HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JEN!!!!
http://bestsmileys.com/birthday1/10.gif
Yay and happy birthday to you, Jen!
And morning to the rest of yous!
This morning I was looking around the various homepages I always check in my morning routine, and I came across news about a 3 yr-old boy who has a very rare disease that doesn't allow him to...SLEEP. Or rather, he can sleep, but for only a couple hours, and then he's up and off. And cranky as all, obviously. Can you imagine 3 years of only having had a couple hours of sleep a night? The poor kid! Not to mention his parents. He had an operation (the problem has to do with pressure at the base of his brain) and the doctors hope that he'll be better in oh, a year or so. Maybe. Yike.
Anyway.
So last night I ordered a bunch of new whey protein http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/party/party0024.gif yay!
I'll have nowhere to store them http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/party/party0024.gif yay!
I got a huge tub of Vanilla, and a huge tub of Chocolate Peanut Caramel, and a huge tub of Cinnamon Roll http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/party/party0024.gif woo hoo!
I was on such a roll, in fact, that I came across some protein bars I'd never seen before and after reading some good reviews on the internet about them, I was clicking away http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/party/party0024.gif ! Muwahahahaa!
(Remember, I could barely find a spot to fit my crock pot. Yeah, okay, so this morning I'm kind of starting to worry about the space issue for three tubs of whey LOL.)
I'm sure the space problem won't be a concern once I start making my new flavored smoothies!
All right, I've just finished Basic Step, yes, you heard right, Basic Step, and I'm off to do some work.
There's construction next door this morning. http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/sign/sign0001.gif
JENNIFER - I gave Mooch, Chami, Yoyo and Lulu the love that Seville and Madrid's sent and they all said to say thank you very much! http://bestsmileys.com/love1/5.gif
How is your foot doing? You mention it's still sore, ick. Are you able to walk around all right?
MICHELE -
>I feel toxic and fat.
Oh, I hear ya. Recently I've been feeling like I don't want to wear anything form-fitting LOL. And I find myself reaching around my torso to do a blub check a few times a day.
I highly recommend the 10-minute Solutions. There are 5 10-min cardio sections, so you can do just one (like for when you're in a REAL RUSH http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/ashamed/ashamed0004.gif LOL), or you can do all of them for a 50-min workout, except that there are warm ups and cool downs on all the sections, so it's more like 40 minutes. And it's not high intensity. It's just enough cardio to kind of get you warmed up and going (a.k.a. Enough cardio for when you don't want to do cardio http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/happy/happy0011.gif ).
When I first got the DVD, I thought, well, I guess I'll never use this. But actually, I always go back to it because it's a good one to get my juices flowing and back to doing cardio. Same with Tamilee's IWTB. There's something psychologically good about doing two 15-min workouts and one 10-min workout that feels better than doing a 40-min one.
>ever since I posted about my mom's dessert waffle I've been hankering for one.
I know we were just talking about the flab-factor, but that might be a nice walk down memory lane!
>Seriously, you don't have an oven?
Seriously, I don't have an oven. I do have a toaster/microwave/oven, but I never use it as an oven because I wouldn't know how to. I'd have to be checking on whatever I'm cooking every five seconds!
I remember I did bake some cookies in my old one once eons ago, and I thought the thing would catch fire, it got so hot.
>I forgot to tell you that I got a Mother's Day card from Johnny . I think DH helped him with it.
Oh, Michele, that...that is soooo sweet. I'm in love with your DH! http://bestsmileys.com/love1/20.gif
>I forgot to tell you that Johny was licking my eyelid the other night.
ROTFLMAO!!
>DH got me TWO dozen roses for my birthday?
Where did you find this man again? Might there be another one somewhere?
>DH wants to go to the musty...mildewy...godforsaken...hell...hole
LMAO!

>Tristan called me yesterday to say Happy Mother's Day. I chatted with him, then mentioned he couldn't speak to his father, since he was out mowing the lawn. Tristan said, "That's OK, he called me an hour ago to tell me to call you."
LMAOLMAO!!
I think I might be in love with your DH, too. http://bestsmileys.com/love1/20.gif
That's nice that you were able to escape cooking all weekend. I'm so sorry it didn't extend into cardio, too.

>I made a homemade chocolate cake with peanut butter icing on Saturday.
OMG. http://bestsmileys.com/drooling/4.gif
>Then when your mom is with them, it is Party Time!!!!
LOL, no kidding. Since my trip out of town and Mooch got all the dry his little mouth could handle, he's been eating less and less wet, like he knows something is up. I ended up having to order some more dry, urgh. But I got a grain-free one, so I'm hoping to wean to that, and then try again to go all wet.
>Gabe made me some coupons at school that are good for cleaning the house and helping with dinner.
Oh, how totally cute! And so cute about the "My mom weighs 80lbs and is a little tall." And how he gave you his money. CUTE!

>I am sooooo cold. My hands are like ice, I have on long sleeves & a sweater. It is MAY!!!!!
It's totally back to winter weather here, too. It's so strange. I'm currently wearing down slippers that go up to my knees right now!
SHANNON -
>a mere 10 minutes of cardio???? *Gasp!* I'd just be devastated if it was over that soon.
Don't worry, I wasn't devastated LOL. http://bestsmileys.com/lol/10.gif
>Has the crow come back?
Not yet, but Cham's there at the window for when he does!
I'm sorry to hear about Mr. Lawnmower. Does that mean a trip to the store is in the future for you?
Have a great bday, Jen, and have a fantastic day everybody! :* :*
ETA - Hey, I don't believe I have bday dates for Jennifer or for Shannon....does ANYBODY? (hint hint)
