Trying to Fit Yoga in For Wed Sept 26

Cathlete
This morning I did TLT's Endurance for Movement. Workout was 63" and I burned 349 calories. I liked the plank work with the discs under your feet doing slide in's. I couldn't push it too hard, as I had to do the floor jumps, etc with my boot on and modified running with high knees on the rebounder. I finished off with Ravi & Ana's Yoga Quick Fix - for Strength and Flexibility 11".

I'm surprised I'm the only one around here with a history of stress fractures, as much high impact (Cathe) and running as everyone does! Has anyone here had a stress fracture here besides me?

I placed my BPAL order this morning. Beaver Moon is a cherry/vanilla version this time and sounds good. I also ordered Midnight Kiss with red musk -- sounds delish. Now I have to try to get some oils together to sell to make some money to pay for my order!

Jen - Re: the Abs Diet - not sure about the music....cuz I listened to my own. The instructor is some big guy and I haven't a clue who he is. He's okay. Nothing special. The 2 background exercises are women in good shape (muscular/athletic looking). The production is okay I guess. Simple set....all I remember is clean and white...nothing in site. That probably doesn't help a lot, but I got it mainly for the ab work and cardio on the DVD and the cardio was okay. It's good for listening to your own music cuz it's relatively simple coreography.

Kel - I hope your FIL gets out of the hospital soon so you don't have to keep running up there. I know it can be stressful.

Have a great day ladies. Hope I remembered everything I was supposed to answer. Must go search jobs online and try to get some oils ready for sale.

Hi! This morning, I did PLB, matching most of Cathe's weight since this is the only lower body weight workout I will do this week, followed by SJP abs, minus the planks, & adding a few rows & chest presses for some reason. All in all, it felt like a pretty good workout & my legs were nice & fried when I finished. Still no yoga to report but I REALLY need to fit some in. Maybe I'll bring my mat back to work & start doing it during lunch again. Only problem is that I'm in a cubicle so it can be distracting when other people are around, especially during savasanah. But if that's the only way I can fit it in, I guess that's what I'll have to do.

Went to see my FIL in the hospital last night & he looked better than he has since this whole ordeal started. He said he was feeling better too so that's good. Still no word as to how long he'll need to stay in the hospital but he's still on IV antibiotics & I know they will need to get him back on his regular medicine & get it all regulated before they send him home. He is, of course, much weaker than before but that is to be expected I'm sure. When he came home from the hospital earlier this year, he never regained the strength he had before so I'm sure he's in the same situation this time too. So he's still got a ways to go but I'm just glad to see him looking & feeling a little better anyway.

Lora - Nice workout. Are you enjoying your FF week? Good luck with your job search... I hope you find something soon.

Jen - How exciting about your new DVDs. Let us know what you think about them as you preview & try them out. LOL about your "cardio pill" comment. I wish there was something I could take for it too!

Yve - I asked a couple of questions yesterday but since you didn't post again, I'll ask again today. How long are the yoga sessions at the studio where you take classes? Is the style always the same or does the instructor change it up? Hope you have a great day & check in later!

Christine - HI if you pop in later. Hope your DH is still doing well.

I better go do some work now. Hope everyone has a great day & I'll try to check back in later. Take care!

Hi everyone,

Grey thunderstormy day and night here in TO..
Today I did Step Blast - followed by Seanne Corn - vinyasa.

I feel wonky today - combination of the weather... and the fact that the fire alarm went off last night at midnight - and didn't stop for half an hour.....OK - whine over.

Lora - You have had that fracture for a long time. I remember you were posting about it in the winter. I dont know much about these - but why do they take so long to heal? Sounds painful.

Kel - Glad to hear that your FIL is doing a bit better.
The yoga sessions I take are an hour and fifteen minutes. They have various classes on certain nights/days - that are always the same. Ie Friday morning is always restorative - Tuesday nights always ashtanga.. etc etc. But depending on the makeup of the class - the instructor may make it more or less intense. As well - for restorative - she will ask if anyone has any aches or pulls - and she does poses for those areas. WRT ashtanga - the flow is usually about the same - but she may change the sequence or intensity a bit. The floor and standing work is different every week though.
They also have classes for people that work - that are during the lunch hour and run for 50 min.

Jen - The party was being held by a local car dealership that was having it's grand opening and ribbon cutting event. Dh's cousin just got a job there - and so he invited us. It was nice - lots of fancy hor d'oeuvres and drinks... Saw some of DH's other cousins. It's nice actually - just to get out of the house for a bit...

Christine - Hope all is well - and that your DH is continuing to improve.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
Yve

Yve - you must be thinking of my last stress fracture. I fractured the metatarsal next to the current one the summer before last and it healed into the Fall and Winter of that year. This one just happened on 7/18 and has been healing since then. One of the reasons they take longer to heal on me (besides the fact that I'm a slow healer)are because I don't stay off my foot and the motion causes it to take longer to heal and actually, the motion makes it heal with a bone callous ...which isn't a real big deal....but it's the way of the body naturally protecting itself from the motion it senses and in turn "cocoons" the fracture so to speak. But you know me, stubborn when it comes to exercising....so there's no keeping me down.

Well, I was able to get one of the interviews I turned down when I had that job. I was called for a Technical Typist position for Children's Services and didn't set the interview up cuz I had a job....but I called the guy on Friday and told him what happened and they were interviewing last week....but today he called and scheduled me for an interview on Monday. Fingers crossed. I have no idea what a "technical typist" for children's services would do. Any ideas?
