i just read a post on a Video Fitness Webboard on how to make a body bar.....and save lots of money...This fellow who posted said he paid about $5.00 a bar....
Call a local metal shop/ steel fabricator and request a 4 foot piece of hot rolled steel.
The rolled steel bar comes in different diameters and each diameter is going to be a different weight for 4 feet..
So tell them what you want.
3/4 inch bar will be 6 pounds
1 inch 10.6 etc.
1 1/2 inch 24 pounds.
Then add rubber crutch tips...
You can use pipe insulation to cover the bar...
( i think i will get bike tape instead)
I have called several metal shops and find it will cost me about $10.00 a bar.....I dont know why i am not getting his price but it might be i live in a smaller town.. still at 10 a bar I can have several bars guilt free.)
I hope this makes some one else pleased too!
Thanks B.W. on Video Fitness.
