Smile recommendation for shoes

Hello,
I plan to start Cathe's videos at the end of the month. I'm wondering if anyone has recommendation for the best shoes? I'm due for a new pair anyway.
I've done Turbo Jam, Jari Love and P90X. I can't wait to try Cathe's workouts. By watching her video clips I can tell her workouts are tough. I'm ready to do my best to accomplish my goals. My goals are to get toned and have that "cut" look. Any recommendations on which DVDs I should start with?
Are there DVDs that do not require bunch of gym equipment?
I only have dumbells and a yoga mat right now.

I'm a big fan of Asics shoes. I just received this pair for Christmas: ASICS Gel-Upshot

I really liked that the shoe was made for plyo training, interval training and the like. Perfect for my Cathe workouts! I've been wearing them about a month now and have no complaints. I was long overdue for a new pair of cross trainers, so these feel like heaven on my feet.

Hi there,

Can I suggest that you place this question on the Open Discussion Forum? You will get WAY more feedback........the masses don't really come here. There are many Cathlete's that will come up with great suggestions for you.

With regards to your goal of getting lean & toned (cut), how many DVD's are you willing to purchase? Would a rotation be suitable? Here are Cathe's rotations:
VIDEO & DVD ROTATIONS - The Cathe Nation

Her best and most regarded strength training series is STS. If you are able to invest in this series, which is a bit pricey, you will get amazing results as far as muscle tone. I have not done the program, but if you need to ask questions, Open Discussion is your best bet.

Also, do you want to add cardio to your program? Cathe's cardio IMO is probably one of the toughest you'll ever do. If you are advanced and looking for a serious challenge, you've come to the right place. Most of her cardio involves a step but you can find some that is just floor cardio. I believe this will assist you in shedding body fat while increasing muscle definition when used in conjunction with her strength training.

If I could also suggest you purchase a total "series" to save money instead of buying the DVD's individually (or you can download the workouts which is cheaper). Each series will give you cardio & strength based workouts. You can follow a rotation for that "series" and watch your body transform. You will not be disappointed. For example: Cathe Friedrich - Hardcore Series. Unfortunately, some of these workouts involve a step, but if you can invest in one, it will be very worthwhile.

Good luck & take care

Natasha

Default shoe and DVD recommendations

Thank you both for replying! I'm new to this site so not sure where to post my questions. Asics sounds like a good choice!

Natasha, your suggestions are very helpful! Looks like you're a pro. Thank you very much. I will definitely look into the DVDs you recommended. I plan to do both cardio and weight lifting. I have fat to shed. I was in better shape before my son was born. With being older I have to work much harder to have the body that I want.

Thanks again and have a good day!

Another vote for Asics Gel Upshot. I got them a couple of months ago & absolutely LOVE them!
