you only need 2 spring clips, right?

I just opened up the barbell set I bought from Walmart, and it came with six spring clips. These are extra, right? You only use two at a time, right? One on each side? Not any between plates?

The website description says the set comes with two clips, so I was surprised to see six.

My barbell set came with two short poles that I can use to make dumbbells. If you also have these two short poles, perhaps the extra four clips are for these.

I got extras too (just got mine last week). I figured they were in case you lost one since they're so small. I just stashed them in a drawer w/various other smaller workout stuff b/c I'm pretty sure I WILL lose one or two at some point in my life. ;-)

You're lucky you got extra's! They will come in very handy during Cathe workouts especially because she changes weights so often. I will use four clips at a time. Start with say 10 pound plates and then you need to add another 20 pounds (just an example) so I'll just add another 10 pound plate to each end without taking off the first clip. Then when you need to lower the weight back to the original 20 you just take the second set of plates off. This method makes changing weights go much faster.

Yeah--that crossed my mind! Does that really feel okay? Doesn't mess with the balance too much?

Hey! I do that, too!
