TTOM questions

Does anyone else have nausea, headache, and abdominal pain 2-3 days before TTOM? I get nauseated for 3 days before, then a bad headache and abdominal pain that is horrible. When the pain subsides and the nausea eases, I run to the bathroom because I know it is TTOM. I also get vivid dreams and incredible night sweats 1 evening before TTOM. This is a reoccuring cycle every month. Although the nausea has gotten worse over time. I am 38, with no kids and menopause at this age seems a little premature. I did go to the doctor and had a hormone check and everything is normal. I decribed these symptoms to a friend and she said the nausea and pain sounds a lot like labor pains. Any thoughts for some easing of symptoms.

Yours sounds alittle different then mine with PAIN, I don't experience pain, but some cramping even up to 1 week prior. I never get nauseated though, but do get a headache usually while on period. I have erotic dreams (LOL) just before my TTOM. Not trying to be nasty, just being honest. I get the night sweats too a few days before. Easing of symptoms? Don't have much caffeine or chocolate as this aggravates pms symptoms. Drink chammomile tea.

I sometimes get headaches and just take some Advil for them.

I have vivid dreams all the time. That's normal for me.:)

Are these abdominal pains cramps? Do you feel them in your lower abdomen, and does the discomfort extend to your waist and upper thighs? I'm asking because mine used to feel that way, and I felt them during, not after, ttom. My mom used to tell me that childbirth would ease that, but I still had it after I had my boy. BC pills helped a lot. The only thing was, during the first three months that I had to adjust to the pills, I suffered from occasional headaches. Seems like a vicious cycle, don't you think? But once my body got accustomed to the BC pills, I was fine. Hard being a woman.:( ;-)

I don't have all of those symptoms, but I get some abdominal pain. It sort of comes and goes, but is sort of a throbbing pain. I am about the same age as you, and I always worry about the premature menopause thing, esp. since my Mom went through early menopause at 41. I guess during the next doctor visit we will just have to ask about it. Perhaps it is more common than we think for women our age. Aging stinks! Oh and I have heard that you should limit your caffeine intake, but I think I would rather suffer the pain then to go without coffee and diet soda!

I used to get headaches from time to time, but avoiding processed foods and sugar really helps.

According to my acupuncturist/chinese medicine doctor, one reason women crave chocolat, especially at PMS time, is that it contains copper, which acts like a progesterone replacement. Copper is also found in pistachios. You could try increasing your copper intake at this time and see if it helps.

Thanks to everyone for the input. It really helps to know that I am not alone. Makes me feel a little more normal. I will try all these suggestions. THanks again. Suzanne
