Good morning!

Deanie - Great job on the deadlifts yesterday! You're making seriously good progress. :)

Jane - Sounds like a killer workout the other day. How were the Tabatas? I'm filing Crazy Jane's "I'm Pain" Triple Play for a cool, dry day. ;)

Marcy - Nice workput yesterday. How was Salsa class?

Rhonda - Sounds like you're having a blast! I don't blame you one bit for getting the fun in before school starts back up. Enjoy it!!! :)

Tammy - There's nothing wrong with doing parts of the AOS stuff. They're tough workouts!

Got to the gym last night, and did a BB complex, some back squats, and some presses. I'm thinking about focusing on strength for a while, but need to come up with some programming that makes sense. Anyway, here's last night:

------------
Warm up
lots of limbering up and air squats, then
3x Barbell Complex @ 55#
1 BB Complex = 6 DL, 6 bent rows, 6 hang power clean, 6 front squat, 6 push press, 6 back squat, 6 push up (no dropping the bar between exercises)

WOD
Back squat 5-5-5-3-3-3
Shoulder press 5-5-5-3-3-3

BS - 75-85-95-115-115-115
SP - 45-55-55-60(1)-55(2)-quit

Back squats felt good.
Shoulder presses felt really, really hard.
------------------------

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning

Woke up too early this morning:eek: and couldn't get back to sleep! I definitely think it affected my workout, but at least I did the workout:p. I did SIM today and continued with the same weights and 15 seconds rest between exercises.

Gayle::: Great workout! I like the barbell complex, looks tough!

Jane::: How was the workout yesterday? I also filed the Jane's workout of pain away to use later! thanks ( I think ;) )

Marcy::: How was your salsa class?

Tammy::: Maybe take a rest week and do nothing? then you can start fresh/and be refreshed!!;)

waves to everyone else!!

off to post pictures..........

Okay, hope this works... I like the furniture, its just not as "warm" as I was thinking it would be. I think I need some throw pillows and an afgan with gold and browns in it....

Good Afternoon!

Today I did Tear It Up (I'm posting someone's review (although somewhat condensed) of it with my weights):

Tear It Up has more cardio in it than the other Slim Series workouts. The cover says it's a Total Body Blast. It's a long one like Shape It Up -- 78 minute long. But it's a lot different. There's no floor work at the end -- all of the lower body work is done standing. I like to do this one in between Shape It Up and Tone It Up or either of those and Firm It Up because it doesn't work the lower body as hard as any of those (and prevents overtraining). It does have a ton of upper body work though. It's a full body circuit workout where you alternate weights and cardio, weights and cardio.

2) Warm-up (5:20)
3) Upper body:
upright row (5#), bent-over row (8#), standing chest press (8#), rotator cuff (started with 8s and went to 5s), W-press (5#), reverse fly (5#), bicep curls (5# - I can't believe it but my bis were actually hurting with 5s!), tricep overhead extension (5s - another tough one) (9:31)
4) Cardio: knee pull, uppercut and front punch, side lunge with toe touch, knee pull in low lunge
position, jog, jack (4:09)
5) Lower body (all 8#): squat, squat + knee up, lunge, dead lift, plie squat, calf raise (7:56)
6) Cardio: front kick + back kick, side kicks, plyo squats, jog, jack (4:10)
7) Upper body (all 5#) (8:22) and lower body (all 10#) (8:11)
front raise + pull back, chest pull-up, side raise, bicep curl, hammer curl, wide bicep curl, reverse fly, tricep kickback
squat, ski squat, low end squat, dead lift, one-legged dead lift, plie squat, calf raise
8) Cardio: burpees, fast run, jog, jack (3:10)
9) Upper body with tubing: one-arm row, bicep curl, overhead press, side raise, tricep overhead
extension (9:42)
10)Lower body: squat + side kick (5#), dip (5#), deadlift (10#), plie squat + calf raise (5#) (6:41)
11) Abs (4:30) - crunches, obliques, reverse crunches, bicycles, full crunches
12) Stretch (6:30)

Deanie - Furniture looks great! I have the same paint color in my family room. Looks great and is very relaxing!

Gayle/Deanie - Salsa class was fun. Did all moves from last four classes and learned one more although we ran out of time at the end to practice it too much. That's it for Salsa for a little while. Next week I have a friend visiting so we're going line dancing. The next few weeks after that are Rumba, Tango and then Quickstep workshops.

Tammy - I agree with the others about the AOS workouts. There were plenty of days I only did half the workouts or a few rounds. Just keep doing them and you'll be able to go longer.

Gayle - Great workout! It's not very often I pick up a barbell anymore.

Rhonda - Hope you're enjoying your last few days off!

Waves to all!

Hi Everyone!

The Tabata workout last night was great. Afterwards I did med ball tosses with my 25# ball and then did 2 rounds of farmers walk with my 25# kettlebells. Fun!

Well I was suppose to go running today but it was raining....AGAIN so I did the first Insanity workout. It was great. Fun and challenging athletic drills.

Deanie ~ I love your new furniture.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hi All!

Today was HIS cardio and then I did 50 KB swings with my heaviest KB. I wanted to do 100, but I'll work up to that.

Marcy ~ Great workout, thanks for the encouragement.

Deanie ~ Love the furniture, mine is very similar! Thanks for the suggestion, I'm not sure what to do.

Gayle ~ Great workout. You're right, I shouldn't beat myself up and just take one day at a time.

Have a good night all!
