Trying to Fit Yoga in for Tues Sept 25

Morning Ladies -

Didn't feel like working out this morning, so what did I do?....2 of the things I hate the most! I did 30" of Spin & Sculpt - Strength Hill Climbing Spinning and 30" of Spin & Burn - Endurance work spinning. Workout was 60" and I burned 400 calories. I then did Yoga Fit Yoga for Cyclists 30".

I'm going for a 2nd interview at Penney's for Seasonal Help. I'm not really thrilled about it. I'd rather get full time work somewhere, but I guess I'll do whatever I have to. There were so many ladies filling out applications at that job I went to apply at yesterday that they had to bring chairs out of the back!

Yve - I'm not sure if they have HeadHunters around here. I am signed up with a temporary agency for Temp to Hire work....but have not heard anything. Both other times in my life I signed up for temp work, I got a job within a week. Things must be really bad around here. I like the Tracey Long Training DVDS...as long as you use them for FF and not expect them to be anything above and beyond that. I know some Cathe ladies bought them and thought "these are too easy" ....but it's not that they are easy so much as they are different and I think there is a slight learning curve with them. I think the more you use them, the more you can concentrate on your form and the more you can get out of them.

Kel - sorry if I've been a bit self absorbed this last week. My mind is a bit too focused on the poor me syndrome. Sorry if I haven't been there for my yoga friends. Sorry you're friend disappointed you last night regarding going to yoga practice together.

Jen - Is Lenny still doing good? Lunar update tomorrow on the BPAL site!!

Good morning. Getting here a little earlier than normal today & in a much better mood than yesterday. Thank you for putting up with me yesterday & thanks for listening. I'm still a bit aggravated with my friend but ready to let it go & put it behind us. I guess I was just looking forward to getting together with her & it just sort of hurt my feelings when I realized that her goal was to take a yoga class, not necessarily spend time together. No biggie, really. Just a miscommunication I guess. Yesterday morning, I had a piece of homemade carrot cake with the yummy cream cheese icing & then last night I hate horribly so this morning, I did IMAX 3. I thought that would be appropriate "punishment" for my poor eating habits - LOL. My arm is feeling noticeably better today too so that's good. I think my FIL is continuing to improve very slowly so that's good too. He still has a long way to go (it's a day-to-day thing at this point) & no doubt he'll be in the hospital for a lot longer but it's good to see him feeling a little better & slowly improving anyway.

Lora - Oh my goodness, no need to apologize at all! I'm still in shock that this has happened to you & I'm so sorry! I can't imagine how you must feel & I wish you the best of luck with your job search & upcoming interview(s). Great workout this morning. You really are a maniac! Please keep us updated with your job search & know that we're all thinking of you & wishing you the best.

Yve - Are you taking another yoga class today? How long are the classes usually? Do they offer different styles & different instructors? The yoga studio I usually go to is actually in a massage therapy place & there is only one instructor so whenever she has to cancel, they just don't have class. Also, if they don't have enough students sign up for a class, they cancel. So I've been thinking a lot more about checking out some of the other studios in my area & trying to take a class after work occasionally.

Jen - I guess you must be really busy at work again? Hope you have a chance to check in today. We miss you when you're not around!

Christine - Yesterday, I asked if you were training for a race. Just curious since you're running so much & increasing your distances. I hope your DH is feeling better & hope you get a chance to check in later too.

Well, I guess I better go draw some brick now. Hope everyone has a great Tuesday & I'll be sure to pop back in later to see what else is going on.
 
Hi ladies! Sorry I didn't get to post yesterday, time slipped away from me! I did WO last night-Bar Method Designer Sculpting. I have a couple of new workouts coming in from Netflix-a Shape Bootcamp one, and Jillian's backside and frontside. I downloaded some new tunes to my iPod this weekend and rearranged some of the mixes so that they flow better. I was so disappointed when it rained last night and I couldn't get outdoors to test out the music. (I don't have speakers for my iPod, so I can't use it for indoor workouts yet. I have put in a Christmas request to DH for them. :) )

Lora-How do you like the Abs Diet workouts? I have read good things about them but don't really have a good idea of what they are about. You know my usual questions-instructor? music? production quality? I am surprised the temp agency wasn't able to put you to work right away. You are doing all the right things at this point-Hang in there! Thanks for the BPAL info. Still waiting for what I ordered to come in, so I better stay away from that site for awhile-it's just too tempting!

Kel-That is good news about FIL eating and keeping things down. Any idea how much longer he will have to stay in the Hospital? Glad your arm is doing better, too. I hope you can patch things up with your friend. I understand your point of view. Sounds like you have some perspective on it today. Are you going to try to talk to her again or give it another couple of days?

Yve-Wow! That was quite the walking workout you got on the way to yoga class!

Back again for just a few minutes before I leave for the day. I was going to go walking with a co-worker during lunch but my DH called & wanted to go eat so I went with him instead (of course). It's really a little too hot to go walking right now anyway & it was really nice to have lunch with my DH too!

Jen - Sorry you didn't get to try out your new tunes but it sounds like you have some fun workouts to try. Hope you enjoy them & let us know what you think. No word as to how long my FIL will need to be in the hospital yet. He's still not doing well... just a little bit better than he was. I guess the best way to describe it is that he's not out of the woods but he is improving so we just hope he continues on that path. If I had to guess, I'd say he'll be there at least another week but probably even more. Yeah, I'm glad my perspective is better regarding my friend. The truth is that this is just how she is & I know that so I don't hold it against her but I will probably give her a few more days anyway. It's no biggie. Plus, I just found out last night that my DH & I need to go to the hospital since my MIL won't be able to go today so I wouldn't have been able to go to yoga regardless. Seems like sometimes things just work out the way they're supposed to.

Well, I guess it's time for me to straighten up & get outta here. I probably won't have a chance to check back in later so I hope everyone has a great evening & I'll be back tomorrow!

Today I went for a 45 minute walk and became so tired. It is so humid here today.

I have to run - as I have to go to a cocktail party for 6:00pm.... But will try to be back later.

Hi again! Tonight's WO was a 45 min walk/run. I sure wish there was a cardio pill you could take! Oh Well. I took one of the Bassett Hounds with me for one lap around the park. She tires pretty easily (but just LOVES to go) so I brought her back to the house and went out for another lap again on my own. On the second lap, I tried to slow down my jogging pace because I really wanted to make it all the way around. I had to walk in two spots for about 30 seconds just to catch my breath, but other than that, I made it! :) Two of the three Netflix DVDs arrived and my Barry's Bootcamp order arrived! Oh my goodness, what's a girl to preview first? :eek:

Yve-I hope you had a nice time at your cocktail party! Was it for a specific event or just a get-together with friends?

Kel-Sounds like you had a nice lunch with DH. I wouldn't be able to resist that either-I wish my DH worked closer. Our house is about mid-way between both our jobs, which I guess is good since our commute time is evenly divided.
