<--forgot to mention that King Cake is the traditional "cake" that they have for Mardi Gras
<--has had several version of it and has not been impressed with any of them
<--has had it where it's more of a bread with sugar glaze on top to more of a coffee cake with sugar glaze on top
<--all of which were sprinkled with green sugar/purple sugar/yellow sugar on top of the sugar frosting
<--oh, and that there's a tiny plastic baby that's baked into it and whomever gets the piece with the baby has to buy the King Cake for the party next year
 
<---found a recipe for King Cake that sounds like a wonderful cinnamon braided bread thing
<---wants to make it, but wonders if she will condemn all her co-workers to the firey pit if they eat it on Ash Wed
<---may just wait till next year
<---or could call it an Ash Wed. Cake
<---has had a nice wallow in the mudhole that we affectionatly call the HH

<--- has received some scary news about a good friend's nephew who was just born yesterday
<--- explains that he had to be flown to a special hospital & they will perform surgery on the 1-day old within 36 hours & they have only given him a 50/50 chance
<--- adds that the mama also lost a lot of blood & had to receive a transfusion this morning but they are still allowing her to travel to the center where her baby will be
<--- is very concerned about all involved
<--- is sorry to burden all of you with that but <--- feels very helpless right now

<--- says it's like a giant danish pastry that you can get with either a cheese or fruit filling

<--- says her store doesn't bake the the plastic baby into the cake -- they nestle it on top somewhere
