want to use it so I can scan product barcodes.
 
Good morning! Today was Fit Tower Total Body. I do like that one. Its the only one of the Fit Tower dvds I've tried since I didn't order that set.

Yesterday at the thrift my husband found a whole weight rack with dumbells included in pairs from 10- 35#. It has pegs on the side for my weight plates and a shelf on top for kettlebells or whatever! I told him to get it for my mother's day present. All of that was only $80! So I spend last night organizing my weights and moving the my old mis-matched set out of the way. Its so much neater than my old set up! I'm going to move the old stuff outdoors for my summer outdoor gym for now until I decide if I want to try to sell some or not.
 
This morning I did Kelly Coffey Cardio Pump, cardio workout #1, 31 minutes, heart rate average 130, max 155, 198 calories, met 5.8, 2,987 steps. I then did Fit Split Low Impact cardio, 28 minutes, heart rate average 128, max 157, met 5.8, 1,730 steps. I finished off with SB Barre Amped lower body stretch , 20 minutes, 44 calories. Total time was 79 minutes, 421 calories burned.

Doreen, that is a great find. I keep thinking I might do the Fit Tower Boot Camp one. I need to look at the moves and premixes.

Diane Sue - I cleaned up all those apps I am not using. Still getting some I don't need. I hear you. It makes me mad too. Great job on the KCM workout today. I will give her a whirl once I am done with STS.

This morning I did Cathe Live Advanced Step. I was doing pretty good until Cathe messed up. I amazed at how she can cue all that and keep it straight for the entire class and mess up only once!
