Hip Flexors and Static Lunges

I hope someone can help shed some light on this problem I'm having during static lunges. While both legs are working, the hip flexor of my back leg is the weak link. I feel the burn in the hip flexor more than in the ham or quad of the front leg. Focusing on the front leg to drive up through the heel helps a little but not enough. I don't feel this during regular, step forward and back, lunges. Maybe I need more stretching? Does this happen to anyone else?
Thanks,
Jane

Hi Jane! I agree with Bobbi, try going more shallow in your stance. At the bottom of the lunge, both legs should form 90 degree angles. Therefore, that back leg, while bent, will have the knee directly below the hip flexor at the bottom of the lunge movement. Good Luck!

Hi Jane,

I have the exact same problem. I have never felt such a burn as when doing static lunges in Leaner Legs. Sorry to hear you have this problem, but glad to know I'm not alone.

I really don't think my back leg is back too far, but I'll check it more closely next time.
