Damage Control Tuesday

Well, I got my days confused a bit when I posted my work outs for the upcoming days. TODAY is the day I am working out with BF at the gym so I'll be doing 4DS bi/tri. Bootcamp will be tmrw.

My step count was just over 10k when I went to bed last night. Had to force it though which seems to be normal for me unless I do lots of cardio.

Oh my gosh girls! I just checked....I haven't done personals since SUNDAY morning!!! Oh the horror! :eek: I'm sorry! I'll catch up as best as I can....

Jen:: I hear ya on being too impatient to wait for the Fit Bit trust me. I am the queen of being impatient about certain things! :p I didn't realize that there were so many hotels on the casino grounds. How does that work? There are TWO casinos, correct? Then how many hotels??? Comfy beds you say? The place we frequent in AC has comfy beds too but I still can't stay in them for too long. LOL I am up by 8am no matter what.

Diana:: Sounds like a cool wedding that you went to. Can't wait to see the pics. I like the sounds of the Fit Bit more then the GWF for a couple of reasons: no monthly svc fee for the program, the fact that you clip the Fit Bit to your clothes (like a pedometer) instead of wearing the arm band. I think the arm bad would annoy me or be impossible to utilize depending on what I was wearing.

Laura:: Sending hugs your way and healing vibes to your mom!!!!

Jacque:: PF Chang's is a chain chinese restaraunt like Applebees and the like. It's different from the privately owned Chinese establishments we are all used to. It's super yummy and probably no worse for you then anything else you'd eat out. I too am hoping that this 10k steps a day thing will help. I really hope it will help me as it's apparent I don't reach it on a regular basis with out lots of extra effort! If it's something you do w/o thinking about it then you may need to raise your goal to make a difference. :)

Good Morning, girls!

No workout for me to report today, at least not yet, as I seemed to have overslept this morning :( And by "overslept" I mean I snoozed the alarm at least 10 times!! I just could not get out of bed. So I'm hopeful that I'll be able to get a Jari in after work tonight.

Wendy: Were you up extra early today? Foxwoods is HUGE, let me just start with that. It's got four or five different casinos and three hotes under one roof. It's pretty amazing. There's the MGM Grand Hotel, The Grand Pequot Tower, and one other that I cannot remember the name of right now. Each one has a bit of a different theme. The third (currently unnamed) one has kind of a rustic feel to it, the Grand Pequot is a bit nicer, more classic with nice tiled bathrooms and stuff, and the MGM is modern, nice clean lines to the decor and modern fixtures in the bathrooms. The MGM is new, too. It has only been open about a year. There are tons of shops, at least 10 restaurants, a couple spas, gorgeous indoor and outdoor pools...it's quite the playground :)

Jacque: Great job on B & G! My kids are still young-ish, 11 and 14 (almost), but the years are going by fast and I'm already starting to worry about college, especially when I see how well my son (who is the oldest) is doing in school. He's quite the driven kid. And yes, if I remarry, colleges will include both household incomes when evaluating for aid, even if one is not a parent. Go figure. Doesn't make sense to me, but it is what it is. However, if I'm unmarried, many colleges won't even consider the non-custodial parent's income (dad's), only mine. In that case, it works out for us.

I forgot to tell y'all (small enable here so stop reading NOW if you don't want to hear it! :p)....I downloaded and printed out a work out online that I am going to try one of these days. It's called the Fat-X program and you can find it here: http://www.fatx101.com/
It cost me $3.99. It's a circuit work out program that is 12 days long in total and can be repeated as many times as you want. I don't think it'll work any miracles. Just looked like something fun and different. Yes, it's on paper but it's not some big long drawn out in depth program so I shouldn't have any trouble following it. Any takers to do it with me? ;)

ETA: Oh and I also got another vid in the mail y'day! LOL I got BL's yoga vid. Not cuz they claim it helps with weight loss (I don't believe that for a second!) but because I need to do more yoga and since I'm liking everything else I have by BL I will probably like this one too! I love it as well because, as with the other vids, I can do 1, 2 or 3 segments so I can get some yoga/stretching in w/o having to commit a ton of time to it if I don't want to.

Good Morning!

No checkin for me yesterday....had DS all tol myself;) He is eating his breakfast right now so I may have a few mins of quiet:D

Yesterday was another run with the intentions of starting the 2nd set of STS but that never got done. I was thinking it was better to do it today b/c the next 2 days I will be running without a stroller. I would have been sore today...I just know it and I have to push the stroller so theres my excuse:rolleyes: I also have a game of softball tonight at 5:45...should be interesting!

Wendy** Enjoy your workout with BF. Sometimes its nice to have someone to workout with. I , personally, get into a fit of laughter at the person next to me so I never get a good weight workout in when working out with someone else.!

Jen** Ive been there! Can you get your workout in tonight??

Lori:: I'm not really concerned with how good my work out is tonight. I'm doing this to get her going on the gym thing, not to get a good work out. If it happens, great. If not, no big deal, which is precisely why I am working out on my own first. ;)
 
Happy Tuesday Ladies !

Since I walked last night I decided to do 4DS Hi Intensity Step. It was fun and short - am up to 3,333 steps so far before heading off to work. Tonight is supposed to be CC - hope I'm in the mood cuz I'd like a nice hard run.

Wendy - hear you on the 10K steps. I can't make it without at least an hour of cardio either (other than shopping four times like the other day ! :eek:). We'll see if the additional cardio is what I need. I believe I am mesoendo and the extra cardio used to help? :confused: Don't have time b4 work to check out your circuit workout but will later - reminds me I need to see when my BL vid's are to be delivered. Should be any day now . . .

Jen - crossing fingers you get your workout in tonight. It does sound like you need some extra sleep though - as hard as it is, when that happens to me I have just been giving in to sleep and then after a few days I can hit the workouts again gung ho ! Your guys talk about Foxwoods is making me want to skip town and go play ! :p Well though 11 & 14 sounds young, like you said it will be 18 & 21 in no time ! Sounds like a great plan you have going, especially if DS is very scholastic. Our univ & colleges just had tuition raised nearly 10% this year after having been raised 2 years ago.

Lori - glad you and DS had a day together again yesterday ! Can't wait for your review on Meso 2. You may want to plan on posting a few hours after the workout since, if I remember correctly, I could hardly get my arms up to type ! :eek: ;)

Hello ladies ..

Well Mama's upper GI .. says that stomach has stopped bleeding .. NOW she has an infected arm ..says where IV was :confused: they are starting her on antibiotic drip .. GOD I pray she does not get a blood infection at all of this .. :( .. and talked to her BFF and she just found out she has colon cancer :( she is going to see a surgeon today and stop by and see mama . gosh when it rains it pours!!

Class was packed last night .. did circuits and I did better than expected .. I NEEDED it and suprised I am not sore today!! :eek: Tonight is 4 step plank/plyo/pushup torture!

Wendy .. you are the QUEEEN of enablers ;) but we LOVE it!!!

Jacque . I too need a CC .. have not ran in FOREVER .. wouldnt take much for me to reach puke factor :confused: .. work did cooperate and let me take 2 hours family leave yesterday .. thank goodness ... my DB is going today .. so I dont have to ...

Jen .. I had the sleepies too this morning .. if I knew how to hit snooze I would .. I have never set it so I wont use it .. LOL .. trick myself into MAKING myself get up .. LOL

Well, I at least got a walk in at lunch today, in the sun, no less!! :cool: Good thing, too, because I had a measly 1600 steps when I left. I'm up to 7725 now. I just might make the 10k goal after all. I had to throw in a few extra blocks today to get the extra step though.

Jacque: Nice job with 4DS step. I love those workouts, though I can't say I've got them down pat just yet. Hope to get back to them soon.

Laura: Glad to hear you got your workout in! It does wonders for the mood during times of high stress, as I'm sure you know! Still sending <<<healing vibes>>> for your mom.

Back to report a good heavy legs session at lunch (was a goodie .. not too hard .. but it was hot)

OHHHHHH.. and resisted temptation of boss's banana splits .. yes .. home made ...banana splits .. w/vanilla, strawberry, chocolate ice cream, whip cream w/cherries on top :( :confused: .. I tucked my tail and grabbed JUST the banana and slid back into my office area hoping to avoid looking at how delish they looked :( .. so since I turned down the sweet attack that means I can have a cab tonight right ;) ???? I think so ... DH is not home .. I am gonna log TWO hard w/os today .. and w/the stress thinking some cabs and a jacuzzi are just what the DR ordered!!! :D

it is a scorcher out today .. in the 90's but heat index is HIGH 90's .. supposed to reach 100 this weekend and heat index around 110 :confused::eek: yes Laura wil be chilling in the pool or a/c this weekend .. We are leaving the big babies in the pool room (it is air conditioned seperate from house).. hoping they figure out the doggie door .. I came home last night and they were both in .. would not come out unless I cracked the doggie door :confused: WTH?? SPOILED rotten is what they are!! LOL

It's been a pretty active forum today! I have to confess that I did log in this morning before my workout but didn't post. I checked out Wendy's site and .....almost downloaded the workouts. She is such an enabler. I shouldn't be making any decisions before I've had my 2 cups of coffee.

Soo...because I was checking out Wendy's circuit site I was late starting my workout. It was drillmax this morning. I haven't done this one as made in a very long time. I did have to cut it short, after round 5 but I stilled burned 550 cals and I was happy with that.

Last night I finally went to bootcamp. I missed the first 2 weeks so I decided I had better go. It was a nice workout, mostly agility drills and wt training. One station was jumping jacks and lunges with tubing, second station was running w/high knees to the 50 yard line and doing arm circles while walking back to the 0 yard line, alternating with butt kicks to the 50 yd line and backward arm circles.. The last station was 3 sets of 4 rings set up that we had to jump in alternating with pushup to side planks. We ended with ab work and stretch.

Wendy, Jacque, Jen-I love seeing your ped wars!!!:p I'm with Jacque, I only get about 3k-5k unless I workout. It's terrible for my waistline having a sitdown job.

Laura-glad to hear your mom is doing a bit better. Sending hugs and prayers to her BFF. No DOMs after not working out for so long...you are superwoman. Have a great class tonight.

Lori-I used to run with my son in a trailer and he loved it. Our stroller/trailer could also attach to a bike and I would pull him too. To this day whenever we see a kid in a bike/run trailer, he's tells he remembers that and it was fun. Hope Rylan says the same to you when he's older.

Laura: Boot Camp class sounds like a great workout. How long is it and how many times a week? There's something like that offered around here, but it's held at 5:30 in the morning. While I could physically do it at that time, I wouldn't leave the kids alone for that. I wish they'd offer it in the evening. I agree, the desk jobs are activity killers!! If I didn't get an hour for lunch every day and make myself get out for a walk, I'd bet I'd only average about 3k a day, too.

So I'm happy to report that I managed to get a workout in tonight. I did Jari's RTTC and got a decent calorie burn out of it.

And I surpassed my steps goal, too! 11,318 so far today :D

Goin' to scrounge up some grub. Will check back in before bed~

Popping in here because I think I'll be doing my workout in the AM and won't have time tomorrow.

Tonight I rec'd my new BL vids, started doing Bootcamp (instead of CC) and it was too weight oriented since tomorrow is Power Hour. So........ I pulled out BL Cardio Max and did that. Yeppers - worked up one heck of a drippy mess and *drum roll please* . . . am now at 10,087 steps ! Yee Haww I did it again.

LOL - only posting my step # to make me move myself, no ped war on this front, Ha ! :D

Laura - good to hear Mom is doing better - now for her to be 100% ! :p Sounds like you took your frustration out on your workouts for y'day and today! Best way to release them in my opinion ! ;) Great job eating only the banana - yep, I "authorize" a CAB for you tonight ! :p Probably already had at least one and are in bed as I type ! LOL ! Please forward some of your summer weather in my direction - we did get near 80 today - sure doesn't sound like CA weather for summer, does it?

Diana - Well you sound like your class last night and DM today should have you pleasantly worn out tonight ! :D If you made it through both of those you must be feeling back to normal. Don't you love that the kids are now telling you all their most precious moments? I enjoy that sooo much knowing that it was the most simple things that they enjoyed and remember. My kids had such a blast just visiting with their cousins from Idaho last summer. We had gone up there a handful of times (without their dad) and had the best times. Kids these days don't really see as much of the simple yet enjoyable times that we did since technology has taken over so many areas. Mine loved a couple of camping trips we took - thought it was the coolest and they were teenagers at the time !

Jen - great job on the workout and the steps ! Did you resist the temptation that Laura tried to enable you with? ;)

Ohhhhh Wendyyyyyy . . . did you get to 10K today?

Hope to get here tomorrow - if not - step away ladies ! Even those not keeping track !
