weighted gloves for kickboxing?

Does anyone use weighted gloves for kickboxing? I was thinking about ordering a pair... do they increase the cardio intensity very much? I'm really enjoying more kickboxing, but hate how my heartrate drops during some of the arms-only combos.

Not sure if they raise my HR much....but they do get you quite a bit sorer in the upper back, etc....thus, I think they are good for creating definition. Amazon has Everlast's for a pretty reasonable price. I think I paid about $12 for mine plus shipping.

Here's a previous thread about weighted gloves. My advice hasn't changed since then, so instead of repeating myself, I'll just refer you to my post there:

I think they increase muscular endurance and strength, and therefore make the workout more challenging. But just be sure you have the form down (especially not locking out joints) before you start adding gloves.

You can also get more intensity with the so-called 'upper-body-only' moves by putting power into them, emphasizing the recoil. And don't forget, you may be working on punches, but they are not just done with the arms, the power for them comes up through the legs, into the hips and through the core, going from lower body to upper, so a good kickboxing/boxing punch is truly a full-body move.
