Will I ever get Step Blast?

I'm fairly new to Cathe. I got started with some old step tapes from the library (Step Max, Step Heat, Body Max.) It took me a couple times through to get the choreography down.

This morning I put in Step Blast and I spent most of the time staring at the tv with my mouth hanging open. I rewound lots and somehow, in the confusion, managed to work up a sweat. Any hopes I'll catch on to the foot work? I debated just throwing in the tape and dancing around my step to make it look good so my family won't laugh so hard at me.

RE: Will I ever get Body Blast?

Trish, you'll get it. Just be patient and give yourself a couple more times at it before expecting to master it. I bet the next time you do SB, you''l be amazed at how much you retained. I find some workouts I don't think I will ever get the choreography and then the next time it just starts to click. I know that 3rd combo took me a few times to get, but it will come.

RE: Will I ever get Body Blast?

It took me about six frustrating workouts to get Step Blast -- now I LOVE it! If you aren't alreading doing so, I suggest learning SB on a 4" step.

Stick with it Trish--it took me a while too, & now that I have it down it's one of my favorites along w/Power Max.

I will be trying Step Blast this Friday for the first time (Cathe's January rotation). I've watched it a teeny bit on FitTV and it looks really fun (and a little complicated). Now that I've done some of Cathe's other step workouts for a while I'm hoping it won't take too long to grasp Step Blast, but it always takes a few times with a new step workout.

Power Max -- absolutely one of my favorites! I love that workout! I'm using Power Max as a replacement for Rhythmic Step in the January rotation, since I dont' own RS ... yet!

Hang in there, Trish. Give it time and you'll know it well.

I'll be here learning it, too. :)

Hang in there honey! you'll get it! it's a little "tricky", but alot of fun and a big calorie burner. when you get lost just keep marching. also, the hardets part for me was the 360's b/c i had never seen that one. just do 4 knee repeaters on each corner until you get that one (if you haven't got it already) that was the part that confused me!

jes :D

wow im also new,and i felt the same way,im use to the basic step,so what would you say is a not so compicated cathe step video?

If you can do the hitch kick, you can do anything. That was a particularly spazzy move for me and I often feared for my chin. You step on the lowest riser really helps because your foot can easily clear the moves.

Amen on the 360's. I had to put it away for a while and when I went back a month later - boom - I understood them.
I also am very pivot challenged. I simply don't pivot and I may never pivot. I do something that has the same number of beats (like a basic) whenever the rest of the world pivots.

Good Day Everyone,

I had the same problem. I did Step Blast last night for the 3rd time and still messed up on certain parts but I know I will get it and I LOVE the tape. Keep trying. It's that fast repeater thingy I end up on the wrong side of my step. LOL!!! My sister said her routines are so difficult but yet in still she continues to try to master them.
