Default Core Max- is it really difficult?

I was wondering if I could ask for some advice, I have the weakest abs possible- I find most ab exercises really sore to do and I feel the exercises in my lower back rather than my abs. My abs seem to hang when I do a press up, I know you're supposed to hold your abs in but I can't hold them in.

I really need to build up some ab strength before my lower back gives up, I think I'm already slightly walking like a duck. Would Core Max be too tricky or Ab Circuits or should I start in something else?

why not try out either of those w/o and do what you can. maybe try some in morning and later on after your body has rested a bit, or do a few before bed. you're already laying down. everyday just try to do a little better. if you did your best thats enough. dont feel bad if you have to modify. all her w/o have to be mod. for me. i look at that as a good thing. i want to be challenged. when i finally decide which dvd i want i know i won't be bored, or that her w/o are too easy. getting to her level, at least doing the advanced exercises, i'll be proud of that. and be in great shape.

Core Max and STS Ab Circuits contain fairly long (15-20 mins) routines. I have good core strength and I find all 3 of the Core Max segments to be quite challenging. There are 8 or 9 Ab Circuit workouts and some are harder than others, but none are below intermediate level. You could definitely do either of these workouts at your own level with modifications (like using a lighter weight or smaller movements or taking breaks).

Since it sounds like you are just starting out on your journey to stronger abs you might try Cathe's Ab Hits DVD instead. This DVD has 12 (I think) ab segments from Cathe's workouts combined on 1 DVD. These workouts are by no means easy, but they are shorter than the Core Max and Ab Circuits workouts, and generally less intense.

Hi daisymay!

I hurt my lower back last year, I couldn't do Core Max or Ab cicuits at all! I did and still do Cathe's Ab Hits a lot.The workouts are a lot shorter, I feel be burn in my abs not in my lower back. Do you have any other Cathe DVD's with core workout? Once your back is getting stronger than go for Ab Circuits or Core Max! Don't do abs more than twice a week. Check your inbox, I will PM you
