We used a Troy light Barbell. You can order just the barbell or a complete weight set. Here is a link to one place that sells the complete set (just google to find more places to purchase): Troy Workout Strength Training Set

Troy Lite sets are nice. I have a nice 48" padded Troy bar I got years ago - it is not quite like Cathe's but it is very nice.
Wal-Mart carries a similar set (unpadded) to the Troy brand Cathe is referring to. I believe the brand is US Weights (if I remember correctly). You can pick these up in store or online and the bar is the 48" or 52" instead of the full size olympic bar. Sometimes Golds Gym brand also has a similar set. Keep your eyes peeled. This time of year they will begin stocking them for the "I've gotta lose this holiday weight" resolutions.  PS - Check out other sporting goods stores like MC Sports, Hibbetts, Dick's, Academy, etc. They will often carry these sets.
