45 min. steady state run/cycle

Cathlete
I am doing the lower body bonanza this month and yesterday was a 45 min. steady state run. My question is this I did a 5 minute warm-up and then I would do a steady state run for 10 minutes (Sorry all I could handle) fast walk for a couple minutes then back up to a run for 10 minutes up to 45 minutes then I did a 5 minute cool-down My treadmill says I burned 436 calories. Do you think that this is still good even though I did not do the 45 steady did I hurt my rotation any I have to do it again next week and week 4.

Question 2: Next week I can do cycling for 45 minutes what If I do this on a bicycle outside would I need to go longer?

Thank You so much.

Beth,

That was a great workout and can be considered steady state...anything you do that doesn't sky-rocket your heartrate will do. I say great job!!

Also...cycling next week for 45 minutes will work as well...of course you will cover many more miles because you move faster on a bike. Just keep a good and consistent level of effort and you will be good to go.

Way to go!!

>>You are a runner.

well I wouldn't go that far? (ha, Ha)

2 times in a week and a half. That's more than I've done in two years. Maybe it's the start of something new.
