We Are Cheetahs!!!!

Shelly- DD is in a 8 girl boat. They have a coxain in the boat to steer and coach them.

Yes, I routinely run about an hour after having coffee and water in the mornings. This requires food right after stretching. This routine usually means bringing fruit in the car for the drive home and then a proper breakfast. I have read that this can be good for getting a body used to utilizing fat for energy and not using mainly glycogen as a source of energy on a run. But I just do it because if I ate I would have to wait to run and miss my window of opportunity.

RE ASCM: I have no solid plans to do a career change, but gathering information is intriguing !

Hi Cheetahs!

We came in 2nd in our division!! I felt I did good on the 4 miles. It was 2 miles of uphill, so my miles were 1@10:14, 2@11:49, which is a bit faster than usual for me on hills, but the next 2 miles I turned on my metronome and tried my darnedest to get under a 10 min pace...mile 3 was 8:26 and mile 4 was 8:41!! Mind you I have not run many miles under about a 9:15 pace for a very long time, so I was very happy!! So I ended up with a 9:47 pace so I feel I am starting to get my speed back.

Christine...men at like that with meds, they would rather use them than change their diet!...The Pats did great today!!

Wendy...way to go on the 10 miles!!

Judy...yes I did run back with my friend...she runs about an 8:30 pace so trying to keep up about killed me. But, she got a stitch when we hit the downhills, so I walked some with her. We got in 8 miles and it was a tough 8 miles! So DD got in 1st in the Regatta?...cool...:)

Shelly...thanks, no pictures as the other relayers were not at the start with me. But if any show up I will post them.

Wendi...weird about the low back twinge, and it could be because of the injury. I have some pain on my left side too..I think from scar tissue (too many falls running over the years!). Enjoy your rest day..

So I am relaxing and watching football...http://smilies.sofrayt.com/sae/football2.gif[/img]

I thought I had posted my workout earlier??? don't know what happened... anyway, I just finished doing PS upperbody workouts, CST and B&B w/ abs. I'm saving the legs for tomorrows long run... another 20 miler:eek: This one on flatter terrain though. It's a trail that was actually constructed on an old railroad track so it cuts through granite dells and hills and runs along a lake. Very beautiful and a popular trail.

Wendi- Sorry your having some mysterious pain twinges today! I hate thosex( Sounds like a good idea to call it a rest day. That's too bad an elliptical isn't feasible for you now. If you do run across a good deal on a used one I would strongly consider it:)

Judy- Actually I have frequently run for an hour on an empty stomach but that's my limit. I believe after that amount of time you risk depleting your glycogen supplies and hitting the WALL:eek: . Does your DD and her crew have any Olympic aspirations??? I just love watching those races.... they are so exciting and nail biting!!

Carole- wooooohooooo speedy Cheetah!!!!! Way to go on the negative splits on your leg of the relay! AND you ran back too    Congrats on the 2nd place finish!!! You definitely deserve a nice afternoon of football now:7

Hello again, cheetahs… http://www.infohub.com/forums/images/smilies/bye.gif

Another Sunday drawing to a close. I spent most of the day working on school stuff and then tried HST for the first time. http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_275.gif Great w/out.

Wendy :: Awesome job on the 10 miles!! http://www.smileyskit.com/happy-lol-dancing-smileys_files/dance.gif It’s always a high to conquer a new distance. Hope the nap recharged you.

Lorie :: good for you getting in a workout even though you feel TTOM blahs…I agree that seems unusual about your foot. From what I’ve heard from friends who have had PF, the pain is usually most intense upon waking and moving around or at the beginning of a run. Perhaps is a strain. Whatever it is, I hope it goes away!

Christine :: ah, yes, you have relatives in the PA area and know the “Sure-kill.” I’m happy to say my headache (and the touch of remaining nausea) disappeared by midafternoon…Sounds like you have quite a stubborn DH on your hands! Hope he’ll consider changing his diet, too.

Judy :: congrats to DD on finishing first!! http://www.smileyskit.com/wink-thumb-tongue-smileys_files/thumbcool.gif ...I used to drink a cup of tea and run on an otherwise empty stomach first thing in the morning but don’t usually do that anymore. Most times, I do eat something now, even when I run early morning. I have heard the same about it being good for fatburning.

Shelly :: Woo, you hit the u/b heavy! Enjoy tomorrow’s long run. Sounds like a beautiful route.

Wendi :: A friend of mine had the same thing happen with migraines. She had them when she was younger and then they tapered off while she was her 30s. She’s in her late 40s now and hasn’t had any since. Go figure…I didn’t realize you were looking for a career change, too. I must’ve missed that somehow…Sorry about the lower back twinge.

Carole :: CONGRATS http://www.smileyskit.com/happy-lol-dancing-smileys_files/clap1.gif on your team and individual performance today!!! The Chi is really paying off, eh? I'm thrilled for you. Enjoy the post-race high & some pigskin!

Hi Amy and any others dropping in.

Oh, BTW, I found out today that my sister (who is getting married on the Disney cruise in a couple months) has registered at Tiffany & Co. Hello??? I thought people didn't register for second weddings. And what in hell is she asking for a $375 4x6 silver frame for? Or a $185 ice cream scooper???

Hi Ladies -

I was side swiped by a flu bug today. I ended up not going to the gym because my tummy was not very settled. But, I did get in an hour of yoga anyway. Then I joined DH to see the Pats cream Buffalo and had part of a chicken sandwich and some sprite (pure - not diet - first full soda I've had in about 5 years!). Came home, and started getting aches and chills. I feel like I'm 105 and can barely move. No way I'm eating anything, but I am keeping hydrated. Oh well, hopefully it will pass by tomorrow...

Keep well ladies!

Good evening Cheetahs!

I am exhausted. My race was at 7:00 am this morning. On the way, traffic came to a dead halt because of a terrible accident. Thought I was going to miss my race. It started moving and I made it to the race in plenty of time. Thank goodness I left early enough. The weather was perfect with temps in the low 70's and no rain. I finished in 59:38. I had a good start even going up a hill. I kept a pretty good pace even on the hills and my legs felt pretty good. Really got to enjoy the beauty of the park today. I sprinted the last .2 mile. Shaved almost 4 minutes off the last time.

After the race DBF and I went to McDonald's and had an Egg McMuffin and coffee. Then we went to Sam's to buy a few items and look at tv's. Next, it was on to Value City and bought a nice comforter set there. Stopped by a furniture store that a friend worked at and then it was back to DBF's house. On my way home, I stopped at Wild Oats. Got home and put everything away and got things prepped for work tomorrow. Now, I'm even more exhausted and ready to hit the hay. It's been a long day.

Cathy - So sorry to hear about the migraine interrupting your BBQ. Hope you're feeling better. I don't think second weddings matter anymore. People treat them like it's the first time. Those are some expensive wants for your DS.

Wendy - Yay for the new shorts! You did a fantastic job on the 10 miles! I thought you had a pretty good time. Yep, you are amazing! But, we knew you could do it. Don't you feel great about running now?

Judy - Glad you had a nice run! Glad DD's Regatta went well?

Carole - I'm sorry I forgot about your relay and didn't wish you luck! Congratulations to your team! You did an awesome job! Glad the speed is coming back for you.

Lorie - Glad Jason found a home. Hope you feel better.

Christine - How was yoga? Bet you needed that unwind time watching the Pats. Sorry about the flu bug. Feel better. ((((HUGS))))

Shelly - This race was so much better. Maybe running those iTread hills helped. Have a good 20 miler tomorrow.

Wendi - Hope that back twinge didn't last too long. So, what career move would you like to make?

I officially have a headache now. I am going to bed. Hope everyone has a good night.

Jackie
