Good Morning!

Just getting us started...I am off today ( still got up at 5:00 am), so my workout, 4DS Chest, Back & shoulders, will be a little later.

BB in a bit,

Robin: I know you have errands etc today, but if you stop by before you leave..

HAVE A GREAT VACATION! :7

Deb

Hi, I'm back,

Just sitting here with a cup of coffe, so glad not to be going to work today.

Robin:
thanks for the site on packing..very informative.. I put it in "My Favorites", to look at again before my next trip. I hope you have a good time hiking, etc.

Jennifer:
You have us wondering now.. what is the Word doc you are working on? did that call happen?

Shelly:
Don't fret too much about your eating this week...you are on vacation and that's what it is all about!;-)..I am sure you balanced it out with all the stairs and gardening etc.

Shannon:
Those horses got their spring "mini-pedi" hey? LOve hearing stories about horses and farms... I wish we lived on one. Did you get that eliptical workout in with CC?

Leanne:
Glad your jury duty is over..I guess I don;t feel too sorry for the person..everyone makes choices...his were bad ones. Did you get that workout in before going to jury duty? Yes we had some things to get for the Chicago trip.. we bought a little "Sherpa" bag that is airline approved to have "Keegan" as a carry-on.. and we just have to gather up little things like plastic bags, small dish with a cover for water, paper towels.. just stuff "in case". I am sure with waiting around the airport before boarding, he may have an accident..since he is only a baby!

Kara:
It sounds like your kitchen will look great! Do you have any ideas on what you will decorate with or colors you will put in after you are done? We had our kitchen remodeled 10 years ago, and we still don;t have the molding done around the floorx( ...one of DH's "get around to it" jobs he never got around to do.

Tneah:
I'm going to look into that I-Train you mentioned..I like the hills too. I got the sprint one when I bought 6 with that special they had going...it was hard to pick out 6 at one time. Especially since I don't do the 60 minute ones. DH swears the bunnies are gone, he said he looked twice that day, peered into the nest too.. I hope he is right. I am going to have him fill in the nest this weekend, and I will cut back the plant they are under, then we will see. Will you be able to adjust the dose on your own until you get to see the other DR? Is it too late to wean yourself off all together..then start fresh with new DR?

Lainie:
I'm with you on the house woes!x( ....As DH says:.."the only thing that works in old houses is the people!"..How are your legs this morning? will you be going to the DERm apt?

Well I'm off to sit and have more coffee while DH eats breakfast, then do my workout...

Have a great day!

Deb

Goodmorning melters.

Deb, enjoy your long weekend.

I am on va-ca-tion! I'm meeting my bagel-buddy in a bit, doing the grocery shopping for DD and running a few last minute errands. Then back home to finish packing and do 4DS LIS. I'm sure I'll be in and out or here all day. See you all later.

Morning all!

Well, yesterday was super-busy but I got so much done! It was wonderful! And today (don't tell) I'm letting Sophie stay home from school so we can have a whole day together.

Deb - I got up early too! Even though I didn't want to... hmph.

Robin - YAY for vacay! Mine's almost done - waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah:( I'm doing 4DS LIS today too. Can't decide whether to just go do it now and get it over with.

Today is grocery shopping and more gardening (love it!) and I'm not sure what else. But I'm officially completely broke. I sat down and did my June budget this morning and OMG, I haven't been this bad off in a long time. I'm going to have to be really careful this month.

I'll be back later for sure.

Hi, Melters!

Deb - enjoy your day off! Sounds like you're starting it off right with a relaxing cup of coffee. As for the horses... no, not a mini-pedi. These girls get their "nails" done every eight weeks, and sometimes more, if they're growing too fast or splitting. If they wore shoes, I'd have to have it done every four weeks! Hoof maintenance is very, very important. I learned my lesson about that a long time ago!

Robin - it's Yellowstone or Bust!!! Wooohoooo! Don't forget to get in bed early tonight. What time is your flight? 2:30 a.m. or something like that? UGH. It'll be worth it, though!

Shelley - what do you and Sophie have planned? I'm glad you're letting her stay home!

Last night I did CC 7. It sure felt good. But I felt it pulling my hip flexor from the very beginning, and sure enough, it's sore this morning. Not as bad as last time though. I didn't do any high speed sprints and did all my level 4s as hills. I guess the next time I'll have to eliminate level 4 hills and see if the sprints are worse or better.

TGIF, and then some. I think I'm ready for another vacation! :7

I had a few realizations, awakenings, or whatever yesterday, about my own personal fitness. I'll spare you the details, but it kind of is tied in with that obsessing I was doing a while back. Maybe now I can finally relax and enjoy my workouts, and the program that I know works for me.

Hi everyone! Hooray for Friday!

I'm feeling a bit depressed this morning since I'm up 2.4 pounds on the scale. UG! I know that my eating hasn't been super great this week, but I don't feel like I've put on that much weight. I'm trying not to stress about it, and will have to just clean things up this week.

Today is my rest day, but I may do my Eion Finn yoga tape later on. Last night, I did a bit of Ravi and Ana's Yoga Bliss Hips DVD and it was really a nice way to relax. Today will also be Clean Max and Laundry Max. Fun, fun!

Deb -- I always end up getting up early on my days off, too. Our bodies just get used to that early schedule, huh?! Sounds like you're having a peaceful morning with your coffee. Do you have any special plans for today or will you just hang out around the house? Sounds like you have everything ready for picking up little Keegan. I can't wait to see photos once you have him back home next week!

Robin -- Be sure to check in before you leave! Didn't you say that you had a really late flight tonight? Hooray for vacation!

Shelley -- Oh, how special that Sophie is staying home with you! When I was little, I used to love being sick so I could stay home with Mom and just read and snuggle. Has buying stuff for the garden been the culprit for overspending? It always seems, too, like the change of seasons requires more spending since you have to get new things for the shift in the weather.

Shannon -- Glad that the horses had their "nails" done and that all looks good! I'm glad that you had a nice realization about your workouts yesterday. I need one of those, too, so I can stop obsessing!

Tneah -- I'm sending you great big {{{HUGS}}}, babe! I'm so sorry that this has been such a hard week for you. I know that your b-day was a bit upsetting, and then to have to deal with those awful cramps and that tiredness just made things so much worse. You poor thing! Is there any way that you can get in with the new Dr. before that July appointment? In the meantime, maybe you could go back in to your current Dr. and talk with him in person. I hope this all gets straightened out soon! Sending you love and hugs!!!

Lainie -- How is the burn doing today? If it's still bad, you should definitely cancel today's light treatment. I checked out the new Spider Man photos on your blog last night and they are so cute. How is the Spark People thing working out?

Kara -- How is the painting going? Are you almost done with the kitchen? Thank you so much again for all the great help with the kettlebell stuff! Last night, I watched the Go Fit demo video that came with the KB I got at Target, and tomorrow will be my first workout with it. I'm so excited!

Jennifer -- Good luck today with that phone call! Keep us all posted, OK?

Good Morning everyone!

Robin—Have a great vacation! Hiking is so much fun, isn’t it? I hope DD finds a sitter soon. We had to buy a new refrigerator last year. They are so expensive! Our remodel is a bit forced. A year and a half ago, our dishwasher leaked, well, exploded, and we have extensive water damage to our floor. Not fun! I recently discovered craigslist.org and have found some good deals on appliances and furniture from people who constantly upgrade. Have you heard of it?

Deb—I laughed so hard at the “get around to it” jobs! I know how that goes! I 2nd Tneah’s recommendation for the Tread ‘n Tush iTrain. It is fun! Enjoy your day off!

Jennifer—How are you?

Shelley—How is the garden coming? It must be beautiful! Enjoy your special day with Sophie!

Shannon—How is your hip flexor feeling? Do you ever find that hills on the elliptical bother your knees? I having trouble with that and am not sure if it is my form or not? I love my elliptical though! Any plans for the weekend?

Leanne—Hooray for summer vacation for real this time! Don’t worry about that *(&(()$# scale. Do your clothes feel tight? It is probably just water weight! I know how frustrating it is though! I am so excited for you to try the kettlebells! The painting is coming along. I ran out of paint yesterday and need to get some more. I have half of the second coat left. Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend?

Lainie—How are you feeling? I am so sorry you are going through this! Are you going back today?

Tneah—I am so sorry you have had a rough week. Are you feeling any better? Did DH make it home? I do believe lifting makes me poofy. I lean out on vacation when I don’t lift for a week even if my eating isn’t all that great. Weird.

I am off to do PS Legs in a minute. I did S&H shoulders earlier this morning. Then I “get” to run some errands! I hope everyone has a good morning!

Kara

Good Morning All:)

Deb, I cannot wait for Keegan's arrival too! :) Yeah! Get ready for people falling all over themselves to get a look at your precious pup in his new little sherpa bag. When Georgie was Keegans age, he looked just like a little black bear cub-with an afro! :) I nicknamed him "Shaft" after the movie, he reminded me of that character. We even still have his baby teeth. Ah, yes, proud parents here.

Shannon, your horses are lucky to have you as their owner. I understand about the hooves, thrush and other horrid things can develop in the hooves if not properly cared for, and where I grew up, I would see so many horses that had overgrown hooves and it was so sad. You are a good "mommy".;) Glad to hear you are reaching a peaceful state in regards to your exercise program. Its tough, I have had a hard week with it myself.

Robin, so excited for you! You will have so much fun, and will probably come back 5 pounds lighter--vacation does that because we tend to be more active naturally, now if I could only do that in my everyday life!:p

Leanne, Bliss Hips? Love the name, sounds like a workout right up my alley even though I hate yoga. Will look into that. Have a blast with your clean max today, I too have laundry max to do...hey, and don't sweat the poundage, I gained three pounds this past week, and realize I gain and lose this same three pounds constantly!

Shelley, how nice Sophie is with you today. My stepmom used to allow us one day to stay home and go thrift shopping with her, I have good memories of that, we would go out to lunch and have a "girls day out".

Hi to Lainie, Kara and Jennifer...

Well, I am waiting for doctor #1 to call today, he is supposed to adjust my dose. I actually felt a little better yesterday since I did not take that higher dose.
I wish I could see that new doctor sooner, but its hard with specialists, it takes forever and a day to get in, may look into a specialist in San Diego actually, we will be going down the first of July and staying through August on the boat.

Have to take Georgie to his "hairdresser" this morning.:7 DH is coming back this afternoon! I miss him terribly, one day is great, two is fine, but three days without my sweetie? Horrible.

Okay guys, will be back later gators...

Leanne - please don't stress. 2.4 pounds isn't anything to worry about! I fluctuate like that on a regular basis, which is why I stay away from the scale except for a very rare occasional check-in! I hope you enjoy your yoga tonight.

Kara - where do you place your feet on the elliptical pedals? I found that the further back my feet were, the more stress I felt in my knees. I make sure mine are in the middle (from front to back), or maybe a bit forward. And then I move them all the way in to the inside of the pedals - otherwise, it feels like I'm in a straddle! I also shift my feet forward during the rests or slower work, just for a change. It helps to take pressure off my toes.

Tneah - isn't it just a shame that we worry over our workouts? I've decided that I want mine to be FUN, so I'm sticking with a routine that I enjoy. To heck with "wonder" results. I know I'm in good shape, and I know I'll never have a perfect bod. :p I've seen lots of horses with bad hoof problems too, and it's sad. A lot of them end up being put down. ;( So, does Georgie have a hair cut now?

Folks, I do not want to work today. I really need to, though, and get moving on this big ol' project. Will somebody please give me a kick in the patooty?

Hey, Shannon -- kick, kick!;-) Hope that the big project is alright! Is it as bad as you thought it would be? It's funny you mention the having fun thing; just the other day, I realized I've been stressing so much about putting together the "perfect" rotation each month that I haven't been enjoying my workouts as much. I've been trying to have more fun, too!:)

Kara -- Glad that the painting is coming along smoothly! Isn't that frustrating when you run out of paint, though?! Even though the dishwater episode forced the remodel, I hope that you're enjoying the outcome of the new appliances! Thanks for the kind words about the scale. My clothes don't feel tight and I even was thinking that I lost some weight this week. Hmm. I really need to not sweat the scale! I'll keep you posted on how tomorrow goes with the KB. I'm really worried that I'm going to hit myself with it or let go and have it smash into my TV!:+

Tneah -- Hooray for DH coming back! And will he still go see the new SATC movie with you this weekend? What a sweetie! Now, you know that when you're here in San Diego in July, we *have* to get together! No excuses! I wish I had some recommendations for a good Dr. for you in SD, but I have Kaiser and so my Dr. is closed to non-Kaiser folks. Yes, the Yoga Bliss Hips workout is a lot of fun! It's Kundalini yoga, and I felt silly the first few times doing it, but it's really fun. I think I have three of their DVD's now and want to get some more!:) Here's the link to Bliss Hips:

http://www.amazon.com/Yoga-Bliss-Hi..._bbs_sr_9?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1212162750&sr=8-9

Cool! Thanks Leanne! Will order that one now, I really need to keep my flexibility too, we concentrate so much on fat loss, definition, all of that and forget about being flexible--well at least I forget even though I try and stretch, I sometimes skip it which is bad! And yes, we need to get together for sure!:)

Shannon, KICK! Did that help?:p Did you get my other email?

I need to have fun with my workouts again too. I had to ask myself this week, is totally depriving myself all week and doing tons of cardio worth weighing a few pounds less and maybe having a little less bellyfat? Or is it more fun not to worry as much, eat well, but not obsess over it, work out doing what I feel like and having three more pounds around the middle or on my thighs? Is it worth it? I am starting to think, not so much. I am sick of having to face every workout trying to push as hard as I can...there are days you really want to push, but others, a gentler approach would be nice, but is there such a thing for us diehards?:p I often envy those people who workout, but don't worry that they missed an arm workout, or skipped a cardio session "just because".

Anyway, my own musings here...I think I might do an easy bike ride this morning, and regroup for the upcoming exercise week tomorrow and Sunday.:)

Leanne and Tneah - thanks for the kicks... I just got back from lunch and Need.To.Get.Busy. Sigh.

It sounds like the three of us are all in the same boat! Let's promise each other that we will have fun working out for the entire month of June. How's that?

Tneah..... no, I didn't get your other email! Dang. What's up with that, anyhow???? How weird.

Shannon, check your email again, I just resent it.:) Hopefully it works this time.

Well I did a very, very east 40 minute "Recharge" bike Spinervals workout. It was great. Now for that mid-morning nap...:p kidding, well sort of kidding.

My doc called, has some new meds for me, will pick them up today...hopefully they work.

Oh, Shannon, what a great idea! What do you think, Tneah? Can the three of us (and anyone else who wants to join us!) just focus on FUN this coming month? I love it! Let's try to stop obsessing and get back to enjoying our workouts more!

Tneah -- I'm so glad to hear that your Dr. has some new meds! Is it a totally different prescription? I hope it gets rid of those food cravings and that tiredness! I've been obsessing so much, too, even when I tell myself how silly it is. Sigh!

Shannon -- Hope that the busy-ness can kick in! Only a few hours left until the weekend, right?! You can make it!

I just had a super early lunch after cleaning house and showering. I think that I might watch a movie! _P.S. I Love You_ came from Netflix yesterday, and I was just thinking of how fun it would be to watch it this afternoon. I hardly ever watch movies during the day . . . it feels so decadent! Of course, I'll have to stay away from the dark chocolate covered pretzels that are still residing in the pantry! }(

Argh, I still have itches from the sunburn. It's not total agony like it has been, though. The last couple days I've been in tears a few times because it's so bad. It's all over my chest and my back (and a bit on my arms as well). It makes it hard out in public (or at home when the plumber was here yesterday) to scratch. Plus I know it's probably better not to scratch anyway. I called the dermatologist office today and left a message--no answer yet. Anyway, enough of that.

Good news today--got a babysitter for next Tuesday (when I have to have teeth out before getting braces). It's a college girl recommended by another mom at Ewan's nursery school. So soon I'll be going ahead with the braces. Eek!

Deb, definitely skipped going to the dermatologist this morning. No way was I going to let them fry me again today when I'm still recovering from Tuesday's frying. Yikes. Not sure if I'll go next week or what. Maybe I could just wear a long sleeve shirt and they could fry just my legs next time since those are the only places that still need the zapping and aren't already burned.

Robin, I hope you have a totally fab vacation. I hope you know we are all jealous!

Shelley, hope you're enjoying the day with Sophie. My mom used to keep me home from school so we could have a girl's day out, too. I loved those days.

Shannon, sounds like you've really been pondering your health/fitness. I think I have the opposite problem--I don't obsess enough (my DH might disagree, though).

Leanne, girlfriend, don't you worry about that weight--it's probably muscles anyway. If you like I'll tell you how much I currently weigh and it will make you feel so very thin--which you are. Glad you liked the silly Spider-Man photos. I'll have more up soon. SparkPeople is o.k. so far. I'm working on my portion size. It's so easy for me to just shovel more in--especially of cereal. I'm such a cereal hog.

Kara, sounds like you are getting a good workout in today. Hope you have some fun errands today and not the annoying kind.

Hello also to Shannon, Tneah, & Jennifer. The little man is not napping but being noisy so I need to check on him and cut short the personals for now.

Hope to BBL.

Tneah - nope. It's not there. Don't worry about it, but thanks a bunch for trying so hard! I hope your new meds work so you can have a nice weekend!

Leanne - Glad you like the idea. :7 I hope it works for you. And watching a movie in the middle of the day sounds like FUN! Enjoy!

Lanie - I know the light treatment is necessary, but you have such fair skin. Can the dermatologist adjust the strength or something? I'm thinking rosacea would be better than having skin cancer, if you know what I mean.

Hi gang. I'm so behind. I stopped at the AAA on the way home to get maps and when I got into my car, it wouldn't start. It's probably the starter and had to be towed. Yes, that is the car we were going to Philly in. We'll have to take the "spare" car. Thank goodness we have a spare! We leave at 2:30am for a three hour drive to Philly. Our flight isn't until 6:30am. I'm not sure if I'll get back here or not. I'll miss you all. So sorry for today's lack of personals. I don't even have time to read the above!

Hi girls...

Well, today hasn't been the greatest. I'm not in a very good mood. Stupid PMS. And it's coolish and grey here, which has me feeling blah.

Sorry I've been so self-absorbed lately.

Tneah - I'm sorry you've been going through so much physical (and mental) turmoil. I hope getting the meds sorted out helps to get you sorted out:) I'm glad your DH is back. I hate it when Chris is away. He'll be away for about four days this month and I'm NOT looking forward to it at all. We always fight when he comes home.:(

Deb - I can't imagine how cute Keegan is going to look all snuggled in that carrier!!! How is your day off going?

Lainie - How awful about your sunburn from the light treatment! Yikes! That doesn't seem right to me. Isn't there something you can put on it? I know aloe vera gel works wonders for me.

Shannon - Am I too late to kick you?

Leanne - I'm so in for the month of fun workouts. I've been trying to put together a rotation for June and what I managed to put together looks horrifying. I'd much rather just play this month. So count me in!

Jennifer - We're still waiting to hear about your life-changing phone call. It's not fair to just drop that little gem and leave us hanging, you know!;)

Robin - Oh no on the car breaking down! Isn't that always the way? I'm sending happy vibes to the 'spare car' and I hope you have an absolutely splendid vacation!

Well, I feel like crap. Every part of me aches, my hip is killing me, making it difficult to stand, my back hurts and my stomach is a big roiling mess. Probably from all the junk I've eaten this week. I just feel like crying. Sorry.

So I just got done watching _PS I Love You_ and cried the whole two hours. It was such a bittersweet film, and I know that Tneah had warned us about it! Now I just want to eat comfort food and mope. I was going to cook something healthy for dinner tonight, but may just wallow in my crapulance (sp?) and order our usual Friday night pizza.}(

Oh, Shelly, sending you great, big {{{HUGS}}}! What do you think is causing all that hip and back pain? Is it the PMS? Can you take something to help with the pain? Yes, let's all have a month of just fun workouts! We all need to stress less and have more fun! Is Sophie doing OK?

Robin -- Sounds like you won't get a chance to check back in, but I'm sending you positive vibes that you get to the airport tonight safely and on time! Hope you have a fabulous time!!:)

Lainie -- I agree with Shannon -- those light treatments don't sound so good for your fair skin, esp. since they're making you burn! Did the derm. call you back? Can you try to get something for the pain and itching from them before they close? I know what you mean about portion control and cereal. I haven't been buying any cereal I like for months and months because I have no self-control with it -- or with any carbs for that matter! Remember how Seinfeld had all those boxes and boxes of cereal on his shelf? Sounds like the two of us!:) I'm sure you look fabulous!!!

Shannon -- How did the rest of the day go? Hopefully it flew by speedily!

Tneah -- Did you end up taking that nap?
:)
