Morning Ladies -

This morning I did SWAT Weightloss & SWAT Strength with a Cathe stretch at the end. I also added a couple sets of jacknives with a 10 pound dumbbell for my abs. I didn't work my abs with weights for a while to switch things up and now I'm going back to weighted ab work. Workout was a little over an hour and I"m not sure how many calories I burned, as my HR monitor is acting up. Hope I don't need a new one. I also did Power Yoga with Tracey.

I'm not sure how I feel about this Yoga DVD. Either I was too sore and worked to do it and like it, or it doesn't click with me. She moves sort of fast and doesn't really hold poses that long and does lots of arm balances (which I can't do). I'll give another try at a later date.

I'm feeling mildy sore from these SWAT workouts, and oddly enough....a LOT sore in my upper legs/lower butt (have no idea which exercise is doing that!). They work your body in different ways .....great for cross training. They do lots of mountain climbers, squat thrusts, pushups with different variations on each of those moves. The strength workout was pretty tough. You lift nonstop and my muscles were very fatigued at the end of the workout. I had to keep dropping my weights lower. I used heavier weights than they did. The strength one kept your HR up also....cuz you constantly move.

I also did Lunar Yoga last night from the Lunar DVD of Shiva Rea's. It was a very nice practice. I'm going to be doing this a lot in the evenings. It was only 30 minutes and perfect.

Yve - I hope you like the shoes. Did you get the black or white? I did Yogatopia over the weekend and I learned how to get a better stretch in pigeon. She pushes on her foot to get a better stretch. I'm so happy I found this cuz I wasn't feeling pigeon too much any more without going into variations with twists and such. I've been doing that now in all of my practices. My bladder infection is only mild. I caught it before it got real bad. Yes, I don't know what's going on with the hospital job. I called HR yesterday and asked if the position had been filled and she said no. She said they were waiting for info and when I asked what kind of info? ....she replied ...they need to tell us who they want to hire.....and then said this procedure takes time! So, I think she's either stalling cuz the Mental Health part of the hospital might close.....or she's really backed up with her work. I don't know!

Jen - Yes, the questions were tough at the interview. She read them from a paper! I hate text book interviews. I have no idea what sort of info she was looking for. Sorry, no pics from me. I don't have a digital camera. The only reason I have the Avatar one is cuz it was from when I met Buckcherry (the band) and someone there snapped that pic of me on a digital and she emailed me the ones I was in.

RE: the Coca Cola job........they want somebody very advanced in Excel, Powerpoint and very "high tech" with computers, etc. Believe me, that's NOT me. I'm good on computers...don't get me wrong....but with the sorts of things they need, not sure. Actually, I probably would like the work if I was better with the computer cuz it's a lot of creative type of work. Flyers, Ad campaign stuff, and then lots of charts in Excel for sales, etc. I had to take a test when I was there. I was given data and asked to put in in a spreadsheet into a graph and then I had to copy it into PowerPoint, etc. I never did this before....but I did what I thought was right. Not sure if it's what they wanted. I told her I never did it before and she did comment that it says a lot about my character that I tried rather than just say that I couldn't do it. Anyway......don't think they'll call me for a 2nd interview.

I've gotta get going.......be back later.

Lora-I love the Lunar Series on Shiva's DVD. When I reach for hers, that is the sequence I am mostly likely to follow. Haven't done that one in ages though. When I interview, I also work off of a paper. It's important because (1) you should make sure you ask the same questions of all applicants (except ones specific to their work histories, of course, as those will be varied) and (2) keeps you from forgetting a question and making sure you ask everything. It sounds like you did a good job at the interview. I don't know very much about Power Point...I am not sure I could have winged it the way you did. That's excellent-you should feel good about it! I thought the comment she made about your character was interesting-she has a great point and it was well said.

BBL after WO...should be yoga, DH said we are still on schedule for that tonight. Of course, I have to add on so I'll be thinking of what else to do......still haven't attempted Hip Hop Abs...not a good sign. :(

Jen - Sorry .....didn't mean to offend you. I forgot you are in HR!! There's a difference between working from a paper and just reading questions. She just read them. I guess I'm just sick of interviews and second interviews already. Nothing in the paper this past weekend or online either.

Hi flexible ladies!

Seems as though my life just doesn't want to calm down. Not to get on a depressing note, but my closest friend's brother & his wife just had a baby boy (my friend's nephew) about a week ago & he was born with a very rare birth defect. His name is Jimi, as in Jimi Hendrix, & he has had a really tough time already in his short life. Before I left the house yesterday, I received a phone call that he had passed away Monday night. Of course, that was just tragic news & I was tied up most of the day yesterday but by the time I got home, I received word that they had kept him on the machine & he was still alive but no longer responding to any pain stimulus or anything... & just a few minutes ago, my DH told me that he is now opening his eyes, kicking his little feet, & having normal bodily functions, which are all good, positive signs. I just hope he continues to improve. What a roller coaster ride for everyone, especially the mammy & daddy. Can you imagine what they've been through? I mean, they didn't even know he had the birth defect & now they've had to endure all this too. But he seems to be holding his own for now, thank goodness.

Well, I have continued to get in some pretty good workouts this week, but still no yoga... yet. Monday was Cardio & Weights, yesterday was KickMax Boot Camp Challenge, & this morning, I did Supersets. Pretty good so far. Tomorrow, I plan to do Cardio Fusion 41 1/2 min. premix, yoga in the evening, & some kind of circuit workout Friday.

As always, you girls are getting in some awesome workouts so keep up the good work!

Be back later...

Lora-Offense, please?!? No offense in that at all. It's been interesting reading your take on things. It has reminded me of things I need to remain sensitive to, since I am usually looking at the employers side, and in some cases, trying to remain somewhat neutral. I really do mean that I think you handled everything very well. I try my best not to force my HR mentality on anyone, but do occasionally try to explain why we HR people do what we do. Speaking of which, I am still at work and might be stuck here awhile....WO is slipping away!!!! Just saw your post and had to respond.

Kel-Oh my! That baby story was heartbreaking and amazing at the same time! I really hope everything works out. I was born 2 months premature and only weighed 2 lbs 14 oz-I am living proof of what good care can do for babies! I will be thinking postive thoughts! In the meantime-goodness girl, you've had quite a couple of months. Hope you get to take some time for yourself soon!
