Hi Cathe! I am determined to be able to do push ups on my toes and I try, I really do, every time I'm doing a workout with push ups in it. I can do one successfully. Then I can no longer support my own weight and I succomb to my knees.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!

Not Cathe but here is my experience - practice, practice, practice.

I hate pushups but the way I got off my knees was to force myself to always do one more than the last one.

Hi Melissa! This is a fairly common topic around here so I am sure if your run a search you can come up with a bunch of options.

I will give you one that I like. This approach works the negative portion of the movement which will help build strength.

Start a push up on bent knees and push to the top. Once at the top starighten out your legs to a toe push up and lower your body down slowly for 5 to 10 seconds.

Once at bottom, bend your knees and this puts you back to your starting position.

Do 10 reps like this.

Good Luck!

Thanks Cathe!

I remember doing negative push ups in one of your workouts! Totally forgot about doing them that way.

Thanks so much! I'll also run a search.
