High Step modification effective?

HI!

I wanted to know if during the High Step DVDs, or even Muscle Max for that matter, when we are doing Leg Presses, if they are still effective if we use fewer risers? I believe the inch height in the DVDs is about 14 inches and I would like to do them at either 8-10 inches due to my knees.

Would this still be effective for targeting the glutes and hamstrings or have I made it ineffective?
 
Not Cathe here, but you can definitely get a good glute workout with lower risers, especially if you squat down a bit at the bottom of the move, and make sure to press through the heel of the foot that is on the high step on the way up.

Doesn't Cathe do them at 8 or 10 inches with the band in Gym Style Legs? Or Muscle Max? I can't remember which one now.
