Chinups are Serious Business!!

Now that I have your attention LOL!!

Whose out there doing chinups!! I mean come on brag about it. They ARE HARD!!!

I took an extra rest day yesterday. Was scheduled to do B&G and pullups. But just needed a rest.

I did upper body today. I seem to be stagnant on my bench. Can not move up x(

Bench: 70# 1 set of 6, 2 sets of 5 and 2 sets of 4
DB Row 43.75# 3 sets of 8 (previous 42.5)
Millitary Press 55# 4 sets of 6 (previous 55 2x5, 2x4 & 1x3 same wt)
Skull Crushers 16.25 5 sets of 5 (previous 2x5,3x4 same wt)
Incline Biceps 17.5 3 sets of 6 (previous 16.25 3x8)
Pec Flies 20# 1 set of 6, 1 set of 4, 2 sets of 5
I am FRIED!!!!

I will get back to chinning on Wed with legs.

How's everyone else doing??

Hey Catherine-

I haven't been working on my chins as I am letting my wrist heal a little longer. Hope to get back at it soon. Great job on your workouts. And, I love the title of the thread.

Hey Joanne!! I do hope your wrist is better soon. And thanks for the "good job" I've been working hard to increase my wt work and build some strength. But man it's tough!!

I did lower body today S&H format, but my own tempo. Did chinups between sets of leg work. I did 14 total chinups 5,4,3,2. Not as strong on my chins today :( Honestly though it may be from lifting the heavier barbell over my head for leg work???

Squats: 60# 3 sets of 8 (same)
RDL: 65# 3 sets of 9 (I know they aren't in S&H, I added them)
Lunges: 55# 2 sets of 8 (same)
Plie Squats: 43.75 3 sets of 8 (that's up 3.75#s)
Calf raises: 27.5 3 sets of 20 (up 2.5 #s and I varied the sets)

BTW at the end of squats while I was changing wts I realized that I was squating with 65#. But it was lopsided with 5 extra pounds on one side x( I knew something did seem right :D

Been a busy week. I love the title too! I'm enjoying reading your weight workout diary Catherine. My shoulders are sore from my last heavy shoulder workout.

Did chins yesterday - not many though. I'm so draggy!!!! Waves to Joanne and all other chinners who might be reading!!

A lopsided barbell would definitely present challenges. Have a great week guys!!

Is really worried about Soooooooooooosan and hopes she shows back up soon :(

I did B&Gs standing leg portion only. I did add extra walking lunges and firewalkers }( I also did ME abs. I have been the Ab queen these last couple of weeks LOL!! I will do some pullups later.

Wow Catherine....you're doing pullups now on the chin site!!!! You are awesome.

Yesterday morning I did PowerYoga #2 Tone (bryan kest) and then went for an 11 mile bike (hilly terrain) and after I read about all of Catherine's ab work I did SJP abs and plank work at 11 pm. (you obviously REALLY motivated me Catherine!!!:7 ) Thanks!!!!

You guys must be getting really excited about the RT!!!

RDLs 70# 3 sets of 8(increase of 5 pounds)
Lunges 55# 2 sets of 8 50# 1 set of 8 (added 3rd set)
Plie Squats 43.75# 3 sets of 8 (same)
Calf Raises 27.5# 3 sets of 20

I am wiped out after that LOL!!

Hey Chinners! I am so sorry you guys have been worried about me! I was so buried in work and other stuff and then we went to the beach for a week where there was no internet, and I just never got around to even lurking until now. I even just realized Cathe has a new series! How awesome!

I hope all is well with you all. We have a family visiting us from Atlanta until Thursday so I won't be able to post much until then (but I'll try). I'll be back posting about all the chin-ups I'm not doing after that.:)

Just a little over a month until the road trip! Catherine and Joanne, are you excited? What have you guys been up to? How about you, Briee?

I've missed you and hate that you were worried about me for no reason.
 
Just finished pullups 3,3,2,2,2,2,&2 for a total of 16. That's one more than last week. Ahhhhhhhh progress!!

This morning I did B&G mix-n-match. I did squats, DL, one-legged squats, firewalkers and walking lunges and repeated that. I did 12# on one-legged squats and did as many as I could during the time frame (did not do the lowends/pulses). On walking lunges, I just did regular walking lunges with 12# dumbells. After that I did SP&J step combos and BC abs.

Now I can rest LOL!! Actually I am planning a recovery week here real soon. Just can not figure out when!!

Soooooooooooosan's back!!!!

I WAS SO WORRIED, DID YA GET MY EMAIL??? I won't go on and on, but I'm relieved to know that you are okay. Bet ya had a blast at the beach - in a bikini no less:7 :7 :7 :7 ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) !!!!! Enjoy the week with family and get back over here when they are gone girl.

I just came home from doing my second triathlon. My muscles are in a state of rebellion right now - I'm tired, but feel great. It was a sprint tri and this was their first year doing it here in Ontario Wisconsin so it was fun to be part of. (canoe, bike, run - I don't think I could ever compete in a swim leg - I'd probably drown). So glad you are all doing well and at least Catherine is chinning!!!! You must keep this up Catherine or else we'll lose our name. Lord knows I haven't touched my bar in quite a few days...but I HAVE been working out more often. Even did BK power yoga #3 this morning before the tri. (posted that for you Soosan :7 ) I've been doing yoga about 2-3 times per week lately and feel wonderful...and that's the last time you'll hear that}( }( }( }( }( . Joanne...what ya been up to???

Thanks for the encouraging words Catherine. I'm bumping this thread up to say Have a Happy Fourth of July to all you chinners and non chinners alike!!!!

I did a hilly 13 mile bike yesterday and CM #1 at night. I NEED more core work!!!!! My shoulders are still a tad sore, I think, from the canoe part of the tri. The river was so low this year - when we pulled up at the shore I told them "next year I'm running the river instead of canoeing it!!":7 :7 :7 :7 :7

So what should I do tonight????? Hmmmm.

I know what you mean about needing more core work!!

I did IMAX2 this morning. This evening I did one of the coremax premixes and Letting go of the Day from Yoga for Relaxation. Tomorrow I will do legs and chinups!!!
