Weights for 4DS back & bis?

As expected, I'm missing my gym back/bi workout this week, so I figured I'd try the 4DS. I only have dumbells up to 20 lbs--I'm assuming she uses heavier? Can I sub w/my cheap Walmart barbell? Advice please! :)

Laura,
Some of the back segment exercises are one handed so you may not be able to sub the barbell. The biceps section might be modifiable after the first set of pyramid up curls (you could probably pause and keep adding weights to your barbell).

Maybe you can just fast forward through it and see what you think you can substitute?

For Biceps Cathe uses up to a 35# BB and only up to 20# DB's.

For Back she uses up to 30# DB's and a 62# BB. The 30# DB's are used for one arm rows so perhaps you could double up weights in one hand to make it heavier if that is not too uncomfortable for you.

Hope this helps some. :)

I don't know about the Walmart barbell but Cathe uses dumbells up to 30# I think and the heaviest she goes with her barbell is 62#.

Even if you don't have those weights, just using your 20's will give you more of a workout than if you skipped it entirely.

Sorry about missing your workout @ the gym. That blows. Let me guess....work? ;)

How did you know Allison? x(

I think I can do barbell rows for the one armed rows. Thanks guys.

What I REALLY need is a pullup bar! A slew of pullups is the ideal sub for ANY back exercise.........;-)
