I have been reading the posts, and alot of them talk about being in rotation. I just started with the workout videos, so I don't mean to sound stupid. I think I know what it means, but I would love to hear from you guys so I do all this stuff right. Thanks so much....

Welcome to the Video & DVD Rotations Forum. This is a forum to share your favorite Video/DVD rotations. Cathe will also contribute to this forum by providing one video/DVD rotation per month. To help others benefit from your rotation contribution, please give it a category title. Some examples could be: Strength, Cardio, Circuit, Total Body Strength, Total Body Endurance, All Step, Kickbox, All Upper Body, etc. We would also love to hear what changes you have experienced or are still experiencing while using this special rotation. Thanks for sharing!

Robbie- it's ordering your workouts for about a month to keep your body guessing. There is an entire forum for this, called "DVD and Video Rotations". The description of the thread is above.

Some of us do rotations, some do not. Check out the forum for more info. HTH,

A 'rotation' is a planned workout routine that covers a certain amount of time, usually 4-6 weeks. You plan rotations based on your goals and interests.

For example, a strength-building rotaiton might look something like this:
Day 1: chest/triceps/abs
Day 2: Interval cardio
Day 3: back/biceps/core
Day 4: 20 minute run/walk
Day 5: lower body
day 6: shoulder/abs + 20 mn. cardio
Day 7: stretch/rest

You would repeat this sequence ('rotating' the workouts) 3-5 times to finish your rotation.

Rotations can be very specific or more general, and you don't have to do a rotation to get results, but it can help focus your efforts towards a specific goal, and help you make sure that you are hitting all areas of fitness and have a balanced routine.

Just adding that if you have so many dvd's a rotation helps you keep using all of them. I know I will get stuck on 2 or 3 dvd's but when I do a rotation, I get a better variety for myself.

Once I 'got' the idea of rotation, I love it! I just found this concept a couple weeks ago, but it really is rather cool idea. It helps me focus and mix up my routine. I used to just come home and decide which video to do, but now I have a plan. I can substitute if I want to, but sometimes if I didn't have a planned workout, I'd find I'd skip it or not work as hard as I should (like do a short, easy treadmill workout instead of Low Max).

I made up my own rotation to get me through my vacation time, but when I'm out of vacation time, I'm going to do either the intermediate rotation or the circuit city rotation and I can't wait! Except I'm really looking forward to the vacation time! LOL.
