Wouldn't it be cool to pick our music in vids??

I was thinking, since music can make or break a video...whether you end up loving or hating it.....why do we have no say in it like we do otherwise??

Wouldn't it be OH SO COOL if we could have links to audio samples of what Cathe was thinking of using/could use and then vote on them!! Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a whole list of options?

I yearn for music as upbeat, energetic and flowing as the Intesity Series (think Imax 2). As I said in another thread, IMAX 2 was great because the music builds and builds until the "blasts" and then fades when the blast is over. I like that style. In some of Cathe's newer tapes it sometimes feels like the music doesn't change at all and the energy just isn't there during the blasts.

Anyway, just a thought!}(

I totally agree with you. I know exacly what you mean about Imax
2 and the music building up right befor the blasts. I love that part also. I think it is really difficult for Cathe or any other instructor out there to get the rights to these songs for what ever reason or it might be really costly. Otherwise I think they would chose better upbeat choices that really push you harder. I know that during Imax2 when I'm clost to giving up and I hear a really good song I forget about how tired I am or that my heart ir about to jump out of my throat and continue with the workout.

I noticed that in the new series Cathe uses one song more than once.........

I agree, since our tastes are so different.
There are some tunes that I find very motivating (much of the music Cathe picks for kickboxing, the music that accompanies the final chest/first back exercise in Slow and Heavy, the music that goes with the "one-two-three over" move in IMAX2), and other music that I find DEmotivational (that gosh-aweful electronic country thing at the very beginning of Low Impact Step, which kept me from actually doing the workout for a long time, and was one factor that made me decide to get rid of the workout all together).

Some people love the top-40 remakes. I prefer original (that is "not heard everywhere else" not "by top 40 artists) music with a heavy beat. I'd say "techno," but not if that means the metallic/synthetic sound that is on some of the tracks on this new series (tracks which would be perfect if it weren't for that tinniness).

It would be theoretically possible (though difficult) to offer two or more music tracks for each workout (they would have to be synced for bpm, which would be the tough part, and it would cost more to have 2 tracks per workout). They would be like the "normal/no music/music louder" options on these DVD's, but instead of "no music" or "music louder" they would actually be different music track options.

I've actually owned workouts that had a choice of 2 or 3 (?) soundtracks. Can't remember what they were at this point (so obviously, this was the only memorable trait about them!).

Well, I know that Shelley but it would be the popular vote. The drawback there I guess is that those who lose (ha ha) might not want to get the DVD's then whereas total ignorance you order all of them and hate them later.:7

Janice,

I think it would be OH SO COOL but I have to agree with Shelley; people would still be disappointed. I like relying on Cathe to pick the music because she knows the choreography/format of the workout. Some music I like more than other music or songs. Given what is available, I like Cathe's selections for workout music.

Seeing the decision that Christi made, based partly on the music, I get the feeling that good music is more expensive & hard to find these days. Maybe selling an additional music CD for the workouts would be a good option? People could be given the option to mix their own sound track from available listings. Of course that would probably get expensive but at least those who wanted different music would have more options & be responsible for the extra cost.

It's a great idea to think about,
jordan
