Default Cathe I need some advice!!!!

Hi Cathe,

First I would like to say I have been doing your workouts for about 3 months and I just love them and you as an instructor.

I am moving and I will be living in a two family flat. My husband and I have the upper unit. This means I won't be able to do my favorites like Bootcamp or KPC. I would like to know, I am trying to lose 15lbs...I workout anywhere from 4-6days a week. I alternate strength training, cardio and pilates. Because of my new situation cardio is going to be hard. Can I get the same results (losing 15lbs) just alternating between your different strenght training videos (pure strength,MIS,GYM style,Legs & glutes and etc.) AB workouts and pilates? Or will I end up bulky because I can't do the cardio at home?

Hi Ciara! I hope you don't mind me jumping in here. Is it possible for you to start a walk/jog program, rollerblading or biking outside? Or, possibly invest in a spinning bike or eliptical machine that won't make too much noise?? Also, maybe you can talk to your downstairs neighbor and ask them if there is a good time for you to jump around or a bad time. I bet they would be willing to work out a schedule so you both would be happy. Good Luck and let us know how things work out.

This may sound really rude, but I'd go ahead and do the workouts, just at times of day when no one is sleeping. I live in an upstairs apartment and do Cathe's most high impact workouts. I won't do them in the morning anymore, or late at night, but I figure any other time of day is probably ok...

I agree with future fitness dynamo. You live there too. I don't think an hour of exercise is going to upset anyone.

I don't know what you're floors are made of/covered in, but in an attempt to alleviate excess noise on hardwood floors, I purchased gym flooring panels from Modell's. They come in packs of 4 for about $20, and fit together like puzzle pieces. They also help to cushion the floor which is good for your joints. I just lay out the pieces every time I work out, and put them away when I'm done. It's even nice on carpeting, as it prevents you from sticking and keeps your sweat off the carpet. They're really great!! Try them out.

I would like to thank all of you for your advice. I go ahead with my workouts at a decent time. I am also interested in that gym flooring. I live in Michigan and I am not for sure where I can purchase the floor at. Is it available at WalMart, Sams Club, Meijer or Spots Authority?;-)

You can buy the flooring at Home Depots or Lowes, Cosco and I think, at Sams.

You could also take up running and walking, you could buy a bike. Then you can do cardio in your house maybe 3 days a week. You could also ask them if they will be leaving a certain time of the day and then you can workout.
I agree with FutureFitness, I would go ahead and do it anyway. You live there to.
Do you have low max? Great workout and no jumping.
Lori:)
