Opinions and feedback about Crosstrain Xpress? Is it a must-have? Do the workouts feel dated? Do you reach for it still, or does it gather dust?
I have almost all of Cathe's workouts (except STS and most Shock Cardios) so I'm not short of Cathe workouts, and I just pre-ordered the new workouts! But CTX is one set I don't have yet, and it's on sale, plus an extra 20% off any order over $50. I sort of wish I had added it to my pre-order to get free shipping too, but I haven't decided yet if I want it. What say you, CTX-owners? ![]() |

Hello
! IMHO, CTX is one of the best series that Cathe has. It's great as produced and it is great for mixing & matching and using as add ons to other workouts. It doesn't have premixes but it is chaperted. It does come with 2 premixes-type workouts upper body(all 5 weight segments strung together), All Abs. The weight segments are effective. The ab routines are excellent. If you like step, it has 3 great step routines. If you like kickboxing, it has 2 great kickboxing segments, one of which is 30 min long. If you like hi/lo, there are 2 great hi/lo segments. Oh and it has Leaner Legs! The energy, the music, and the feel of this series is great. I never tire of it and when I'm not doing STS strength, I use it, in some form or another, weekly. The step routines are fun, fairly easy to learn, and are good solid cardio. Actually, all of the cardio in CTX is great. Power Ciruits is my favorite workout from CTX, followed closely by All Step, and Kickbox. This is just a few reasons why I love CTX so much. If you haven't looked at the video clips, I recommend you do. You'll get a feel how the workouts look and sound. The descriptions of these workouts are very informative too. When I first bought CTX I wasn't sure about it but I have not once regretted my purchase and like I said, I use it weekly some how, some way. HTH!! |

Hi Bobbi-B,
I just picked up CTX along with some of the other specials in June, B-Day Season & all, yes, It's a season now..... I had the same thoughts, it's a good price now, you probably couldn't get it anywhere else cheaper, I haven't done it yet, it's in my next rotation, comes up about 3 weeks from now, I viewed it several times, and those girls are movin' in the cardio, major incentive for me, plus the mix and match week long, set up on two discs, I'd go for any step right off the bat for the agility, coordination, reflex, balance, etc., etc., etc. An overall mind-body challenge. If steppin' was a sport, I'd play it! There's variety, Circuit-Kickbox-Hi/Lo-Intervals-Step, abs, & weight training...& an excellent leg workout (so I've been told) it's got it all, if you're short on time, you can do a complete shorter workout...is it versatile.....yeah! That and the sale price did it for me, although after my foray into the presale waters today, I'm pretty much hooked! ( you may want hear from someone who has it does it )My take, Get it, will not disappoint! Linda My first PreSale, Yay! |

If you have and enjoy 4DS, I think you will also enjoy CTX because it's the same idea--a little cardio + a weight segment focusing on a specific region of the body (except for the LL workout, which is just legs and abs--no cardio). CTX's format also allows for a lot of fun mixing & matching of your workouts. And I think LL alone is worth the purchase price!

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I do have 4DS and I use it a lot, for premixes and as it was originally made. I watched the CTX videos, it looks high energy and fun, and it has lots of variety. Some small part of me was hoping that people would say, "You don't need it! Forget about it!" But what was I thinking, haha, of course I got the answer I was hoping to get. Looks like CTX will be my next purchase.

I see you have already been "enabled" but I'll also chime in - I love CTX, have had it for about 4 years and I love it. I most often do the Kickbox cardio, the various abs, and Leaner Legs. Leaner Legs is priceless. CTX does not feel dated at all; it is a lot of fun and there is a lot of variety and intensity in the workouts. The cardio is mainly high impact. Cathe is so high energy in this set that is is simply contagious.

I'm going to buy it, somehow I overlooked this little gem when viewing all the other ones and it looks good to me!

I still use segments from CTX and I've had it for at least 6 years now. I really swear by the Kickbox core / ab segment, the 10-10-10 hi/lo segment, and the Power Circuit step / step-kickbox segment. If you pay attention to music, Power Circuit's music for the step-kickbox segment (which is also used in the Leaner Legs workout) is one of my alltime favorites - kind of a Celtic tribal vibe that'll be in your head for hours afterward.
I think it's a totally worthy purchase. A-Jock
