Damage Control ~ Finally Friday!!! June 12

Thought I'd check in now before the day starts, because it's likely it'll be the only chance I get to all day. I've got creditors meetings all day, and then once we get home tonight it's off to Foxwoods for the night! But we're taking the kids with us, because there's an exhibit down there right now, Bodies Revealed, that's supposed to be pretty good. We're going to check that out, probably do the museum tomorrow, maybe lounge by the pool for a while, and come home tomorrow afternoon. The kids should enjoy it :)

I'm skipping the workout this morning. Mostly because I got up a little later than I wanted to, also because I couldn't decide for the life of me what I wanted to do, and lastly because I'll take the time to pack up our bags for tonight. Sound good? Yup, does to me ;)

Wendy: I lol'd about your refusal to get into a step competition with me! C'mon...we'll circle the earth ten times over if we're eggin' each other on ;) Steps are about the only real thing I can accomplish these days, or at least that's what I feel like. It seems like just when I get goin' on something good my physical limitationd sneak up and remind me that I'm not 100% yet :mad: It's starting to really p*ss me off. So 40 miles to the nearest Melting Pot? Bummer! But there are many really good restaurants right at the casino, so we won't be missing anything, trust me.

Lori: DS must have been so happy to have you all to himself the other day! It's so easy to get caught up in the daily chaos that it's important to refocus once in a while. Did you guys do anything special?

Jacque: Don't forget that ped today and join in on the competition ;) I got to 14,900 yesterday! But even with all those steps, I didn't burn as many calories as I did the day before when I did a Jari workout in the morning. I found that a bit interesting. Hope your day isn't too busy today! Great job on MM yesterday.

Laura: How's your mom doing today? So sorry to hear she's dealing with health issues! Sending <<<healing vibes and prayers>>> her way. Did you manage to teach class last night? Hope you are feeling better today.

Diana: Sounds like you and your family are having a tough go with this virus :( Yes, laying in bed counts for getting yourself better! That's most important. Please take it easy and feel better soon!

Okay, off to grab a bit more coffee and start to get myself organized. Will try to get back here at lunch to see what everyone is up to. It's a craptastic day here today with rain, rain, rain in the forecast. It's going to be a very sedentary day :eek: This should be interesting to see how it registers on the GWF.

Good Morning!

Well, my step count was P.A.T.H.E.T.I.C. yesterday! I went to bed at 9:30 with about 6000 under my belt. BLECH! :mad: Today will be a better day though, I swear! :D

Not sure what today's work out will be...I'm thinking cardio/core and maybe a little leg work too since y'day's work out was light on the L/B. I could also just jump right in and start a 4DS rotation today with Legs/Kickbox. Hmmmmmm....What to do? What to do? The other rotation options are still taunting me too though. I hate being so indecisive! :p

Jen:: Sounds like a fun time planned at Foxwoods. Will you get to do any gambling while you are there?? ;) Oh yeah, I have no doubt they have some good food on site so I am not worried about having an uber yummy meal while we are there! :) I can imagine the frustration you are feeling while trying to heal from your surgery. I think it would wear on ANYONE around here! ((((hugs)))) I have to say though, you sound like you are handling it pretty well! I'd probably be in one big long continuous bad mood if I had to deal with that! :mad:

Good Morning!

The weather here today isn't very nice!:confused: I had planned to go for a run with my running partner and DS but that doesn't look very promising! I may get out if DH comes home for lunch.I also need to do some abs work. I keep putting it off and it never gets done.

Im not sure why my belly as been so bad lately. For the past week, after dinner....I am soooo uncomfortable. I don't think I am eating anything different, maybe I am eating to fast? I didn't even eat very much yesterday for dinner and I was so uncomfortable last night. Not to mention bloated! Its been there so long that I am starting to wonder if I am actually bloated???:eek: Prehaps its fat!? LOL

Jen** Hope your day isn't to crazy, but you do have something to look forward to this weekend. I have to work all weekend so whatever you are doing is better then what I am doing:eek: DS and I didn't do anything special. We just did what he wanted to do. Today should be interesting b/c the weather is crappy and I have no where to go....it could be a VERY long day!

Wendy** Tut-Tut...you are going to have to get up a couple hours earlier in the morning just to get those steps in;) My neices and nephew were goven perdometers in school and they always track their steps. Prehaps I should get a loan of theirs!

Diana** I take it you aren't feeling very well? Hope you feel better soon!

Jacque** I haven't read yesterdays thread yet so I don't know what happened and I probably won't read it unless DS is on his best behaviour! So I will be assuming that you are watching the hockey game tonight?:p I may take a peek at it while I am at work, I like watching the tail end.

Laura** Glad to hear you made it back safe and sound! I know we can get cripped out when we think about what could go wrong.

Alright, I should go do something I suppose. There is lots here to do......but I can't get it done with a toddler in the house.

Good morning all !

Checking in quickly here before the day starts. Y'day did not go as planned (not unusual, I know . . . ). Worked nearly all day and after grocery shopping got home only an hour earlier than usual. So I hit the Clean Max and skipped my KB workout. Today I'm PLANNING on a very short day to make up for y'day and we'll see how far I get !

Wendy - Sorry about the short steps yesterday - that is where a half hour walk would put you over the top ! :D On the other hand, you still had, what, about 2,500 extra from the other day so that doesn't sound too bad. Perhaps you can average for the week - it would make the same diff as counting cals.

My ped falls off because of where it sits on my pants so if I lean forward at all, off it comes. Not a really good clip on it I guess. Will see if I can run by SA on my way home and find something better. Will be interested to see which workout you choose today. Are you really starting a rotation? :eek:

Jen - Sounds like you have a fantastic weekend happening ! Enjoy and keep up your great attitude about only working out to what your body will let you. Think about all those people who don't pay attention to their health at all and you know you are way better than that ! Even as one who has not had surgery - I still pull my back all the time and have to ease up. Just something we have to work around. Sounds like you'll be getting lots of step in there anyway ! ENJOY !

Lori - It is funny, but as I started thinking about you and DS and him needing your attention all the time - I realized both you and Wendy have a situation with only one child (since your DD is so much older) and for me, I had two within 1 1/2 years so I only had that first 18 months where I had to be the "center" of my son's attention. And at that, we lived on a court with about 5 other SAHM's all with kids near the same age. We all kept each other company and the kids played together. Never thought about how hard it would be with just me and a child for a few years. :confused: Sounds like you enjoyed the entire day - I am sure he loved it.

Hope you get your run in later sometime and find entertaining things to do with the bad weather. We had showers north of here and may see a few tomorrow. Funny since it is "summer" ! Ha, yeah, sure it is ! Yes, I'll be watching hockey tonight. :D Is your DH rooting for one of the teams or just a good game?

Laura - hope Mom is OK - please let us know . . . Did you get a chance to do your class last night and keep it simple?

Diana - well at least today is the last "work" day of the week. Perhaps you will be better and can enjoy the weekend. So sorry you are all sick ! ITA with Jen - no workout needed when you body needs it's rest. That does take the energy you would have expended exercising !

Okie dokie - off to the "other" grocery store before work. BBL when I need a break from the housework ! :p

Hi Girls!

Well I did 4DS legs weights first premix and did it ALL...weights, cardio and abs. So to answer your question, Jacque, YES, this is the start of a new rotation! :) How long it will last, remains to be seen but if I can make it to 3 weeks with out changing it up then I'll be satisfied! :D I matched Cathe's weights and overall I found the work out to be a bit TOO EASY so next time I will up everything! :) I am not going to do the step routines from 4DS. I am not a fan-choreo is too complex for my liking so I will sub other cardios there. I also want to try to fit in one run per week and make it a longer one then the 20-30 minutes I've been doing. I want to shoot for 50-60 minutes for a while. Not sure how I'm going to work it yet though as I want to continue to limit my cardio to no more then 2 to 2.5 hours a week I think.

Jacque:: I didn't have problems with the clip on either of the peds I bought at SA so I'm sure whatever you buy there will be fine. :) They also sell one that you can put in your pocket but I wasn't sure how accurate that one would be. You are so right about the walks. I don't know why I don't just do that! :rolleyes:

Lori:: You can join the ped party but you are not allowed to wear it during your runs! :p Sorry about your belly. Sometimes these things just happen. I'll bet it'll pass soon enough...:) I started feeling bloated last night and still feel that way today but I am sure this too will pass.

Heading to MIL's for a visit and dinner tonight. Should be fun.

Well I probably don't even belong on this forum since I haven't worked out in a week or more..at least. I am starting to feel better but still lack energy and am pretty lethargic.

My nephew is getting married tomorrow and I need to buy a dress...tonight. I figure I can also wear the dress to my gd's baptism next month too.

Laura-sending healing vibes and well wishes for your Mom, hope she is okay.

Jen-We had an exhibit like that at our musuem a while back. Human bodies were plasticized and you could basically see the insides, bones, muscles, organs etc... It was very cool-hope you enjoy it.

Wendy-hope you like your new 4DS rotation. Maybe I should consider that too. I'm so lost right now from not working out I feel like I don't even know where to start. You know I was rolling my eyes at you and your Jari w/o....:D

Lori-hope you get everything done that you want to. I'm sure its hard when you have a little one who wants your attention all the time. I too will be watching the hockey game tonight.

Jacque-well my appetite is back but energy has not returned yet. I will be watching the hockey game tonight. I would like to see the Penquins win the cup this year. It would be a nice win for them. I'm also looking into getting the GWF but they are a little pricey for me right now, especially if you have to pay for the monthly service. On the reviews it wasn't mentioned that if the company went out of business your unit would be pretty much useless. You could go back to tracking on a free nutrition program and logging your activities elsewhere.

Wendy-the fitbit looks very promising, and much more affordable. Not sure if it does everything the GWF does, but I do like that the website is free. It appears to, it obviously doesn't have the display, but it uploads automatically which is a nice feature. Oh, and the fact that two of them can synch to one base-microsoft can't even get that to work as advertised for itunes.

Checking in from work:) My belly is starting to feel better but only b/c I didn't feed it much for supper:confused: Whatever it takes, Id say! I hate feeling that way. Prehaps I need to detox or something?:)

So b/c the weather was so crappy and I was dying of boredom I ended up doing MM today. Im not suppose to do any weight work this week b/c I am starting the 2nd box set of STS but MM was calling my name:p And I am going to be sore tomorrow! Everytime I do a workout that I haven't done in a while I am sore the next day.Actually, its starting all ready. And when DH came home for lunch I hoped on the TM for a quick 4 mile interval run.There is something weird going on with my left leg.:( It kinda hurts when I run...but not really. Its not my knee, its my quad. I must have did something to it.

Jacque** I totally understand skipping the workout and cleaing instead, that needs to happen in my house more often:confused: DS was pretty good again today. DD not so much. She ranted and raved about something...so I grounded her, then I ease dropped while she was on the phone (she thought I had left the house) and she wishes I had died while I was gone.:mad: She is in her own little world at all times. Im starting to wonder if they are all like it, or if its just her!
I think DH is routing for Pittisburg b/c of Sydney Crosby...who is canadian (but you probably already know that) but Danny Cleary plays with Detroit and he is from here...so its a tough call to make. Everyone would like to see him bring home the cup again.

Wendy** I see you are bragging????:rolleyes::p The only thing I ever have trouble lifting is the stupid barbell for curls! I can only use 10 lbs on each end, but I can lift 20 lbs db's and I don't think my bb weighs that much. Maybe I should weigh it?

Diana** Did you buy your dress yet? Hope you don't have to much trouble searching for one! Enjoy watching the hockey game.

Hope everyone is having a good evening. I am hoping to get a run in tomorrow but I have to be here again 11:30 tomorrow morning:confused: so it will have to be after that.
