Wacky Wednesday Kettlebell Check In

Good Morning!!!

No workout for me this morning. My back is feeling better:) but I don't want to chance it. I may run on the treadmill this afternoon if I have time.

Have a great day everyone!!
BBL!

Good morning!

Deanie - I'm glad your back is feeling better. I think you're smart to give it an extra day. I really liked the dress you picked out at Nordstom's. When does it arrive?

Rhonda - KM sounded like fun! I'm LMAO at your coordinating clothes strategy! It reminded me of one of Melissa Byer's blogs about superstitions and the gym. http://www.byersgetsdiesel.com/2009/05/very-superstitious.html

FWIW, I have certain hair scrunchies that MUST be used on heavy lifting days. :p

Marcy - Yoga sounded nice. Jillian's 3-2-1 formula sounds very interesting.

Jane - I'm glad you got a good swim in, and I hope you had great run last night. :)

Waves to Melissa!

We had a pretty busy, fun weekend. DH and I went to the football game on Saturday and did the whole tailgating experience. It was a blast! The weather was terrific. :)

We spent the rest of the weekend working on the yard and house...started tearing out some of the veggie garden. I constructed an oak countertop out of some leftover flooring we had stashed away. I got it glued up, sanded and stained (still need to seal). I'm planning to use it in a pantry "zone" in the new kitchen.

I'm still on PTTP. Last night was DL - 130/120; Press - 45/35. I did a 5x3 set of OHS all at 50#. They felt incredibly solid. It took about 15 minutes of limbering up in the hips/hamstrings, but I was to get really, really low. :)

More PTTP is on tap for tonight.

Have a good day!

Good Morning.

I did a segment of CS. I am going to try and do something this afternoon but I have to go to a wedding tonight.

Deanie- Glad you are taking it easy.

Gayle- Glad you had fun tailgating. You sound uber handy. LMAO at your super scrunchies. Power to the scrunch.

That blog was funny. I don't write workouts in my calendar until they are finished. Even if the dvd is popped into the player, it doesn't get written down until it is done. I only try to match Cathe. Maybe I would do better if I tried to match Anthony.

Waves to everyone else. Try to BBL.

Deanie ~ I'm glad you are resting your back today! Hope you're back into the "swing" of things tomorrow.

Gayle ~ I'm glad you had a fun weekend of tailgating.

This is the workout I'm doing today.

Hop, Slam, Jump, Run, Repeat!!
5 Rounds of 30 seconds work/15 second rest
1 minute rest between rounds

Mountain Climbers
Box Jumps
Russian Twists
Jump Rope or Jumping Jacks
Slamball
Jingle Jangles

Hope everyone has a great day. Will try to BBL.

Cheers!

Hey guys. :)

I am very, very sad about this, but I am going to take a break for a while. I can't keep up with everything going on at home and won't be able to actually get on top of anything until the beginning of October, which is the end of the fall sports season. My house is a wreck, I am completely worn out from running around and staying out late in the evenings, every evening, and then waking up early to get the day started again... Trying to get workouts in is just killing me and I feel like right now it is more important for me to make sure that everyone else is taken care of. It will be nice to actually get to fold the laundry once in a while; I feel bad sending DH to work w/ wrinkled shirts. I don't want to be unreliable with you guys, either, and feel like I have been a discouragement so I am taking a break from the forums until early October when things aren't so hectic here at home. You guys are awesome and I'll miss you. :(

Melissa

{{{Melissa}}} - Do NOT feel bad for taking a break! It sounds like just the thing you need right now. You are soooo not a discouragement. Take care of yourself and stop in and say "hi" is if you get a chance. No workouts required. ;)

Rhonda - I was going to say that Wednesday is a strange day to have a wedding, but then realized that 9/9/09 is supposed to be an auspicious date. Have fun!

Jane - That workout looks like a good one!

Melissa ~ {{{HUGS}}}. Believe me, I totally understand. I'm cutting out racing for a while because I am stressed and my focus is just not there. My workouts are staying because quite frankly that's all I have left in my life besides working and taking care of dad.

Please check in to say hi when you can.

I'll miss you!!! :(:(:(:(:(

Bicycles Crunches, Squirms and Pushups

Circuit 3 - Biceps & Butt
Deadlift with hammer curl, static squat with concentration curl (might try 10# next time),front lunge with wide grip curl, side lunge with bicep curl

Circuit 4 - Thighs & Triceps
Chair Pose with kickbacks, sumo squat with overhead tricep press, surrenders (step back and down to kneeling position and then stand up again); forward lunge with tricep pushback (straight arm)

Circuit 5 - Core
Reverse crunch, twisting plank, plan with toe taps, windshield wipers (lying down lifting both legs and move from side-to-side)

Circuit 6 - Upper Body & Core
Renegade Rows, Supermans, Scissor kicks (tough!), pelvic thrusts (1 leg in air)

Circuit 7 - Lower Body & Core
Side Plank raises, "L" shape outer thigh lifts, inner thigh raise, donkey kicks and fire hydrant with kick

Deanie - Glad your back is feeling better.

Gayle - You're quite the DIYer!:) Great job on the OHS!:)

Jane - Looks like a fun workout!

Melissa - Don't feel bad about taking some time off. We all need it. I had no time at all for exercising when my kids were in school. Don't worry about us. Take the time you need. We'll be here when you get back (but we'll miss you!:)

Rhonda - I have to write down my weights as I go or I'll forget! You're very ambitious to match Anthony! Although I have gone higher than Cathe but she always kills me on chest and biceps! Have fun at the wedding tonight!

Marcy

Hi again:)

Gayle: now you need to show us pictures of your counter top!:p I love working with wood. I have sanded and stained a few bookcases and redone a buffet from DH's Nanas house. (stripped the paint, sanded and stained) I'm sure it looks beautiful! Glad you had fun tailgating. GREAT job on pttp and the OHS!! 50# is REALLY impressive! Are you still enjoying dl'ing? week 2 right? the dress was shipped out today, no arrival date yet. I am hoping by the weekend. oh- really enjoyed the blog link:) I always write my weights down first that I want to use, but wait to write the reps down. (I do however only write up my blog after i've completed the workout)

Rhonda: Let me know how matching Anthony's outfit works for you!!LOL if it works, I will try it. Also, wanted to let you know, my ds13 came home with his reading list for this year, and the giver is on it!

Jane: really like the workout today! Have fun!!

Marcy: WTG upping your weights!

Melissa: I will miss you, but I totally understand! My life is crazy, and I only have 2 kids!!LOL PLEASE don't feel like you need to workout to post with us!!! and fyi, i had to read your discouragement line 2X!!! What discouragement????? you are not a discouragement at all!!!! take care!
