Hi Everyone,

Can you tell me if you know, the names and where to buy some great weighted gloves (are they wearing weighted gloves in Kick Max etc. videos?) and also a weighted vest? I went on Amazon.com to search for weighted gloves but they were all for baseball players!! I want to get the right kind that will enhance my kickboxing workouts!

Thanks!
Kelly:)

Cathe and the crew are actually wearing wraps, not weighted gloves (though it is hard to tell, and Cathe has said that they use tape on the wraps to keep them in place during filiming, so that makes them look a bit bulkier).

I highly recommend the Ironwear brand of weighted gloves. They are well balanced, distributing the weight fairly equally between the palm and the back of the hand, and they are made of a heavy rubber, so are soft. (I've tried other gloves---sand-filled, some with metal weights, some with the weight on the back of the hand---and never kept them.)

I got my first pair of Iromwear gloves at Target years ago. Then a pair at Reebok factory outlet. I've also gotten some heavier ones (for different purposes) online.

If you search "Ironwear glove" "Ironwear hand weight" you might find some sources. Since Ironwear makes the gloves for other companies (Reebok, Janis Saffel--though she's discontinued them), you can find them under different brand names.

For weighted vests, I got a 20# one from Reebok online, when they has a 'free shipping" sale, which is great for heavier items. I've also seen them in catalogs from companies like www.power-systems.com and www.performbetter.com . I actually like the looks of the 'v-shaped' vest from these two better than the straight-cut Reebok vest (though the Reebok is made by Ironwear, and uses heavy rubber, the same as in some ankle/waist weights I have).
