Cathlete
Good morning!
I'm back!
Warning! Monster post ahead. http://planetsmilies.net/vicious-smiley-1814.gif
http://bestsmileys.com/reading/4.gif
I was in Shanghai. Has anyone ever been? The traffic is a riot. Like, I was car sick the entire trip LOL. http://bestsmileys.com/sick/7.gif
There was one time we were in a taxi and needing to turn left, so the taxi driver prepared to turn left by merging to the far right lane of a 6-lane street LMAO! So we're waiting at the light at the far right, waiting to turn left, and we're all freaking out because nobody in the car speaks any Chinese, when all of a sudden, TAP TAP TAP TAP! And there's a cop at the taxi driver's window. Mind you, there are cars buzzing by at full speed going all directions at once this whole time. Anyway, our taxi driver rolls the window down and for a couple minutes he and the policeman have a yelling match about WTH knows.
Then the cop leaves. And the driver turns the engine off.
http://bestsmileys.com/clueless/2.gif
So we're all sitting there in the cab (it's me and my work partner, plus two guys from London) like, Umm, ladee-dadee-ladee-dah WTH's going on? Meanwhile, millions of cars are racing off from all directions while we are in our taxi, in the middle of the road, with the engine off. And the driver is just sitting there. And I'm starving. And car sick. LMAO!
http://bestsmileys.com/falling/1.gif
It was both funny and not funny all at the same time. We sat there for like ten minutes in the middle of the road with the engine off for no apparent reason. Then the taxi driver turned the engine back on, and turned left from where we were in the right-hand lane, weaving in and out between the other cars zooming by, along with several dozen motorbikes and cycles. Whatever!
Quite the adventure.
Anyway, I'm so happy to be back to normalcy with my squirrels http://bestsmileys.com/sparkle/1.gif. I was so exhausted last night (I got home around midnight from the airport - poor babysitting Mom stayed up late for me to come pick them up), I wanted to play with them some and then go to sleep, but Mooch would have nothing of the sleep part.
I'd fall asleep and then I'd hear Cham yelping "noooooo!" and I'd wake to see that Mooch was trying to do his little mounting thing and grabbing hold of Cham's neck. So I'd pry open his teeth and move him to my other side away from Cham. Then I'd fall asleep and hear Cham yelping "nooooooo!" again, and I'd have to do the de-teeth/neck thing again. It kind of became like a little game allllllll through the night, that nut, Mooch.
That reminds me, they have their operations next Monday. http://bestsmileys.com/crying/3.gif
Anyway, I don't mind the lack of sleep due to my little squirrels. I'm just primarily thankful that they choose to sleep on the bed with me. http://bestsmileys.com/rainbow/3.gif
TERRI - WTH have you been, woman?! LOL. Welcome back! We're so happy to see you again. Of course, don't be intimidated by long, dreary posts and think you must post them, too. Any kind of post is fabulous.
While I was in Shanghai, I was told that I should use the word "fabulous" more often because "August, darling, everybody LOVES to be called fabulous!"
JEN - So anyway, as I was saying, I'm so glad to hear that you did get together with this guy and that you ended up having a good time. That's great that the conversation flows so easily. Maybe he'll have some interesting tips for your working out (or is he just owning the gym?).
>Got my hair done tonight
Did you get it trimmed? Or something new?
Does Storm get shrimp every day? It's a treat?
>somewhat "full of himself and set in his ways" were her words, but really cute!
LMAO. What an interesting thing to say to try to set you up. But he's a vet. That could be...convenient LOL. On second thought, I'm not much for guys who are full of themselves. Not that I'm the one being offered the set up LOL.
MICHELE - WTH is a salt delivery?!
>I'm not starting my rotation until Sunday
This is a new twist. What's going on. Something must be going on LOL.
So did you go to.... MMGHH? I'm praying. (Oh! I've read that my prayers were answered! Yay! LOL.)
I'm sending good vibes out to your sister. That must be such a process - so much to be done....and so much to be felt. I hope it will go as smoothly as possible for all involved.
That's wonderful news about Nancy and her last chemo treatment. How really great that things are going so well.
Hey, guess what I bought in Shanghai? I bought Seasons 1-5 (or was it 6) of MONK on DVD (Chinese cheapo DVD - I hope nobody is offended by that - not the word cheapo, I mean buying those fake DVDs)! I also got the complete FRASIER box set, so I have like 100 DVDs now LOL. They were dirt cheap and I just couldn't resist.
Wish your DH a wonderful birthday! The restaurant will be fantastic, I'm sure! I hope you try the fish!! http://bestsmileys.com/fishing/1.gif
>creamy milk chocolate bar releases chunks of buttery sweet toffee
OMG.
>I'm frankly really enjoying all this dating talk.
Me, too, though I'm a bit perturbed by the lack of nitty-gritty information. LOL.
I'm just now reading your latest post about your lovely birthday dinner at the French bistro.
Ooh, orange cheesecake. Somehow that makes me want to eat a Creamsickle.
>I would rather do an IMAX 3 cardio marathon than eat a piece of seafood
Take that back! Take that back! You can't mean that!
You must have had some really awful seafood in your life. You MUST come visit me here in Tokyo, and I will get you some killer fish. You don't even like grilled salmon?
>Now we need to find a date for Augie
http://bestsmileys.com/blushing/6.gif
>I'm starting that Look Great in 8 (LGI8) rotation tomorrow
http://bestsmileys.com/cheering/1.gif Yay, Michele!!
>It will be your duty to hold me accountable, K?
http://bestsmileys.com/army/8.gif YAY!
ROBIN - I watched a show once about why oftentimes when your nose gets stuffed up, it's stuffed up in only one nostril. Well, apparently, your nostril workmen take turns so as not to exhaust. Even when your nose isn't stuffed up, although you're not aware of it, you're always breathing deeper through one nostril while the other is "resting."
Fascinating, I know http://bestsmileys.com/freak/5.gif . And off the TV, so it might not even be true. But I'd been waiting months to be able to write out that useful bit of information. I thank you.
By the way, the cool avator is great! What a fantastic present!
>Greyor passed his hearing test!!
WOO HOO! Great news!
SHELLEY -
>tomorrow's workout is supposed to be yoga, but who the hell does yoga?
LOL.
Eww, dizzy is never good. It's an all-the-time dizzy, or it comes and goes? Have you had that before?
I've just read that it's an inner-ear infection. Uck. How does one get an inner-ear infection? Have you had one before? What do you need to do for it?
DANA - You, too, on the dizzy? That's awful! Could yours also be an ear infection?
>The other day I felt something wet on my arm and it was a very wet stuffed animal. He told me, "I give it bath". Then when I asked him where, he says, "in toilet" "all clean".
OMG. LMAO. And the "ahhh, refreshing/disgusting" bit was great. How funny that he would think to change the word to disgusting at his grandma's. I hope your mom laughed, too!
Anyway, I'm glad to hear that Ralphie is back to his old self. Is his fur growing back all right?
>before I met my DH I was always attracting weirdos.
LMAO!
JENNIE - You know, I've been very inconsistent with my eating and working out for the past number of months, after having been very, very clean and consistent with both for two years. And yet, oddly, I feel like my muscles are still hanging in there, and I'll bet yours are, too. So don't you think you've melted all your hard work down with some extra weight. It's just a simple matter of being more consistent with your cardio, or else a little bit more conscious about eating a smaller portion. No problem and you'll be feeling better soon. Even just a little effort will make the change that will inspire you to want to be more consistent. Hey, you're here, and that's a huge start.
>August, why do you call your cats squirrels?
You know, I don't know how that got started. At first I think it was because I wasn't really planning on talking about the kittens here, and so I figured it wouldn't be talking about them if I didn't call them kittens LOL.
Funny thing happened on our way back to Tokyo from Shanghai with these British guys, we got to talking about pets, and one of the guys told me he has a dog, and then he says,
"Oh, I cannot wait to get home to my little bunny!"
You can imagine my surprise and happy response,
"And I can't wait to go home to my little squirrels!"
I wonder why that is.
DIANE - Glad you're all right! Wow, only three more weeks?! I can't believe it!
JENNIFER - Urgh, contacts from weirdos. I hope it's at least mildly entertaining. http://bestsmileys.com/dancing/8.gif
I'm sorry to hear about your friends' parent passing. And from cancer. That's really such an awful thing to have to deal with. I send good vibes.
>Seville and Madrid bought me a love gift this morning-a dead mouse.
Awwww, aren't they cuties! Luckily, we've not had any mouse over here. Sometimes Mooch brings me his fur puff ball LOL. He'll come up to me while I sleep (thank you) and he'll be munching down on his fur ball and doing his little grrrrrrrrrrrr. I'll wake up and see his spiddled toy in front of my face.
What's this you say, a lost post?! Urgh! How on earth does that happen?!
>any good cat stories?
Well, let's see. I did a big litter box cleaning at Mom's while the 4-some were at my place. As soon as I got them back to Mom's, I decided it would be good to also wash out the water fountain, so I let them go inside and I started in on the fountain. I noticed that Mom's two squirrels went straight for their ultra-clean litter box.
After some time washing out the fountain, I became aware that there wasn't any noise coming from the litter box, so I went to go check things out.
When I peeked in the box, there were Yoyo and Lulu....but the litter box was completely empty because I had totally forgotten to put new litter in! They were standing in there kind of prancing around in circles with a bit of a panicked look on their faces, those cuties, I felt so bad! And yet I laughed so hard.
They were like, "OMG, WTH?! Um,...um....um....WTH? WTH? W--T--H--?!"
http://bestsmileys.com/hyper/1.gif http://bestsmileys.com/hyper/1.gif
Needless to say I rushed my butt to get new litter in, and the moment the litter went down, they were all "OUTTA MY WAY WOMAN!!"
I can't believe they held it that whole time. I felt so bad! LOL.
All right all, I did my arms and abs today and followed it with an egg white on whole wheat mini-sandwich. Ched was involved.
Have a wonderful Sunday and an equally grand ...no, FABULOUS! start to your week!
http://bestsmileys.com/family/1.gif
Here's me babysitting all 4 squirrels today while Mom goes out for lunch with friends.
