40's, July Firecrackers

Mary, were the stepping stones non slippery this trip? Glad you are back and WTG on workout everyday! I had to come back to post my LMAO moment of the day that I just noticed while cleaning up and filing.

Jody! Congrats! Funny you should bring the slipping up! (But more important, that you remembered!). I did it again! Didn't fall, did the splits! Haha, paid for that for 3 days! Different spot tho!

I did a 2.6 mile dog walk, then XT HS, then lots of housework (3000 steps per my fitbit!)

I'm typing via Tapatalk on my new tablet/laptop (windows surface3), and I can't see what others have said so I have no idea what to say for personals!

I do remember Jody's award (you should be proud), and that Mary's back (welcome back).

Oh, while I did all the housework (bathrooms/vacuuming/mopping) DIL knew I was doing it and didn't offer any help, guess she figured they didn't contribute to the mess in the main floor. I did vacuum my little w/o area in basement as it had too much dog fur and I had my face on the rug doing my T and Y exercises (trying to do those for posture).

hi all. tried another piyo but just cannot get into it. if I was a fan I would love this series. I can see how people like it. I ended up doing 4ds kb, one of my favorites. I am renting some other dvd's and will let you know what they are as they come in.

sorry for lack of personals - running late as usual.

waves to all,
murphy

Hi all

I'm back. Had a great weekend but am feeling it a bit now! Went out for a fantastic vegetarian meal on Saturday night. Some of the best food I've ever had. Also did some shopping in some really nice quirky, individual shops. Then the party on Sunday night which was a success. Came back via a nature reserve yesterday and had a nice walk.
DD also had a great time in Paris but she's shattered. Came home early from school today.
Did MMA Fusion today as I couldn't manage anything more!

Murphy - I'll have to have a look at Piyo.

Lisa - that's a good thing then if you're not needing to nap as much, perhaps you're on the final stretch! (no pun intended!)

Mary - sounds like you had a great time. (Apart from the fall, no hip damage I hope!)

Jody - wel dun on yur excellant werk, your a brillant studant ...

Ha ha, thanks Ronne! and welcome back. It sounds like a lovely trip. I am longing for a nature outdoor excursion. What made the food special? Prep or type of cuisine? Hugs to dd, mine would be useless after such a trip.

Murphy, "one of my favorites" is probably a great place to start back getting into it anyway! Sorry PIYO not working for you. I wonder if Lisa will like it?

Lisa, have you had a chance to try PIYO? : )

Mary Mary Mary, what the heck? That is crazy that you had another wipe out just after being on crutches for a few weeks! I am glad you are ok. I bet everyone had a good time up there. I got a Tonique. IDK why!

So, today was CLB and I tried a little Bellyfit Water. Yesterday eve I did 40 min of cardio dance porn workout thing. It was the goofiest thing ever, yet fun. I would have done better but I don't have any leg warmers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsVp7wRWG7I

Hi everyone! Busy day so far, PT this morning, then had to see surgeon. Well, doing well, however bursitis in left hip, if right hip isn't feeling better in 6 weeks, MRI and then surgery on that side. Tomorrow is mammogram and teeth cleaning. Good Lord, I'm done with doctors! I can't stand being looked at! Murphy, is it the workouts or the instructor? I don't care for Chalean too much. Ronne, again the perfect weekend! Lisa, I have the Cathe app to post and can't see the posts either, makes my memory work harder! Jody, you always give me a laugh, thank you! Have to go get an upper body workout in, please prayers for a clean mammogram. They always make me so nervous, thank you! Mary

Took another 2.6 mile dog walk, then 30 min on the spin bike (pedal power), haven't done that since early recovery time after surgery when I ditched it since my body wasn't ready for it, well, so far I think it's going good. Unfortunately muscle from neck to shoulder, left, not feeling good, I think it was the little bit of triceps dips I did in XT HS yesterday (and I didn't even do them all), was at massage lady today talking to her (I didn't get massage, dh did), and she said that that is probably going to be 'my thing', 'my thing' meaning, what after effects I will have for life.... boo.... in past I never liked triceps dips so now I have an excuse! Haha. DH went in for lower back massage, his QL muscle is the culprit (like it was in my back... my back is all better now), his is higher up, like where thoracic means lumbar of spine, mine was middle of lumbar (and we think from surgery), his is caused from airline seats and sitting at computer.... accumulation over time and the fact the old body doesn't recover like in days of our youth. I told massage lady, now that you know how bad his muscles were, can you quantify that in revelance to what I had :). she said, oh my, what you had was the worst by more than you can imagine. HEy, see, I'm not a wimp like I'm made to feel (like by my sis).

Mary, found out how to split my screen on this laptop so I can. Bring up tapatalk app and have the forum up in IE so I can see what everyone said! Good luck on mammon! hummmm, for some reason computer adding n at end of that (will have to figure out how to keep that from happening on here). I'm confused as to sides of hip, which did you just have surgery on?

Murphy, PIYO came today, I will try it out tomorrow, hope I like it. I know our tastes differ in w/o's so maybe I'll like it.

Ronne , MMA fusion is a lot! Those drop and rolls, ugh! That stays on my shelf!

Jody, I wanna be a fly on the wall and see you doing those "different' workouts .... LOL.

Hi all

Lisa - did it feel good to get back on the bike? I had a little look at one PiYo workout online, looked a bit boring and repetitive but it was only one!

Mary - flippin' heck! You're getting everything done at once aren't you?! Hope all clear for mammogram and good news for hip.

Jody - I've seen that workout before, how did you manage to do it without cracking up?! Re the restaurant, it's a high-end restaurant, so like haute cuisine with veggies. Loads of unusual ingredients, beautifully cooked and presented. I'd go there all the time if I lived nearby!

Back to normal today. Did YBB 2. Going to be busy with work for the next couple of weeks, before winding down for school holidays.

A low energy day for me today. I did 2.9 mile dog walk, then started on Piyo. Reviewed the fundamentals... uh, she just really went over yoga poses (maybe some with her flare on them), I did like her showing the modifier and explaining the modifications. Then tried the Lower body (25 min), I did sweat, but I sweat easily. Felt more yoga-wish and I had a hard time even just holding my arms out for warrior poses (why I didn't like yoga). She doesn't hold the poses long which I like and I guess that's where the PIlates part comes from. I may skipped the Upper body one tomorrow (been having issues), so the next one is Sweat (I'm sure I will) .

Ronne, I did enjoy the bike, and enjoyed even more skipping the standing leg drills and making it only 30 min :). My legs are a bit tight today from it so I really didn't enjoy the PIYO too much, but then maybe it's just what I needed :)

Murphy, I can't remember which PIYO w/o's you've tried. I.can see where it isn't up your alley. I'm forcing it into mine :). I much prefer my Pilates reformer.

I have the weight loss machine turned on, woot! I think the extra cardio is helping, so I'm not feeling bad about taking it easy today.

I did Intensity, just the step part. I'll count it as a sub for HS cardio only.
Mary, did everything go ok? Prayers ~~
Ronne, sounds yummy. I have some veggie cookbooks on request at library.
Lisa, I read the Sweat PIYO was enjoyed by many.
I have really enjoyed some down time for past month but it is time to face some new challenges and take on some new stuff. I'll keep ya posted.

Hello! Today did hiit 30/30 on the bike and PT stuff. Teeth cleaned, no news regarding mammogram. That's good, right? Jody, what's in your plans for a challenge? Work related? Work out? Personal? Lisa, I don't think I would like piyo. Besides the instructor, I'm not too keen on Pilates. Ronne, any trips planned for break? Hello Murphy! Regarding hips, had surgery on left, now that has bursitis. Right side they aren't sure if the pain is from over use or if the labrum is torn. MRI will probably be done next month. Have to figure out dinner, bing watching Grey's Anatomy from the beginning with kids on netflix! Talk to you tomorrow, Mary

No news is good, Mary I think. Usually if they see something they get a followup right away, depending on the center. I've got an interview tomorrow for a per diem job but they have other positions that he semi offered me already, so I'm thinking about how I am car sharing w/ my dtr, the drive to this facility is a long drive, working night shift, growth potential, other opportunities that are closer to home but kinda meh. Plus interviewing fear and self sabotage. Anxiety. Sheesh, I picked RT so that I could work 3 days and dance 4 but turns out that paying the bills is cool too. I don't like commitment yet I like regular and routine.

Hello ladies

Jody - Intensity is a good sub for HS. Good luck with thinking things through!

Mary - is this problem with your hips genetic, from an accident, overuse? Do the doctors know? You bear up remarkably cheerfully. You asked about holiday plans, we're off to France in a month. Also going to be doing some other bits and pieces over the 6 weeks.

Lisa - the bit I saw did look like messed about yoga with loads of repetition. I'd rather just do yoga, but I know you're not a fan so it might be better for you.

Having a bit of a low energy day myself. Got a lot of work on which makes a difference. Did a Jessica Smith online thing, band fusion something or other. It was really good, tougher than it looked, just swanning around with a band.
Having one of those I don't know what day it is weeks, being off on Monday really threw me so I've been a day behind all week, and DH is working at home today which he sometimes does on a Friday, so now I think it's Friday!

Morning! Today did bike, PT, heavy bag bonus from RK. Jody, I know your personality will shine through in the interview! You will be an asset where ever you choose to work. Ronne, France! Where? I dream through you! I was born with dislocated hips, wore braces. All was well until last pregnancy. Guess past is catching up with me! 49 years later! Lisa, I was thinking, a 3 mile walk doesn't sound low energy! Hi Murphy! Have to go get DD, pool day, the rain finally stopped! Mary

Today only a 2.25 mile dog walk, then PIYO Define UB and PIYO Sweat and then 15 min jumping on the jumpboard of the reformer. 1st off there are lots of triceps pushups in PIYO, but there is the modifier there and she stresses you don't have to go all the way down, so I think it is good reminder and I did feel it some in my triceps and not my top shoulder to neck. UB had some core in it IMO, Sweat was good (I kept sticking to my mat and dripping sweat on my mat so had to keep wiping it off so I wouldn't slip, not sure I'll use the mat again).

Jody, DIL and I compared fitbit stats (hee hee her sleep was only 5.5 hers last night), anyway she got me to start logging my foods. 3 yrs ago when I started fitbit for a week (returned to store as it broke), logging foods was harder, so now that it's pretty easy I'm doing that to be accountable for my food. (I'll probably cut/paste this to DBRT checkin :). ) It sure is getting me moving a bit more, last night had to get in more steps, so took suki out for a walk and saw a car upside down (no other car in sight, looked like it hit a tree (not that big of one either), and the curb and flipped. So, had I not needed steps and taken Suki out, I would have missed that excitement :). I'm sure you will make the right decision on job front, but sending you lots of good luck vibes :)

Mary, the past likes to catch up to us! IT's even catching up to DH since he has to stretch or else his back hurts. I skipped stretching yesterday and woke up in middle of night with pain in lower right back, had to pull out the heating pad. These muscles get so much less flexible as we age, boo! You do have such a wonderful attitude though. Maybe I'm just too transparent, when I hurt, EVERYONE knows it :). The 3 mile walk felt low energy because I felt like I had cement boots on and bricks in my britches!

Ronne, I do think the piyo will be better for me, yoga just put me to sleep too much, too antsy, too many other things to do!

A big wave to Murphy!

Hi guys,
Lisa, a thing I liked about Bellyfit was the woo woo chakra mudra bits so we'd probably like a different flavor of yoga from each other. You are using your fit bit to track food? It is easier with the latest type? Were there responders at the accident? Thanks for the well wishes.

Mary, my interview was 3 hours long! I'm not sure what shined through or if he was just trying to make sure I wasn't a bad investment. We are getting rain showers just about everyday lately.

Ronne, that has been my experience w/ Jessica Smith's on youtube, it looks like should be easy (lol, just swanning around) but they get in there.

Where is Murphy, we are due for a drive by!

OK, so long interview, much longer than anticipated but that was b/c I was off topic regarding the field and asking questions and starting conversation about licensure in other states and stuff at the beginning. I was offered per diem position and "the other positions are hired from the per diem pool" so I didn't really have to make any decisions anyway. Hopefully everything goes well from here. I'm scheduled to work Fri and Sat days for another person at my current job, but have already been cancelled. Might hit the beach in the morning. No workout to report. DD had friend over and they were in my workout area. I shoulda gone for a walk or something but I'll give AOLIH a good go tomorrow instead.

Here's Murphy. Did a Chris Freytag Hiit total body today. It is from the American Council on Exercise. It is a good recovery dvd. It felt like beginner-intermediate Cathe. There are 3 more on the dvd, UB, LB and Core. I feel like I am getting back into the game.

Mary - I hope you are feeling better today with the hips.
Jody - I hope things work out on the job Front.
Lisa - glad you found something you like.
Ronne - I too live/travel through you.
Roxie - waves to Roxie.

Murphy

Murphy, I just bought that DVD from TF but haven't rec'd it yet. I'm hoping that the latest Flextrain DVD's or at least some of them, will be on sale and I can pre order next series and get some of the last. STS squat rack dvd on sale today.

Hello

Murphy - I saw the clips of that one on Collage, it looked good.

Jody - wow, 3 hours that's a long time. Hope it leads to something more permanent. There's a lot of cancelling isn't there? I'm planning to get a couple of the new series when I preorder as well.

Lisa - impressive selection of workouts!

Mary - hope the pool was good.

Did Rumble today. Enjoyed it more this time, put more work in and felt it in my core. Going to the pub tonight to meet some parents from school.
Quietish weekend planned. Got Sunday to myself so planning to do some yoga then go to the cinema.
