How often should I do Abs?

Hello:

I exercise 6 days a week. I do cardio all of those days and alternate days with lower body and upper body. I do most of this at the gym, although three days a week I do a Cathe step aerobics DVD at home. (I'm turning into a Cathe step addict. It is so much fun and Cathe/you is/are so good.) I do a core workout when I do the upper body.

How you felt about doing a core workout more often say 4-5 times a week?

I have had a personal trainer at least once a month since I started doing weights in 1995. I have not had the same one the whole time because we moved, than the one here moved, things like that. When I've asked my trainer that question, I've gotten different answers. one told me Abs were a muscle like any other and I should only work them every other day. Another told me that as long as my abs weren't sore at all, I could work them everyday. Another told me that I could work them every day but I should concentrate on different parts-one day do lower abs and the next upper, etc. It is very confusing to get different info.
