Good morning gang! I'm going to try to warm myself up my doing RS this AM.

Becky, I hope the hope is better. Dr today?

Wendy, I plan to go to the shelter every Sun morning. My 2 DDs will be joining me next time. I too would love to adopt a ton of animals, but my DH would have a fit if I brought any more animals home. We have 2 cats and a dog. I just had to put one of my cats down in Oct.:( You know what they say about cats, though - the more the merrier!:)

How is everyone? I may be offline today for awhile. My computer guy is coming to clean up my computer. It sometimes takes hours!!!!

Running late this morning, I kept hitting snooze!:p Anyway, I am off to do HIIT on my treadmill and a short tabata with the ropes!

Good Morning Phyllis, Ellie , Deanie, and everyone still making their way in......

I rested yesterday and all day my back felt better. Then last night I sat in the recliner, watching 24 with my DH and when it was over I got up and could barely walk !!!!!!
I have NO IDEA what I did, I was just sitting !!!!

I took 1/2 muscle relaxer last night (the whole one the night before really knocked me out, I slept half of yesterday afternoon !!) and it feels better this morning, so I'll just be careful today and see how it goes.

It figures but the dr. I went to see about this last time, JUST sent a letter Sat. saying he's leaving the practice !:( So I'd be starting all over again !!:mad: I'll go if I have to , but will give it another day or two first.

Good Morning Hellos to Phyllis, Ellie , Deanie & All The Peeps that follow.


Today is kettlebell day here & I plan on doing Empire State along w/ my 200 swings and possibly a short 20 -30 m. cardio ..... if I have time and depending on how I feel - I usually like to do my cardio before kettlebells. We'll see how it goes.

My migraine is very faint this morning I can feel just a slight pressure so I'm doing much better since the last couple of days.

Phyllis Stay warm up there are you guys in the way of that blizzard I heard about last night - I know Chicago will get slammed for sure :(

Becky & JJ I hope you both feel better with the hip/back pain.

Ellie Phyllis has always been our daily check in starter she is just an early bird :)

Deanie I'm sure you'll have a great HITT are you using a program on your TM?

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR........I'm saying that in prep for the temps we'll be getting tomorrow. Today we're actually supposed to hit 40, but starting tonight we'll be in the single digits for a few days! YIKES! I already wear 3 layers of shirts plus 2 pairs of socks......I might as well just get out the parka!

OK.......I hit the COLD basement this morning to workout (my basement is unfinished, and the thermometer down there read 55 this AM!)! LOL
PUB....DONE!!!!!

Today's a quiet day. School/work, then kids have their Religion classes and then a 7:30pm basketball practice. I should probably clean my house......NAH! It can wait, right?

Vilma- you still have your headache??? I would have gone crazy by now. Your workout sounds intense this morning. Enjoy!!!

Sometimes sitting can make it feel worse. I hope you rest today. I am VERY jealous about the snow. We haven't even had a flurry yet this winter!!

Deanie- what's tabata with ropes??? I am doing Step Blast in prep for Cathe's class on Friday. It gets me in the mood and makes me feel like I can do anything!!!! Until I actually get to Cathe's class!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gayle- we too are prepping for the cold!!! I happen to love it but I don't like not having the kids play outside. I could soooooo w/o in your basement. I sweat so much and get overheated I love it when it's cold to start. You look great in pics from our last get together. Just crop us out. Can't wait to see you.

First of all, welcome to kariev! It's a great group here :)

This morning I have LIS on my plate, followed by a little abs work (either Crunch: Pick Your Spot Pilates Abs or Sara Ivanhoe's 20 minute yoga makeover Flat Abs) if I have enough time.

Vilma, I can't imagine having a headache that long! I would be a mess if I suffered from migraines.

I'll be back this evening to say hi to everyone else.

Good morning Peeps. Today is my and DH's 13 year anniversary, don't even know what we are going to do to celebrate, we are bracing for some lousy weather. Snow, cold, you name it, it is coming our way, yuck. Oh well, we will figure something out..

Today was 4DS KB. Not a favorite, I swear Cathe is making this one up as she goes, at least that is the expression on Jai's face throughout the KB segment.

So who is all going to the Tri state class on Friday. I just want to know so I have names to attach to my jealousy!!

Happy Anniversary, Conni!

I just finished LIS and totally hit a wall at the end of the last step combo...couldn't do the last intensity blast. I have got to have something more than half a banana before I work out! But I've got about half an hour between the time I eat and the time I work out. Any suggestions?
 
Conni- I admit, I am going on Friday. Feel free to be jealous. Until you read my post- workout post!!!! 60 minutes non stop with Cathe, no Pause button and nowhere to hide.... Need I say more!!!
Happy Anniversary. I would stay in with a nice romantic movie, warm blankets for cuddling under and watch the snow fall!!! You can go out another night when the weather is better!!!

Jill- I had a hard time learning LIS, but i do love it. Do you have snow too? Am I the only person in the US who has had NO snow this winter??? I would be happy for an inch or two for the boys (and me) to play in.

Am I the only one with a preschooler who wants to HELP me exercise???? He is only part time preschool, so Tuesdays and Thursdays my workouts are a little broken up

Becky~ sorry about your back. Hopefully resting today will help. Sorry about your doctor. I had that happen with my first pregnancy- in the middle of my preg. my ob left the practice and I was stuck there!!:mad: I didn't like the other 2 drs.Feel better!!

Ellie~ Tabata is a system(?) where you work out for 20 seconds intensely, and take a 10 second rest. This morning I did a 4 minute tabata using ropes. My rope is a 1.5" manilla rope that is 40ft long (20feet when its wrapped around a pole in my basement) They really get my heart rate up- more than any other step or kickbox or even boot camp workout (but I love kickbox and still do it!) They are cardio and work your whole body- my biceps really feel it! also, we've had no snow either here in Maryland, and I for one would love a snow day (I teach nursery school and would love a paid day off!)

Jill~ love the LIS warmup! How about a glass of water with a scoop of whey in it pre workouts? I have that or half a banana myself in the mornings. (sometimes I have some chopped dates)

Gayle~ I workout in my basement too and yes it was cold!!

Good morning all. Last night DH and I did not end up going to the gym so I was able to get my Cathe fix :D. I did PP with heavy weights and I am feeling it today. I love short, effective workouts! Tonight will be a long hill climb on the TM at the gym.

I love the movie idea Ellie, but our 11 year old son, our 6 month old puppy and the powers that be have yet to lend itself to that concept. I haven't been able to watch a good romance flick for a long time...does the Star Wars series count??lol...

Okay Gayle, thanks for the info, I now have a mental dartboard. I am just terrible today!

Oh, did I mention our annual audit starts today? I am an accounting mgr, of course....( groan)..
 
Guten Morgen, Peeps!

I did HSC this morning--the whole thing except for calf raises and the push-ups that follow. LOVE THIS WORKOUT!!

Houdini stayed in her room last night, hurrah! It only took one hour and six escape attempts to get her to stay...Ha!

Becky--I'd go ahead and make the appointment. You can always cancel it later, but sometimes it takes time to get in!

Jill--I recommend a Kashi pumpkin pie bar for your pre-workout snack. They have some sugar, some grains, and I think that might do the trick. I also like a handful of shredded wheat cereal as a pre-workout snack, too...

Vilma--UGH! I hope your miagraine (Sp?) goes away soon. I'm so sorry you've had to suffer with that!!

Phyllis--We stared with one cat, four years later added another one. I wish I would have done it way sooner! Two is so much fun. :)

Good Morning!!

Just finished cleaning the kitchen and now doing laundry...just call me Mr. Mom, especially in the winter, when I'm laid off from work.

I'm heading to the gym later this afternoon to hit the eliptical machine, hopefully for an hour, but if I have to settle for a half hour, I'll take it!

You can add me to your dartbaord, Conni...I'm going to Cathe's Friday as well.

and the homework and play Don't break the Ice until you want to hit yourself with the hammer(an ice pick will do),and pee while 3 people are watching you and asking you questions and the list goes on!!!!

But any man who does housework is a REAL man in my book. Any man who thinks of his wife and helps around the house is fine in my book!!!

Deanie, I'm guessing that tabata is some kind of interval workout and you do it by jumping rope? Yes?

Becky, that's frustrating with the dr. Was he a specialist or was it your family doc?

Vilma, glad to hear that your head has stopped pounding.:)

Ellie, I get up at 4:30, get my java, do my 'puter stuff and start exercising by 5:30. The down side is that my schedule is SOOO different from DH. He likes to stay up late and sleep late.

Gayle isn't it hard to get started on your wo when it's so cold? It takes me awhile to warm up and then when i'm done, I get chilled.

Jill, I don't eat anything before cardio. But before a weight workout, I might have some almonds or a couple bites of leftover chicken. I just figure a little protein is a good idea. I have coffee too, but htat isn't necessarily a good thing.

Happy Anniversary Conni! Was it this cold on your wedding day? I hope you honeymooned somewhere warm. Yea, I'm part of the crowd going on Friday too.

Karin, did you do a PP premix? I find that they are tough!

Wendy, we had a definite pecking order with our felines. Now that the alpha cat is gone, things have changed up a bit.

Jerry, nice job with the cleaning. Anytime you are bored, just come on over!:)
