Anyone here an occupational therapist or a speech pathologist?

I'm looking into career opportunities that work with special needs children. I've been contemplating special education a lot, but want to learn about other related careers as well. Could you post some pros and cons to these careers. I really want to get a feel about them. I intend to follow an occupational therapist, a special education teacher and a speech-language pathologist to get a better perspective.

any tips?

Hi Julie,

I'm none of the above but am the mother of 4 sons, 2 of which have special needs. Those 2 sons lives have been and are sooooo enriched by the truly caring, dedicated therapists in their lives. I applaude your desire to follow this path and assure you although the work isn't easy by any means, I can't imagine it being anything but rewarding. I am always touched by the range of emotions the therapists reveal when the smallest of milestones are reached by their clients.

Best wishes in your decision and endeavor.:)
