Can anybody recommend a good pair of weight lifting gloves? and since we are on the subject what about weighted gloves for kickboxing? I like the gloves Cathe wears in KPC...(dont think they are weighted tho) any suggestions will be very much appreciated. Thanks

Cathe doesn't wear weighted gloves in her KB workouts: just hand wraps that are taped with black tape (and DO look like gloves!).
I absolutely love the "Ironwear" weighted gloves. The weight is from heavy rubber, which is not hard on the hands (I've tried MANY different types of weighted gloves, and some actually hurt because they are so hard!). The weight also doesn't shift (like sand- or shot-filled weights can), and it's nicely distributed between the palm and the back of the hand (some gloves have the weight on the back of the hand, but I found they felt unbalanced to me: maybe because I have very thin wrists).

Ironwear has a website ( www.ironwearfitness.com ), but they also manufacture gloves for other brand names (like Reebok, Janis Saffel, used to be in KMart under another name as well).

For lifting gloves , I like Scheik (I don't wear leather, and they have some excellent non-leather ones, but leather ones as well). I also like the looks of the Altus ones Cathe is wearing in the blogs (black and blue) and may get a pair of those as well (since they are non-leather, according to Cathe).

I won't use anything but these:

I'd actually stopped using gloves for years before I found these b/c they're so DISGUSTING! They get so sweaty & stinky I ended up having to replace them every couple of months. These are great--no sweat, no smell, very sturdy & last forever. Also priced reasonably, much cheaper than gloves.
