Good Morning Ladies!

Busy day today. We have a First Communion party to go to that I totally forgot about until last night ..I had my day all planned out, working out, getting clothes and things ready to pack for my trip tomorrow, then this hits me at around 7 pm..ugh! DH is not happy because he had planned to go fishing this afternoon.. need I say more? Now I have to rush out, by a card etc. Then go to this party at 2:30. I am in a quandry about working out too.. nothing appeals today and I have gained a couple of pounds. ..sorry to be so down today..I need a good kick in the pants to get me moving!

As for the rest of the week, I will be leaving around 6:30 am tomorrow to go to the airport, so I may not be checking it. I hope you keep up with the thread while I am gone.. I will be back Wednesday night.

Have a great week!

Deb

Hi Deb, Linny, Josie--

I did Christi Taylor's Fit to Dance (70 min.).

You sound frazzled, Deb. I know what it feels like to be absent-minded, though. I went grocery shopping this morning and stepped into an aisle for 12 items only with about 60 items. I don't know why the checkout cashier didn't say anything. By the time I noticed, I had already unloaded my cart. I began to cower, waiting for some irate customer to show up behind me and give me the evil eye, but I hurried through and it was okay.

Had sushi appetizer, lobster, and green tea ice cream for dinner last night. Nummmmm! Then we watched American Gangster. A bit too long and too violent for me, but I think Denzel is always brilliant and I was mesmerized as usual by his acting.

Have a safe trip, Deb! (Was that play as funny as it sounded??)

Hi Deb,Garance and Josie:
Busy day yesterday trying to get caught up on all the housework I don't do during the week.I went to the movies with DH and son. Normally DS doesn't go with us,but was very interested in seeing Ironman.I really liked this movie, lots of action and the actors did a great job.Its a definite buy when it comes out on dvd. Then went to Margaritas for some mexican dinner.
Deb:How was the play? Sorry to hear your day was so hurried.Hope you were able to have some fun in all that rushing around. Have a safe trip!
Garance:I went grocery shopping too today.I didn't seem to have even a half full cart and it came to 110 dollars.I had to check my reciept a few times cause I couldn't believe it.Your dinner sounds yummy (except the sushi)I haven't had lobster in awhile.I did have a seafood platter with DH tonite.
I went out and bought myself a coffeemaker today.Got a cute little 4-cup machine.I started drinking coffee with this new job.I'm tired of paying 75cents for a cup of coffee. Most of the time I don't have 3 quarters and they don't have a change machine.
Hope you ladies have a good nite~Linny~

Good Morning!

No workout for me today...I am headed to the airport in a little while. I will miss "chatting" with you guys!

Well I broke my rule ( no more workout DVD's until after STS), and bid on the P90X+ upper body, plus abs DVD that was on Ebay and actually won it! I really didn;t think I would get it. I always liked the upper body work in P90X, and I read that the ab work on this one is really good.

Garance:
Cudos for doing those hour+ workouts! The only one I can do that is over an hour is the 4DS Kickbox/Leg workout. Anything else, and the dread factor creeps in. I hear you on the absent minded things..is it part of the big "M"? Your dinner sounds good, except for the sushi. I never heard of green tea ice cream..is is sweet? Yes the play was pretty funny...it was about a television station in Buffalo, in Feb 2008. There is a blizzard, and only a few are able to get into work, but the show must go on so they do the morning show with janitors, an intern, and 2 Polish ladies that the stage manager picked up at a market on his way to work because they were stranded. These 2 ladies have to do some of the show and it was hilarious! Lots of local humor of course..It was done at a small theater that is in a predominantly Polish area.. the audience was practically rolling on the floor with laughter.

Linny:
Thanks for the review of Ironman...I will put it on our "must rent" list. DH does not like going to an actual show to see a movie. He thinks the prices are out of this world. Are you the only one in your house that drinks coffee? DH and I have a 10 cup pot and sometimes we drink 2 of them before going to work!

I hope everyone has a good week, I will be back Wednesday night.

Deb :)

Hi Deb (if you are there), Linny, and Josie--

This morning I did the Firm's Cardio Dance Fusion (45 min.). Jazz dance warm-up, cha-cha, jive, and modern dance routines. Goes by super fast and I get really sweaty on this one.

Iron Man has really received excellent reviews, Linny. I will have to see it, I hope, soon. Good idea on the coffee. Free coffee for faculty and staff here--from a Keurig machine with individual servings. Not bad, although I like my java STRONG and this is a lighter brew.

That play sounds hilarious, Deb. There was a lot of buzz about P90X over at the Open Forum awhile back. It sounded really too tough for me--but then so does STS. I cringe every time I look at some of those photos over at the blog.

Final week for me--two classes this afternoon and two again on Thursday. Then it's the grading, my least favorite part of teaching.

Have a safe trip, Deb!

Hi Ladies,

I took Friday off and went to San Diego to pick up my GS. We had a great weekend together. I went to the gym and trained with my trainer on Saturday and Sunday I just got up early and made waffles for my GS. He kept aking for waffles even for lunch.

Today I will be going to dinner with a friend to celebrate Cinco De Mayo, so no workout for me.

Deb, Have a great trip!

Linny, I love my coffee, but I only have one 16oz cup in the AM.

Garance, I'm glad that you only have one more week to go.

Josie

Hi Deb,Garance and Josie:
Deb:Have a safe trip! Did you say you and your husband sometimes drink 2 10-cup pots a day? Wow,you two must be zipping.I am the only coffee drinker in house. My DH used to drink it before we met but quit.I never drank it before this new third shift job.But I need something to keep me going.
Garance:Happy last week of school to you. We have a Keurig at work but only have free coffee on wednesdays. So I'll be bringing my own.
My DS and I really enjoyed Ironman,my DH thought the fight scence was too much like Transformers.
Josie: I going to try to keep my coffee drinking as low as possible. My sister was drinking like 6 cups aday and her blood pressure went sky high and had to cut down.Have fun celebrating Cinco De Mayo,I did saturday nite.I'll probably see my DGD's this weekend since its Mothers Day sunday.Sounds like you had fun with yours.~Linny~

Hi Deb, Linny, and Josie--

This morning I did 4ds Bootcamp with bis and tris (62 min.)

Two more classes on Thursday, then finis! A good thing, too, because the weather is making me loll about--warm, sunny, low humidity, gentle breeze. I did the first part of my moussaka recipe this morning and will make the roux and put the layers together this evening to pop in the oven. I would have like to stay home all day--do some sewing or de-cluttering or gardening, but I have to put my final exam together and go to a committee meeting this afternoon.

I have two cups of coffee a day--one really strong one in the morning with breakfast, and then a weak one at work with my lunch. Can't drink coffee or tea after 2 because of sleep issues.

Yep--Mother's Day coming up, so I will see my sons and my prospective DIL. We will go out to dinner. I am so not a brunch person--I feel logy for the rest of the day.

Hi Deb, Garance and Linny,

Today I will be doing 30 minutes on the elliptical and the hard core class at my gym.

My DD already gave me my present for Mother's day, she could not wait. She gave me the new DKNY perfume that comes in a red bottle.
I love it!

I get to celebrat Mother's day twice, since I'm Mexican I get to celebrate on the 10th and the 11th. Also, my DS was born on the 11th.

I probably go out on Friday and celebrate with my DH and DD so that I can avoid the crowds and have Saturday to visit my mom an grandmom.

My GM is 89 years old and still as sharp as ever. I was lucky enough to know my GGM's on both sides of my family.

Have a great day!

Josie

Hi Deb,Garance and Josie:

Garance: Good job in the working out.I still haven't decided if I'll do a Leslie walk today,we'll see how I feel after dinner.Sounds like its a little warmer where you're at.It only reached low 60's today.I hope the rest of your week goes fast and you can get in some "you"time. My sons giving me tips on brewing coffee,I'm new to this.I made one pot last night and it looked pretty light so I had to do some experimenting.Bought some vanilla caramel cream to add, tastes yummy.
Josie: Mexico celebrates 2 Mothers day? You lucky girl.Sounds like you'll have a busy weekend with family.I don't think I've seen the DKNY perfume, what a nice daughter to get it for you.My kids keep asking what I want, but I don't think they'll be able to give what I want.My DD and oldest DS aren't speaking to each other and I so wish they would get along.I think I'll have to split up the day so this one won't be with this one(pain in the butt).
Hoping tonight is a good night at work.As of last night schedule looked like they were short a nurse and a aide.~Linny~

Hi Ladies,

Today I will be spinning. The class last night was a great workout.

Linny, Mother's day in Mexico is always on May 10th. I just meant that I get to celebrate on Saturday and Sunday.

Garance, You are almost done!

Have a great day!

Josie

Hi Deb, Linny, and Josie--

This morning I did 4ds LIS with shoulders, calves, and abs (66 min.).

Linny, the best coffee IMO is made in a presspot. We have a really big one, but you could get a smaller one and make a couple cups at a time. Ouch! That's too bad about your children not getting along--and then there's friction, too, between your husband and son? Must make family gatherings into tense soap operas--if they happen at all. I assume the one thing you want for Mother's Day is for them all to get along.

Beautiful again here today, but a faculty meeting this afternoon with a lot of decisions and the annual executive session on salaries. As you can imagine, this one is always well-attended.

Any reason why Mother's Day always falls on May 10, Josie?

Have a great day!

Hi Deb,Garance and Josie:
Deb:I think you said you'd be home today.Hope all went well.Did you get in any workouts?
Garance:I've bought a little cheapy Mr.Coffee and since I am the only coffeedrinker here it works out fine. But I would like to try a presspot coffee sometime.Might tempt me into buying one though;) My DH is complaining about the smell of coffee in the house. He has a very sensitive sense of smell and it keeps him awake.I have been running oven fan to help with smell and making coffee at dinnertime so the smell will be gone at bedtime. Just got through brewing and he says"It stinks up the whole house".Maybe he'll like to pay for my coffee at work}( .Yep,the tension can be pretty high around holiday times with kids or DH not getting along. At least DH and DS are actually speaking now.Treading very carefully. Now to just fix the mess between DS and DD.
Is tomorrow your last official school day?
Josie:Good for you with the working out.I have a spinner in spare bedroom but its collecting dust right now. Thanks for setting me straight on the Mothers Day thing,I was getting jealous thinking you had 2.
DH brought home the RV this week,so we are getting it all cleaned and packed to bring to lake this weekend. He is bringing it to lake on sunday so I quess I won't be going since family will probably be around.
Well I'm going in for my second round of sleep before work.Have a good night~Linny~

Good Morning!

No workout for me today, ( none yesterday either!). I got back last night. I was pretty tired so I didn;t post, but I did go back and read the posts from the last few days, so I could catch up with what has been going on around here. The trip was good.. our organization actually went to the hill and met with 3 staffers from the Senate Finance Committee. It was pretty interesting to see how these things get done in government. It's not as formal or intimidating as you would think.. very informal and friendly. They actually seem to like to see their constituents.

Garance:
I bet you are counting down the hours until classes and everything else is over. I know I would be!

Linny:
Yes, I am a big coffee drinker! The ones we make in the morning are 50/50 decaf/cafe. Then I drink decafe for the rest of the day.

Josie:
It sounds like you are back to your normal workouts. Are you completely healed? Twice the fun for Mother's day!

Thanks for keeping things going around here! It sounds like everyone has been really busy this week. I am looking foward to the weekend!

Have a great day...

Deb:)

Welcome back, Deb! Hi to Linny and Josie--

This morning I did 4ds HIS with Chest and Back (58 min.).

Wow Linny--I love the smell of coffee. I wonder, though, if it would wake me up, since I do associate it with morning.

Your trip to Washington sounds really interesting Deb. What famous Senators did you see/meet with? I'm a real political junkie and love Sunday morning with the pundits and post-primary news.

Two more classes this afternoon and then it's over for another year. I tried to stay for the whole faculty meeting yesterday, but finally left at 6 because it looked like it was going to extend for at least another 30 min. I'll have to find out from someone what our raises look like for next year.

Are you fully recovered now, Josie?

ttfn

Hi Ladies,

Welcome back Deb! I'm still healing, but I can do most of the work out except for push ups. I can feel the preasure on the wound.

I met with my Dermatologist and have an appointment in 6 weeks.
She specialises in laser & surgical dermatology. She said that it will heal well once I start with the laser treatments.

Garance, I don't know why mother's day is alwasy on May 10th. I tried to research it, but could not find anything, other than it is a day when women issues are discussed in congress.

Linny, Give your husband a clothes pin for his nose. I love my coffee and I don't care if it bother anyone. Hope things get better between your kids.

Today I will be taking the core class and doing 30 minutes on the elliptical.

Have a great day!

Josie

Hi Deb,Garance and Josie:
Deb:Glad you had a safe trip and that things went well with Senate. You'll have to get caught up on those missed workouts.:)
Last night I had way too many coffees(was free coffee night). So it was a rough sleep today.Sounds like you and DH really love your coffee.Good that you at least drink half decaf.
Garance:I love the smell of the flavored coffees, especially vanilla and caramel.Bet you were kicking up your heels today as you walk out of school. Are you going to have "you" day tomorrow?Hope you're happy with raises next year.
Josie:I like your clothes pin idea. Did your fall leave that big a scar? Laser does work wonder,I had some done on veins around my nose and looked great once it healed.Sounds like your still our little energizer bunny.
Going to see GYN/OB tomorrow,hopefully it doesn't cancel again.Have a great night~Linny~

Good Morning!

Well Friday finally came! I am so looking forward to being off for a couple of day, although I have to go to a work meeting from 8-12 tomorrow morning.x(

Garance:
I bet you are really smiling in anticipation of the time off ahead! As for the visit to the Senate, we did not meet with an actual Senator ( heavens no!), but with 3 of the staffers from Senator Baucus' ( Montana) office. We did see and say hello to the NY Senator ( Chuck Schumer) as he was walking down the hall.

Josie:
Sorry to hear you have to have further treatments from your injuries:-( . I too love the smell of fresh coffee brewing! I can smell it from my office at work and it leads me right out to the pot for a refill!

Linny:
Good luck with the ob/gyn apt. Let us know how that turns out.

Have a great day ladies!

Deb;-)

Happy Friday, Deb, Linny, and Josie--

I did the 60 min. Leslie this morning--4 miles Fast and Firm, and full of cackles and shrieks and what she calls "agitator" stuff. Is this some New Jersey term? She uses it all the time. Basically, she needles or joshes her walking companions in some idiotic way. I really try to ignore her because I rather like this workout.

I have definitely seen Chuck Schumer on the news, but I don't know anything about Baucus, Deb. Is he the ranking Senator on the Finance Committee? Sorry you have to work tomorrow morning. Saturday is my sleep-in morning and very precious to me.

Josie, I always thought Mother's Day here in the USA was created by Hallmark Cards in cahoots with Godiva chocolates, Zales jewelry, and FTD florists--just another way to spend in this consumer society. (But I also like the appreciation and attention!!)

Linny, you will have to give us a report on your OB/GYN appt.

I'm going to read for pleasure most of this afternoon and maybe do a bit of de-cluttering of my office. CLASSES OVER!!!

Hi Deb,Garance and Josie:

I got to see MD today, finally. She has never heard of menopausal hives, but isn't ruling it out.I haven't had a period since March 3rd,so I have to take 10 days of progesterone to get things going.I probably won't start it till next friday morning because I know I'll be laid up with cramps and profuse bleeding(oh joy). Then I start on Loestrin for a few months and hopefully this will take care of hives. If not, she said I'll have to go back to allergist again.x( I so hope it works,I want to go into water and not worry about having a reaction this summer.
Deb:That stinks that you have to go into work for meeting tomorrow.I hope it goes by fast so you can have the rest of weekend to relax.

Garance:I got to workout today too!Yah!Did Cathe's Bodymax 2 and back. It's tough to get going after 3 hours of sleep though.Glad to hear you got to spend some time for you today.Congrats on no more school.
Josi:I know you have busy weendend ahead.Have fun.My daughter wants to take me out for dinner tomorrow. A Napleanse restaraunt, she said the food is preservative free and natural.I'm willing to try it.
Hope you ladies have good night~Linny~
