STS - modifications for pushups

Cathlete
Hi Cathe,

I had shoulder replacement surgery in September on my left side and in January on my right. I literally was off for 8 months! (Can you imagine?) I am just now getting to where I can exercise comfortably again. I want to do the STS program to gain back some strength. The only thing is that I can't do all of those pushups that the program starts out with. What should I do instead?

Thanks,
Linda

Not Cathe, obviously, lol. ;) But... Are you able to do modified ( on your knees/tabletop position ?) or does the positioning hurt? Bench presses could work too...

Bumping this because I have a bad shoulder and have only recently been able to do 4 regular pushups. I am also wondering what to sub. Thanks, Melissa

i started with wall pushups. then whent to bent knee. do as many as you can then hit the next button on the remote. or add in some pt in place of pushups.
