No sweets Week of Sept. 16

Oh my Ladies. I hope you are doing well. I have to come to you ladies and admit that I didn't wash any cars yesterday. I only held the signs at the traffic light with the kids. I also had a late dinner last night.

So, while lying in bed, I could hear fitfairy say "get up and do those drop sets". I just finished finished the entire GS C&T and my arms are aching so much until I can barely type this message. Those drops sets are a killer and I don't even do them like the crew. I use a 10 inch step to do the push ups and I do sets of 12, 10, 8, 6 and that is it instead of starting at 16 like the crew. My bore triceps could barely get worked out because my arms are so exhausted from the chest work. Actually, I could feel my triceps working during some of the chest work, so maybe that is why.

Rose, I hope the situation that you were going through is settled and your mind is at ease now. Glad to know you are eating well and keeping up with your routine too.

At least I started out the week right.
 
Affirm I'm so glad you exercised today! :) I didn't exercise yesterday or today because TTOM is near and I always get insomnia which makes me tired the next day. I am very fatigued right now and I decided to skip my workout today, but I rescheduled it for tomorrow and I'm doing Muscle Max. I cheated a little bit last night with my diet, but it wasn't drastic, just 80 calories over my allowed intake, so it wasn't *that* bad, but I didn't exercise so I can't be too happy about that though. I stopped my job search for a couple of weeks, it is just too stressful and depressing for me right now, but I will be on the hunt again starting in October. I started searching in July and I'll be doing it again soon. Meanwhile, I'll keep my current job until I'm 100% sure that I will be working in a better place. I've sent my resume to a couple of places already so maybe something will come up, but the economy is pretty bad and it's getting harder and harder to find jobs in my area so I can't depend on those, I have to be very involved and it takes a lot out of me. I'm hitting the pause button for awhile and I will start the process again very soon. I'm definitely not losing hope.

Catherine - Hey! I hope you're MIA because you got upper body DOMS from all the pull-ups. :p
 
Affirm, I am ROTFLMAO at me telling you to do those drop sets!! Way to start your week!! Chest work does work the triceps alot and that is why by the time you get to the tricep work in this one it is soooooooo hard.

Rose, it was good to hear you were able to do step on your normal 8"

I woke up in the middle of the night extremely nauseated. Didn't get much sleep. Was still nauseous this morning and so I didn't spend the day with DHs family as planned. I spent it on the couch. I feel ok right now. I am glad I did my leg w/o yesterday!!

Ohh Catherine that's awful. I'm glad you feel better now. Don't worry we'll get back on track soon. That's why I like you both. We fall off the wagon and then we get back on it. We never give it up completely just because we cheated on our diets or skipped workouts.
 
Fitfairy, I hope you are over your sickness. Take it easy for a couple of days.

Rose, it seems like just yesterday I was suffering from TTOM. It comes around just too quickly and zaps all the energy from you. At least you know it will past.

I just finished the step portion of BM2 for a 35 minute workout. I have planned my lunch to be grilled chicken and mixed veggies. I need to make a run to the store to get some fruit this afternoon. I can't believe I am out.
 
Hey gang!! I felt better this morning till after breakfast and then I got this pain in my stomach x( I went to work with this gnawing pain. Took 2 tums and was better after a while. Immediately after lunch same thing except worse. I had oatmeal for breakfast and tuna on ww and apple sauce for lunch. Anyway, so far this evening I'm ok. Weird! I did upper body this evening and Imax 2 intervals 1-5.

Affirm, I love the step in BM2!! It's one of my favorites!!

Hey ladies. Today I did Muscle Max, but I skipped the ab section and did traditional abs from CTX: All Step instead. My diet has been good so far. I still felt tired today, but it wasn't that bad so I decided to workout anyway.

Affirm - I really miss BM2! I wonder when or if I'm going to be able to do it again.

Catherine - Take care of that stomach. Hopefully there's nothing serious.
 
Just thinking about that cross country move hurts my lower back lol! I guess I'll have to watch it again and see what can I do in terms of modifications. I modified CTX's All Step a couple of weeks ago and I've done the modified version about 3 times already. I'd say is 98% low impact and I have to do it on an 8 inch because my heart rate doesn't go high enough on a 6 inch. It is definitely a great low impact alternative for me. I was surprised I could modify that one because All Step is very bouncy and high impact. Knowing all the moves from Low Max and LIC helped me with the modifications and Cathe suggests some low impact modifications during the workout too. I'd be thrilled if Cathe does a low impact/high intensity series in the future. I already suggested CTX: Low Impact awhile ago and many people wanted something similar. We're getting older and our joints are not what they're used to be. When I was a teenager and in my early 20's I ran on the pavement like it was on water, but now I have to protect my joints. My back and disk injuries were my wake-up call. Hopefully I'll have more low impact choices in the future, but in the meantime I'll keep on watching the classics and designing my own low impact/high intensity versions.
 
Hello ladies!! Well, my stomach is still acting up and I am not sleeping x( I was real tempted to not workout this evening, but I did anyway. I did Kenpo X which isn't terribly hard followed by KPC abs. I am glad I w/o. I just hope I sleep tonight **yawn**
Tomorrow I plan P90X legs and back-we'll see.

Eating is still good :D New Orleans will undo that this weekend though }( That's ok by me!!

Fitfairy, Oh my....still not feeling well. Take it easy on the heavy weights...go light and give your body a little rest during this time. Hopefully, you will feel better and have all your energy back soon.
 
Hey there. Today I did some yoga, but according to my calendar ttom is pretty near so I don't know what I'll do tomorrow. Last night I cheated on my diet and I was pretty bad!!! Today I did much better. Catherine I hope you feel better. I think you should see a doctor if your symptoms continue. Three days with those symptoms does not seem normal. Take care ladies.
 
Fitfairy, I realize you have the storm blues, but I hope your stomach is feeling better. I am surprised you have even had the energy to workout with a bad stomach and not sleeping well.

Rose, I think we all can relate to a moment of cheating. Last night, I wanted some ice cream so bad. Luckily, there was none in the house. I had one graham cracker and called it a night.

I did the cardio portion of Drill Max this morning. Those fast foot repeaters are a good workout.
 
Hello ladies. Yesterday I couldn't exercise, but today I did a short cardio + GS: BSB + abs. Diet has been good, but yesterday I had some cake and ice cream because it was the birthday of a family friend and I had to go (it was his 80th birthday).

Catherine - I hope you feel better soon.

Affirm - That DM cardio premix is another one of my favorites. It's another one of those workouts that I miss doing because of the impact.
 
Hey gang!!! I am feeling better. I think the lack of good sleep caught up with me. I did get in my workout today. P90X legs and back. Did chinups 7,6,5,4,4,& 4- not too bad considering the shape I've been in this week!!

Rose, that's the best kind of cake isn't it ;) Is your back still doing ok?

Affirm, I have to ask. How do you feel about the first drill in DM? I absolutely hate it x( I don't know why, but I always think about skipping it, but do it anyway LOL!!

I will be leaving in the morning-early and will be back Tues evening. You girls keep up the good work!!!

Today is *the* day for me so I didn't exercise. I will resume my workouts tomorrow. My back is achy, but it's the lower back tightness I get from TTOM, it's not from my disks. Fortunately, I haven't had any lower back discomfort for a couple of weeks. I hope you have fun with your hubby, Catherine. Affirm, I know you've been busy, but hopefully you have a little bit of time for yourself this weekend.
