Morning Yogini's and Wannabee Yogini's -

This morning - I couldn't bear sitting on that bike another day....so I left my cast/boot on and did Cardio Coach - Just Press Play on the Elipitical. Workout was 70" and I burned 490 calories. I also did Yoga Shakti from the matrix Dancing Warrior 3, Standing Flow 1, Supine Poses and ended with plough and shoulderstand, lying twist.

I'll be going for that preliminary job testing this morning and the Temp Agency this afternoon. I also applied at the large Grocery Store chain up the street yesterday via phone for a job in the Video Dept. I've got a call into a Telemarking place (I know!!.....what can I say...I need a job) for a possible job. Hopefully something I can get something soon here.

I meant to mention that my Mom got hit on the road after pulling out of my driveway and placing her car in the turning lane (I live on a very busy intersection). The kid must have been drunk, high or driving without insurance or a license cuz he jumped out of his SUV, said he had no damage and jumped right back in his vehicle and took off ......my Mom was shook up and her bumper was smashed in. When I talked to her via the phone from Vegas....she told us what happened and she hadn't called the police yet cuz she was in shock. We told her what to do and so the cops came and made a report, but her deductible is too high on her insurance to get it fixed. She's sort of afraid to drive now. I feel bad. I can tell my Mom is starting to depend on me more ever since her pelvic fracture. She used to be really independent. I'm glad I was able to take her for her surgery yesterday, as she didn't want her neighbor to take her (had I been working) cuz that lady's not always nice to Mom!

Jen - what do the specialists think they will be able to do for your dog? Are you expecting them to be able to help? Hang in there and know we are here for you to vent and drop your shoulders anytime! Thanks for the human resource tips. I'm worried about the math test....as I suck at Math...always have. I've noticed that the people I've spoken with at the company have been EXTREMELY friendly so I will make it a point to try to smile and be cheerful........cuz I'm not the most cheerful person by nature.

Kel - Wow....going to Nascar. That sounds like fun. Speaking of racing, do you know if Ashley Judd's husband is okay? I heard on the news in Vegas that he was in a firey crash....and I was wondering if he's okay. I wish I could take a day to do stretching/yoga and pilates like you, but like Jen.....cuz of my weightloss issues....I don't think it would be a good idea right now. Hopefully when I go back to work, I'll go back to my normal weight.

Have a great day everyone.

Have great workouts everyone.

Jen - I forgot to ask you an important question about the HR job. The ad in the paper said must be Proficient in Excel, Word, etc. Well, I'm pretty much proficient in Word, but I'm only basic in Excel...for example, I can't do formulas, only auto sum, etc. How honest should I be about this fact if I do get an interview? I'm usually pretty honest and I'm not sure that's the way I should be.

Hi ladies! Peeking in at lunch today to see what's new!

Lora-Yikes! That is really scary what happened to your mom. Unbelieveable that someone would leave the scene of an accident these days...makes you wonder if the vehicle they were driving was stolen or something.

I would be honest with the HR people about your Excel abilities, but maybe try to get more information from them if they ask you about it. Maybe what they would require you to do may be using the skills you already have. I wouldn't worry too much about the math-I doubt it is too complicated-but I do know what you mean, I don't like it either. Good Luck with your prospects-looks like you have some good leads.

I guess with the Specialist, we are looking for a couple of things-(1) repeat testing (x-ray, bloodwork) over again to confirm the diagnosis, (2) give a second opinion regarding treatment, (3) give us the bed/worst case outcomes based on the recommended treatment options. I am not sure that the Specialist will be able to tell us anything different than the original vet, but he may give us more insight into what to expect or a larger variety of treatment options, since he specifically deals with dogs with cancer on a more regular basis.

OK, lunch is over! Hi to Kel if you check in later! I hope to be back this evening to report a workout! We'll see.....

I'm all tested out. I took 3 hours of tests this morning at the job prospect place and then was at the Temp Agency interviewing and testing all afternoon and I have to go back on Friday for the typing and Excel part....yikes. Tomorrow - I have an interview with a Telemarketing Firm that markets for American Cancer and American Heart Associations.......a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!!

Jen - thanks for the info re: work stuff. Re: the Vet - I'm sure hoping they can give you better news. I understand how you want to do everything possible to save them, but at the same time, I also know how disappointing it is when you spend tons of money to save them and they end up dying anyway. It's just so tough with pets.....as you never know how far to go with treatment. I know a long time ago I had a cat with a very rare disease and he was the first cat in Youngstown to contract it and my vet (at the time) was very interested in studying my cat. We kept him alive for a while and he went into remission and then had a rapid decline and died. It was a horrible situation cuz we had to keep him separate from our other cats and give him tons of medication and the room we kept him in had liquid medicine all over the walls from him not wanting to take it. I remember our vet wanted us to start giving him blood transfusions and that's when we decided to draw the line, as we had already spent a lot of money and we doubted he could be saved. It's just so hard to make that final decision. I'm here for you if you need me and my heart truly goes out to you. I'm a true animal lover and totally understand Pets being "your children"!!

Hi ladies! I actually got in a workout this evening! I did the original Ripped. That is another one of my "go-to" workouts when I need to get back in the swing of things. Slow & Heavy was what I was doing before this and I swear it is really tough to switch from heavy to endurance. Kills me every time.

Lora-That is really sad about your cat. :( I can't believe they wanted to do blood transfusions. :( How on earth did you keep him separate from the other cats? That must have been nearly impossible. I know what you mean about the liquid medicine getting everywhere. For some reason, I draw a blank every time I have to clean the Bassett Hound girls' ears out. I have to put ear wash in their ears and they shake it out every time. Then, I say to myself that next time I will do it outside, but I can't seem to remember to do that when it comes time. LOL! Anyway, you are so right, it is very hard to draw the line. There is a vet school out in Athens, GA that also has an Oncologist that we could see. It would be an hour drive each way and I have no idea whether or not Lenny would have to go each day if we elected chemo. Even so, it would just be impossible considering DH & I both work full-time. Our jobs have been understanding, but they will only be that way up to a point and as much as I love my dog I have to think about my marriage and my livlihood too and I have two other dogs that need us, too.

Have a great evening ladies! ;)
