Oatmeal bars

Ingredients

1 medium apple, peeled
2 oz old-fashioned oats, mine are organic ( about 4 tablespoons)
8 almonds, chopped
optional : add sweetener and /or a pinch of cinnamon to your taste

Directions:

Heat oven to 350 F.
Cut the apple in pieces, put them in your blender and liquidize them. At this point ,if you want a more decadent taste, add the sweetener and the pinch of cinnamon and mix well. Add the oats and the almonds and stir quickly, until you have a sticky mass.

With the help of a spoon divide the dough in 4 parts and lay them on an ungreased cookie sheet. Using a knife or a spatula give each spoonful the form of a bar.

Bake 25-30 minutes: the bars should be crispy outside and tender inside .Remove the bars to rack and let them cool completely. For a more scrumptious result you can save a slice of apple and instead of liquidize it you can add it chopped in small pieces to the dough, it will really make the difference!
